Nice vid. One thing I have learned is that fire pots ignore shrat shields and do full damage against them. They don't do much damage relative to the number of hits a shrat has but hitting them and the saplings with fire can be worth it if it means avoiding injuries. Flash pots can also be handy due to daze.
what i like to do with these guys is separete my team in like two groups, top and down, to amplify the space between each schrat, then engage em with the tankies of bros to hold them where i prefer, i usually have some archers to kinda safelly hit him as of most times i will not be able to circule around all schrats, and when the shield is down, the arrow damage is quite significant. so basically, spread schrats, engage them first to control their positioning, break shields and focus attacks. worst case scenario, use arrows to kill their childlings.
I like to use both if no famed shields, but the schrat shield regenerate 4 each turn which is good but normally if your fighting orcs or any who love to break shields it goes down pretty fast even with shield master

Both really good points there, I don't use pots as much as I should

Their root attack, is it counted as a melee or range attack? just got into a fight with just 2 of these, already got some serious damage to the team.
Melee
I hate fighting schrats unless i have good tanks and i fight them in forests.
PS: are lindwurm shields better?
