Man. The engineering on these modern transformers are incredible. So great that the 3rd party toys make it affordable for me to start buying some of these pieces of awesomeness.
The moment I bought my MMP10 Optimus Prime (and I bought both the clean and battle damaged versions because I couldn't make up my mind as to which one I wanted) I knew I needed to have a same sized Megatron to compliment the figure- but having bought the IT and THF MP-36 Megatrons at around the same time, I was more happy with those and also wasn't really aware that Wei Jiang were going to make- or already made- an oversized Megatron. To kick off the New Year, my oversized Megatron will be arriving, and I can't wait. I'm already planning on having a display piece where Optimus and Megatron have their guns pointed at each other on my TV stand on both sides. Great way to enter 2020!

I just got mine for $140USD ($105 + $25 Shipping + $11 Tax) from China on e b a y. Arrived in just two weeks (the estimated arrival was June 21st) in A+ condition, larger than I expected. This figure is a steal and it goes perfectly with my MPP10. Get it if you can!
Back in 86 or so I owned an original Megatron G1. Long story short, I brought my figure to school to show it off. It was stolen by some kid who eyed it and I knew who it was. Never got another Megatron till now. 31 years later here I am back collecting Transformers again and I bought this particular type of 3rd party Megamaster figure and consider this an Upgrade compared to its earlier model. I love the Led in its scope. Overall it's just that awesome.
I pre'ordered My NE-01 from TFS express back in August the week before TF Nation and I've been patiently waiting for the email notification from TFS to say it's on it way, I can't believe that the 20% off offer they have on this is still up... but not for long after seeing this 😉 I've got pretty much all the G1 style megs gun formers and engineering wise this one does borrow a little from Apolloyon in the way the hips attach and fold back from the waist but aside from that it's mostly a new style transformation, calling this a KO is a bit of a stretch yes the accessories are borrowed straight from MP36 but there is a lot of new ideas in use here and like the name suggests this truly is a "New Evolution"
I’m a big fan of your TF videos! I’m watching the Wei Jiang NE-01, with my not-yet-transformed NE-01. I got partway through the transformation on my own, got stuck, lost track, will have to do some rewinds to catch all the steps- wish I could slow the vid down. I’ll survive. Thanks for this post!
I just got a later version of this guy and he seems to have more paint applications. The lower back has a few areas of black paint application as well as through out also mine came with a 3rd chest panel that has a raised purple outline of the decepticon symbol. Also the back of the hips on mine are black not grey so they match better with Masterpiece megatron. Also the Orange cap on my was in bag inside his mind control helmet. The battery were in the box and were a pain to install. I didnt realize either the the barrel extended to give access to the battery compartment. I also noticed on the black paint applications on his chest in the video to be quite rough. On the chest pieces I received they are all crisp. Also I forgot to mention the waist on my has locking points
Hey Ben, if you get the Ocean waterslide decals (and preferably use mark setter and mark softer), the insignia will contour to the battle-damaged chest piece so that it fits into all the cracks. Uncle Billy sells them. They're usually called "water applique" on eBay.
Yup, I agree, IMO this is the best Meg I've seen. If I buy this, Im gonna have to get MPP10 , OS SScream, OS Ironhide, OS Bbee. But if they downsize to MP scale, then no need for me to start a new scale.
As much as I love this figure, my only complaint is that more die cast could’ve been used! He’s actually pretty light compared to the WJ OS Prime, Prime has some good weight to him but all in all this version of Megs is great and having OS Megs and Prime look amazing together!
IMO, this looks like the best Megatron that I've seen so far.Even thought it looks nothing like him, I'm seriously impressed with the included Laserbeak.
It is very cool, the gun transformation looks so much simpler than mp36 and the difference with the feet incorporating one of the mp36 accessories into the transformation is a brilliant difference, only thing that let's it down compared to the mp36 is the chest plate looking abit flat and lifeless but a small issue, brilliant review Ben always find your videos so helpful when making decisions on what to buy.

Weijiang is killing it with these oversized KOs! Wonder what oversized masterpiece they're going to do next? Now that they have OSed Ironhide... perhaps Rachet since they only differ in color and certain small details. Personally, I want them to OS Shockwave and Soundwave!

