Anne Bonney, his lover did more crimes. So naming Yorki Calico might be referencing the low infamy and cowardice of what everybody thinks happened to them

An interesting theory I have seen float around with Yorkie is that he was the person that Gloriosa (Grandma Nyon) fell in love with on Amazon Lily. The citizens of the island barely leave and we know that Yorkie and the dozen of them took the ship into the calm belt. Amazon Lily is in the calm belt and it is already possible Yorkie survived. What if Nyon ended up saving Yorkie's life and that is when he ended up getting her love sickness and left with Yorkie? Timing wise, it could fit together fairly well.

To answer your question regarding the piano: I've played the piano forever, but it's definitely one of the easiest instruments to start playing. Since you essentially just hit a key and automatically get a nice sound, the entry barrier is super low. So simple pieces are very, very easy to learn. Since the concept of the piano is super simple, the pieces get more demanding, so mastering it is super hard in comparison. Learning a single piece or song is really not that hard though. So binks sake you can learn in a few days to a month I'd reckon, if you choose a simple enough version.

Here’s my theory : It is possible that the remaining survivors with Yorki died before they could receive help however just before Yorki was about to die, Yorki landed on the outskirts of Amazon lily and Princess Nyon found and took care of him and eventually fell in love with him she caught the love sickness and in order to save her life she had no choice but to leave with Yorki but being the princess of the Kuja at that time and deserting her people was seen as treason therefore maybe her predecessors decided instead of killing her they would exile her
I think the odds of him surviving are slim to none, but Brook coming back to see Laboon only to find Yorki is alive as well would make me cry as long as One Piece lasted.
The guy meeting crocus cant be Yorkie even if he is alive, that would ruin Brook's whole dream. If one of the people Laboon is waiting for comes back offscreen its less impactful when Brook does it

I think this is what happened as well but Kuma Saved Him & he ended up joining the Marines for Immunity so he can look for his old crew without Marines going after him. Also think there is a chance that through Kuma That Jack met Bonnie & that they might be the biological parents of Kody.
What if greenbull is yorki and he has to fight brook? That would be a pretty epic if not emotional fight like ussop and luffy only on a much higher scale for higher stakes considering marine vs pirate

Matt, your goal with the piano is very similar to mine, particularly I got into it because I was told that "in general the piano is a very good base to play other instruments" and "is one of the most difficult instruments," so just go for it, it may cost at first, but piano is simple, especially if you only want to learn one or two songs. The piano can be as easy or as hard as what you're playing on it. I'd say on the more complex pieces, it's one of the more difficult instruments simply because you might be playing a lead with one hand and a rhythm with the other, so you basically have to maintain two distinct thoughts at the same time, which is way harder than it sounds. I can play a song or two on piano, but I mainly play guitar.
I totally thought you were going in this direction Tekking, but you didn't SO: After hearing you say that the real life counterparts to jewelery Bonnie and Yorkie traveled together, So isn't it possible Ohda mirrored that aspect as well, Jewelery Bonnie saving Yorkie (Possibly the rest of his crew that remained with him as well) And taking them on as her cremated, Its possible they even went back to find Brooke and the rest but were unable becuase of the nature of the triangle. That could explain the blonde haired figure as well, Bonnie could easily have Yorkie at any age she'd like, even back in his prime while he is in reality a 90 year old man. I think if Yorkie really is alive Bonnie is going to be in the center of that plot point.

Learning to be good enough to play one song is definitely feasible, though it may take you a couple of years - speaking as a Music Major that happily took the required semesters to learn. Serious theory: The prirates the Rumbar pirates fought were The Rocks, maybe even the crew Xebec apprenticed under before striking it out on his own. Piano is one of the easiest instruments to start with or get into music with. I say go for it my dude, you can totally do it. I play piano, guitar, and saxophone and piano is by far the most casual/easiest of the 3 to learn and play at an intermediate level. At least in my experience. The only thing I can't stress enough is that you should get a full size 88-key keyboard. Anything smaller and you will feel regret when you inevitably come across things you cannot play.
Just remembering, but perhaps Roger and Whitebeard were poisoned around the same time, since Roger was stated as being a rookie at that time, and Whitebeard was probably already on Rocks' crew. Several delivery methods come to mind and that's where I get weary. I see 3 or 4 fruits that could do it, Queen's weapons, Vegapunk ... We would need to know how they were poisoned specifically.

