    Thank you for these guide videos, they've been invaluable to me for getting into the game properly. Could I suggest (Or request) a short video on your take of the pros and cons of all the armour attachments currently in the game? Which ones you tend to favour or prefer for which type of brother, etc.

    I didn't know these things even existes, out of nowhere they just attacked me on my 10th-ish run and destroyed my whole company. One dude survived and after what he saw I'm sure he'll have nightmares for the rest of his life

    Only just started playing, both addictive and frustrating in equal measure, very steep learning curve, but your videos are helping me a lot so thank you much appreciated 👏👍

    Lindwurms have been updated. The tails now have ZOC. The wurms also have a knockback now so shieldwalling isn't foolproof. I pretty much avoid this unless I seek getting rid of excess fodder. They're very painful and I doubt Filthy would fight these anymore given the updates.

      I've found them very useful for pulling into large nomad camps and cleaning the survivors up.

    Sounds like they could add more enemies that use acid and make fighting the Lindwurms more useful.

    The Problems with Lindwurms is in my opinion similar to that of schrats, the are easy to deal with, if you encounter a maximum of 5 or 6, but things get out of hand, if they come at you with 9 or 10 at once.
    I had a few encounters where I had to resort to kiting because my tank where getting hit through indomitable with 5% min chnace so often, that there armor got wrecked, since then, my tactic is similar, but more offensive, i run 2 tanks with shield and indomitable to draw away about 2/3 of the Lindwurms, and have 2 twohanders with crypt-cleavers holding the middle backed up by as many archers and hybrids as possible (especially hybrids with quick hands, bows and polearm mastery can really put the hurt on), bill-hooks for stripping armor, bows to soften up and overwhelm and crypt-cleavers to decapitate.
    The danger with Lindwurms is dragging out the fight, when those 5% hits have a real chance of dealing some damage or destroy so much armor, your company is crippled for a week.
    P.S.: It´s also funny to send a Lindwurms head flying by smacking it in the ass.

    Getting efficient at killing these monsters is great because it can be a good source of gold especially if it is from a 4000 gold contract. He controls these fights very well and doesn't take much damage so it is all profit.

    Neat vids, Filthy! If you don't mind my making a suggestion, could you make videos about these fights with lower level brothers? Maybe early game

    Omg thank you, I was going mental first time I met Lindwums, but with your calm explanation of how they work they're super cool to fight now. More like chess. And yeah, having a few good tanks with shields to take 1 each wurm helps a ton while peppering them with ranged fire. Much love

    Early mid game, around 50-60 days, escort of a trade cart. 2 of these horrible monsters. I had a nice team, 12 guys with early good tier armor (lamellar or leather, some mails and 105hp helmets)... Nice team. But i was prudent. Began to fall back to let the handcart fight. Fire an arrow. Wow. Almost no dmg. Ok lets flee guys. But then i saw the npc fight not so bad. Asked myself if i'll help them. But then, 4 + 1 near death in a row. The whole escort gone. So yeah, i flee, without any wounds. Feel bad for the poor peasants escorting the cart.

    Fought Lindwurms ones, that was before i knew how important recovery is. Kiting worked great that time, but in the end I could never make it. They just rampaged through my fatigued brothers.

    Fairly easy fight.. That made me laugh tbh. And really really sad. Like seriously sad. I got 469 hours in Battle Brothers. And lindwurms are still a 70/30 fight for me. More then 2 worms and I just die :P

  • @lord6617

    early on if you've fought any goblins, the goblin polearms only require 5 ap to use, so you can step in, hit, step out just as if you had polearm mastery if you've got those. And they have a high chance to bleed for some extra damage I think? Also acid doesn't trigger until you punch through their armor I believe?

    I'm not sure, but when you moved your shield brother, there was nobody left adjancent to tail, so tail could rally.
    I don't think that's a bug, more likely it was implemented that way.
    If both parts can rally independently, so each part checks for near enemies.

    Near the end of the video, did the Lindwurm rally because no one was next to the tail? First time I've ever seen that happen

    My tactic against Lindwurms is bringing 1 Supertank with shield and bunch of polearm guys. While the tanker hold out all of lindwurm polearm guys stand a tile away from one lindwurm and beat the shit out of it while your tanker keep taunting the lindwurm which your polearm squad is focusing at. Works every time with almost zero casualty and less armor damage.

    Hello Filthy, Great guide as usual. I remember reading somewhere, that when hitting the Tail of a Lindwurm your chance to hit the head is 0% (which would be logical). Is this still the case? ( havent fought any Lindwurms yet) In that case it would definitely be smarter to only attack the tail whenever possible to avoid chewing through both armor components, no?

    • @FilthyRobot
      @FilthyRobot  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tail and head both spew acid on you. And, if you wanted, you could AOE both tail and head.

    • @Saxophonist1990
      @Saxophonist1990 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FilthyRobot I don't think you understood what I was trying to say: If you attack the Body part of a Lindwurm you will have a 25% chance to hit it's head and thus he head armor. If instead you attack its tail your hit chance to head is 0%. Thus if you only attack the Tail their head armor will remain intact > you deal more damage to HP

    • @9kArdos3
      @9kArdos3 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Saxophonist1990 Probably, he answered a question you didn't ask, because the question's lack of sense made it invisible.
      Deathworm is not like a thug without headpiece or in your case body piece, to consider getting in 1-2 hits for a kill on either body or head.
      Just look at it, but really look at the whole thing, get your perspective out of 1D:
      Step one hit the tail.
      ! Step two repeat step1 min. 10+ times/worm ! (possibly even 20/)
      Consider geometry, the need for range, nature of range(friendly fire), nature of deathworm.
      What you suggest, would obviously have the opposite of desired effect.
      For wonderers. Cheers.

    tried this even with 80 MD with shield wall up my men are being wrecked.. the tails scoop around now and surround you... why did they change these horrible monsters!!!

  • @Taffer-bx7uc
    @Taffer-bx7uc 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The lindwurms shields are kinda disappointing and the limited crafting items is also ok. Most of the rewards from the crafting stuff is kinda ok in a way really. Hopefully they add more stuff soon.

  • @GandoTheBard
    @GandoTheBard 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Blocking clearly does not work as they randomly will get max damage through a shield wall and 2 hit your guy. Max level, shield bro, magical shield, shield wall, heavy armor (300+ on both), battleforged, still 2 hit dead.

    • @GandoTheBard
      @GandoTheBard 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is
      the one encounter that feels like BB devs really hate the players. The others are surmountable eventually with some tactical or gear advantages but Lindwurms in multiples are guaranteed killing machines if you just want to end your company in blood.

    The only thing I hate about this fight is the RNG. I've had Lindwurms have 10% chance to hit, and by Turn 3 they've landed 10% bites 4 times in a row and totally wrecked my Megatanks. Urgh!

    ...So yeah, this video is super outdated. My fault for not checking first, but you 100% cannot fight even 2 Lindwurms with this strategy in the early game anymore.