WOW, just WOW... what an incredible figure, beautiful and close to perfect robot mode, nice gun mode, and the transformation is so beautifuly simple and smart at the same time, one of the best figures I have ever seen. I was going to star soon an MP collection (being a students makes buying figures like those hard) in the official MP scale. But after watching this I'm not sure... should I wait and hope for a downscale version of this o get oversized figures? is there any good oversized Wheeljack (one of my favourite characters) with the same scale as this one? I'd hardly consider this a KO. Even though it borrows heavily from ideas found in other versions of Megatron there is tons of original engineering in this figure as well as completely unique molding.
I just noticed that weijiang has announced an Omega Supreme. You MUST review that figure as soon as you can get your hands on one! I base a lot of my purchases on your reviews and Omega is definitely a big investment so I want to get it right!
Agreed! Received my NE-01 last week and started tonight transforming it. It took me almost 2 hours(!) to figure it out, watching this video step by step. "Just pull the like out this way." Me pulling the leg out just like Ben. Me keeps pulling as there is no movement. Using a bit more force. And just a tad more force... Dislocating the entire leg. Figuring out the way the joints are fastened, checking the other leg that did come out, checking again, putting back the leg the way it was, pulling again, and again and finally it came out the way it's supposed to do so. Had a few other steps when some parts were in the way, but the manual nor Ben did mention them. However, finally I did manage to transform Megs into a gun, but this was the first and the last time.
A much more clean gun mode than the MP36 and a great great great thing that the stock is part of the figure instead of an extra part ... It would have been great if the silencer and the gun stock were longer ...
I like it but I still wish they just went and oversized the masterpiece mold. The MP is by far the most accurate to the cartoon and movie than any other megatron. Even though wei's is cleaner, it lacks in the leg department ...im stuck to get either especially since I will definitely be getting the mega scale megatron by toys alliance, at $200 it is very hard to pass up at a 1/4 size.
Hi Ben. Greetings from the Philippines! I've just bought Megatron and Ironhide yesterday and I was so excited and happy to have them. By the way, I've discovered that Lazerbeak in its bird mode, at the back of its feet it seems there's a magnet hidden there. When I put Lazerbeak on Megatron's raised and stretched left arm, it attached itself on to it It seems Megatron's left arm has a metal inside it.
takara's face has painted "blood" but its in white, and the sculpt of the battle damaged chest looks almost identical (same dints in same places) but the fact the chest on takara's is in gloss kinda helps. Takara should of used this grey plastic rather than the paint they used, while its nice it made him unforgiving in transformation because the clearances are minimal. I honestly believe takara should have done something like this, keep mp36's legs but upper half of megamaster, that'd be perfect
Something's not right in gun mode but bot mode and transformation is incredible! I will wait for the second run of this mold before I jump on board. He will go down as different versions of him come out. I would have pre ordered from the start if I didn't put my hands on robot heros starscream. The quality alone on that piece has me waiting for thier version of meggs.
I just got this guy in the mail. I ordered a THF-03 Megatron, but was sent this Megamaster instead from a seller on eBay. The guy is refunding some of my money on this because there was no returns. I was a little disappointed at first, but he is kinda growing on me. He is the same size as my MP-01 and looks better next to him then the original Masterpiece Megatron. But he kinda doesn't have a place in my collection. He seems like he has to be on a separate shelf somewhere.
i'm surprised there isn't a upgrade kit for this guy yet i mean really no upgraded silencer and scope and no new faces and no upgraded hands aka fully articulated hands
The MP-36 market is flooded with the different takes of the MP scale (i know, this is oversized) yet no one has capitalized on downscaling Megs like KBB did MP10 by giving us a voyager sized version.
When you made a rewiev (especially about weijiang oversize) you have to put more mesurements (especially the distance between the grip and the triggerin the case of mpp36 ) cause some people may be not able to handle the whole thing!
Hi Ben, I got the figure and love it, but can't get the armpit small mechanisms that fold in and out. There seems to be no purpose but an aesthetic one, however they hinder the arm movement if unfold. Did you find out why are they there for or are we on the same page? Cheers
What are the chances they'll make a regular masterpiece scale version of this figure? I'd love this in my collection if so, and might even sell my MP36 for it.
They really need to do a run of these in normal MP scale, I would buy it immediately. Sadly the OS scale is just more than I have room on my shelves and in my wallet for. Also, any idea if the stock/feet portion is removable in gun mode?
Gun was actually dropped by Shrapnel as Optimus Prime runs him over, if you look closely when Prime rams the decepticons before facing off against Megatron, you see Shrapnel drop his gun. Of course this gun looks nothing like Shrapnel's gun but I believe that was the original intention

