I don't know why some people are ragging so hard on this, it's not designed to compete against MP-36. It's to pair against WJ's own MPP10 after all. For those who dislike this offering there are plenty of masterpiece style size alternatives. Buyers of the oversized versions have been wanting a counterpart to the MPP10, especially since the MW-01 Rendsora came out to do battle against the M-01 Commander.
This is a so underated Megatron ... if this have a proper silencer (cartoon acurate I mean) and a larger stock, this would be the best Megatron in the market ... he is bigger, with a solid body and so clean ...
I still love my MP-01 and while I do like my MP-05, I think this guy is for me. The MP-36 looks really good but the price is just way too much for me right now. But I dig the transformation and the look is great. Can't wait to have him displayed next to MP-01.
Just got my first piece to my collection, MP-01 Optimus Prime that I got at a convention. And now here's a Megatron that isn't flimsy and fits in scale!
I just got a later version of this guy and he has a lot more paint applications. The lower back has a few areas of black paint application as well as through out also mine came with a 3rd chest panel that has a raised purple outline of the decepticon symbol. Also the back of the hips on mine are black not grey so they match better with Masterpiece megatron
Drazen De Guzman You can easily get a knockoff MP36. I have one it's not bad but the paint needs touching up and the spruce nub marks need some finish touches.

Is it just me or does it seem like his forearms are too long? Not the total arm length. Almost like there should be more grey plastic on the shoulders and less on the forearms. Despite that it's a really nice Megaton and should look great next to MPP 10.
Non-transforming (or not), G1 cartoon-styled, MP-scaled, non-high waisted version for me please. I've won with the TF waiting game in general so I'm still hoping to win for this character in this regard as well.
I like MP 36 better. Despite the back kibble in robot mode and panel ridden gun mode he's the perfect MP Megs in my opinion. I don't like several things on this one, including the incorporated stock in gun mode, stupid and inaccurate silencer, long forearms, Apollyon style feet, and the overall proportions of the robot mode. Despite being cleaner it seems like a step backward from MP 36.
I dont want to pay the price for mp36 so i just bought despotron like two days ago . I wish this had a smaller version and i might have got this even though i hate the gun mode
Hi there, I got the figure and love it, but can't get the armpit small mechanisms that fold in and out. There seems to be no purpose but an aesthetic one, however they hinder the arm movement if unfold. Did you find out why are they there for or are we on the same page? Cheers
It scales with there mpp10, I have the both figures and I must say mpp10 feels way more premium then this megs and by a lot too! It’s a cool figure for the price but nothing more to me.
One arm was having issues as I mentioned in the video, because the spring that holds the ratchet in place had popped past the screwhead that held it down, which I fixed easily after the review. The left arm is having issues because one half of the ratcheting ring cracked, which was also easily fixed. The arms can move out and stay in place now.
peaugh I just got one. Same problem with left arm. Doesnt hold up. I don't think that a masterpiece figure should come with problems like that. How did you fix it?

Right off the bat, I knew this would be a bad figure. After watching the transformation process I knew my initial hunch was correct. The face swap feature is a blatant rip-off of the TakaraTomy mold, even the interior scan of his head is there, but you did not make mention of it. Far too many little easily breakable pins are involved in the hips and knees for locking into place from gun to robot mode. Those one-way spring-loaded ones in the hips that you struggled mightily with on camera were enough to make me want to throw the figure against a wall. The shoulder armor is also terrible. It just sits there loosely on top of semi-endoskeletal arms. It reminds me of the 1980s shoulder pads in ladies clothing. "Laserbeak" never looked more deserving of the insult "Tin-foil Turkey" from the cartoon.
Peaugh made ut look way harder than it actually is..I suggest you watch some other vids for the transformation and you will see it actually is fairly straight

To me it's more important the function of the toy then his similarity to the cartoon (still Wei Jiang version is also very cartoon accurate), I got nostalgic feeling by handling the toy...as kids we had PLAYLINE toys, not overcomplicated fragile adult collector toys.

The back kibble isn't an actual problem and the transformation isn't that bad. I like MP Megs' chest better too as it allows for thr chest swapping gimmick.
This video does not do this thing justice. His looks like it has a lot of issues. Mine has crisp paint applications and more of them. The legs on his are not pegged right there should be zero inward or outward flopping at the knees. and my back side hip skirt is black not grey like his
Borrrrring, this looks just like every other third p Meg's, you could take any other third party Megatron and tell me it was from a different company, and I'd believe you because they all look the same, they're all almost cartoon accurate but fall short, including this flop of a Meg's. The mp is the only dynamic cartoon accurate Meg's out there

Kinda looks like a refined X-Transbots Megatron. Many movements seem the same, maybe just a little nicer.

It looks like the stock IS removable. The rotating part below the large metal pin can slide out.

The right thigh is way too distracting to me and the arms don't seem to go outward and stay there. Like it's missing ratchets.

kkjcid you can when I painted mine red like the g1 I realized the whole stock piece can be removed by the swivel. No tools needed.