Very neat how the stock is incorporated into the actual figure, rather than being just an extra accessory. It plays into the transformation very well.

Definitely gonna pick this and deformation era mpp10 up. They look amazing together and they actually cost less than their masterpiece counterparts.
I want Wei Jiang to mix 3rd Party and official Transformers more often. Imagine an oversized Starscream that mixes MP-11 and Howling Meteor.

It’s funny… I think this thing is largely inspired by MP-5. Lots of sliding bits and a weird hidden armature.

Mpp10 nailed new legs and diecast chest. Needed to do the same here. Overall v. good. Robot Hero version next...

When I put Lazerbeak on Megatron's raised and stretched left arm, it attached itself on to it It seems Megatron's left arm has a metal inside it.
takara's face has painted "blood" but its in white, and the sculpt of the battle damaged chest looks almost identical (same dints in same places) but the fact the chest on takara's is in gloss kinda helps.
Takara should of used this grey plastic rather than the paint they used, while its nice it made him unforgiving in transformation because the clearances are minimal.
I honestly believe takara should have done something like this, keep mp36's legs but upper half of megamaster, that'd be perfect
Something's not right in gun mode but bot mode and transformation is incredible! I will wait for the second run of this mold before I jump on board. He will go down as different versions of him come out. I would have pre ordered from the start if I didn't put my hands on robot heros starscream. The quality alone on that piece has me waiting for thier version of meggs.
I just got this guy in the mail. I ordered a THF-03 Megatron, but was sent this Megamaster instead from a seller on eBay. The guy is refunding some of my money on this because there was no returns. I was a little disappointed at first, but he is kinda growing on me. He is the same size as my MP-01 and looks better next to him then the original Masterpiece Megatron. But he kinda doesn't have a place in my collection. He seems like he has to be on a separate shelf somewhere.

Hopefully bb7 makes an upgrade kit for this like they did with MPP10. So that way he will also have fully articulated hands.

i'm surprised there isn't a upgrade kit for this guy yet i mean really no upgraded silencer and scope and no new faces and no upgraded hands aka fully articulated hands
The MP-36 market is flooded with the different takes of the MP scale (i know, this is oversized) yet no one has capitalized on downscaling Megs like KBB did MP10 by giving us a voyager sized version.
I prefer Mp-36’s chest and legs but this has an overall better aesthetic with the less panel lines.

When you made a rewiev (especially about weijiang oversize) you have to put more mesurements (especially the distance between the grip and the triggerin the case of mpp36 ) cause some people may be not able to handle the whole thing!

Hi Ben, I got the figure and love it, but can't get the armpit small mechanisms that fold in and out. There seems to be no purpose but an aesthetic one, however they hinder the arm movement if unfold. Did you find out why are they there for or are we on the same page? Cheers

What are the chances they'll make a regular masterpiece scale version of this figure? I'd love this in my collection if so, and might even sell my MP36 for it.
They really need to do a run of these in normal MP scale, I would buy it immediately. Sadly the OS scale is just more than I have room on my shelves and in my wallet for. Also, any idea if the stock/feet portion is removable in gun mode?

Not when you already have 23 MP scaled figures you would need to replace/cannot replace with an OS version.
I'm in the thread that they responded to, and they stated they have no plans on doing it.
That really sucks, hopefully they will eventually, otherwise I have the official MP 36 on order from Japan and I will have to live with him for now.

Gun was actually dropped by Shrapnel as Optimus Prime runs him over, if you look closely when Prime rams the decepticons before facing off against Megatron, you see Shrapnel drop his gun. Of course this gun looks nothing like Shrapnel's gun but I believe that was the original intention