It could be that Oda leaves things vague on purpose just so he can make something out of it later, but we all know how he is!
Every character that "moves on" and becomes a Baker will show up in the last arc to bake the biggest, best Wedding Cake for Big Mom during a Hunger Pang. I swear, Odas ability to seamlessly weave characters into the story after leaving them out for so long is astounding lmao
Someone probably noted this but there was a point for the illness. Them trying the miracle escape from grand line is the reason why crokus thinks they ran away from grand line. That is also why it needed to be the original ship. Not saying the theory couldn't be true just that there has already been a reason for the illness. To fit the rumba pirates story to the one Crokus was telling.
I always thought the most obvious reason to why they had to split is to make the explanation that Crocus got for their absence to make sense. The captain of the crew was confirmed to have tried to escape through the calm belt, so it goes to reason that that's one of the few things that people might remember all those years later when he came looking for them.
The lil reference to the DnD tho xD I like the idea of Yorki being alive still it feels like he was fully set up to not get poisoned and come back later in the story. I can't think of a good reason for him to appear right now but I def believe he could still be alive.
Hey tekking. This is just my head cannon. But what if Yorkie survived and eventually found Brooks ship before he revived and found a reincarnated YomiYomi no mi in the ship. Consumed it, lived long after that, and then revived too. Maybe he's Admiral Green Bull. Maybe that's the reason why Green bull doesn't need to Eat.
I'd love for Brook to come back to Reverse Mountain, sit down with Yorki, Crocus and Laboon, put down the dial and all four of them together with Rumbar crew to sing Bink's sake, finally together. Friendship that lasted through decades, plagues and even death. Brook's epilogue being him traveling all over the world, singing of the glorious adventures of the Strawhat crew and the insanities awaiting in the Grand Line.
You know what would be awesome in the current arc, Brooks Soul attack the one he did in Toto Land was upgraded. Like make it a much more AOE skill and a spectral band shows up in the shape of his dead crewmates

I think the reason Yorkie got sick and had to leave the grand line thematically was to cover the rumor that Crocus heard that they fled the grand line. Oda had to have a way to explain why Crocus said that. And I don't think he had Brooke's story planned out at that point.
I feel like you are forgetting the purpose that them getting the disease had. This caused that part of the crew to leave the grandline which made crocus think that they had left, making brook story much more powerful once we heard it.
It wasn’t either, I doubt either of those crews would use poised weapons, especially germa they pride themselves on their tech, besides it was 50 years ago so I really doubt it.
I guess with the 2 poisoning is that 1st time it felt like there was hope 2nd time it hits hard because it shows how dangerous the new world is. That even when there is hope despair still seeps in. Capable to take an entire crew's dream.
I believed for awhile now Yorky some how got saved by Kuma & that Yorky & Bonnie Met through this interaction & has a kid this kid turned out to be Koby who went out to join the Marines because Yorky joined the Marines to get resources to find His old crew without becoming wanted by the Marines. Grew through the Ranks & Became Green Bull.
Even if that mysterious man with Crocus was Yorki. How the hell would he get to Wano? Here’s what I believe happened, Yorki is probably dead. After Brook bought the second ship the sick Rumbar Crew attempted to leave the grand line and were killed and that was the story that was told to Crocus when he went on his adventure with Roger.
Maybe Calico Jack was also the original name Oda was going to give brook before deciding to make the walking skeleton his own creation, amd not a reference. (Or just refering that brook worked with such a great pirate to give his character some clout)
I'm someone who plays the piano and I will tell you that learning the piano is easy but it is difficult to fully master. Bink's brew is easy to learn though.
I had to stop and think about this one. I have no clue if Yorki is alive or not. But for some reason I think he is somehow tied to the Germa 66. Part of it is how many features Sanji and him share. And either to trap or protect part of the crew could explain the splitting the crew. Could just be my headcanon though.

Green Bull was not a Marine until after Akainus and Aokijis fight. He and Fujitora were specifically drafted to become Admirals.

The piano can be as easy or as hard as what you're playing on it. I'd say on the more complex pieces, it's one of the more difficult instruments simply because you might be playing a lead with one hand and a rhythm with the other, so you basically have to maintain two distinct thoughts at the same time, which is way harder than it sounds. I can play a song or two on piano, but I mainly play guitar.

I totally thought you were going in this direction Tekking, but you didn't SO: After hearing you say that the real life counterparts to jewelery Bonnie and Yorkie traveled together, So isn't it possible Ohda mirrored that aspect as well, Jewelery Bonnie saving Yorkie (Possibly the rest of his crew that remained with him as well) And taking them on as her cremated, Its possible they even went back to find Brooke and the rest but were unable becuase of the nature of the triangle. That could explain the blonde haired figure as well, Bonnie could easily have Yorkie at any age she'd like, even back in his prime while he is in reality a 90 year old man. I think if Yorkie really is alive Bonnie is going to be in the center of that plot point.

Then after he ate the fruit it activated the power which caused him to get ill and surrender himself to the marine so he can die and be ressurected, and that is LUFFY and so his journey restarts again. and it will repeat again and again then laugh caused he made it again haha.. maybe because of the will that zorro and rayleigh has the same mark on their eye and rayleigh's wife looks the same as robin and then maybe the twist is that luffy has had a devil fruit with his encounter of shanks for the first time of his endless journey being a pirate that he cannot eat the fruit again there's a lot of maybe cause this is just my theory. lets just wait for our ODA.

Learning to be good enough to play one song is definitely feasible, though it may take you a couple of years - speaking as a Music Major that happily took the required semesters to learn. I feel you there as much as I do about lacking a space to properly keep up the practice / maintain a keyboard or piano.
Serious theory: The prirates the Rumbar pirates fought were The Rocks, maybe even the crew Xebec apprenticed under before striking it out on his own.
Crack theory: the healthy Rumbar pirates that Yorky sent away were the only ones that didn't know Yorkie was about to marry the ship, he found it way too awkward to tell them so he split the crew instead.

Piano is one of the easiest instruments to start with or get into music with. I say go for it my dude, you can totally do it.
I play piano, guitar, and saxophone and piano is by far the most casual/easiest of the 3 to learn and play at an intermediate level. At least in my experience.
The only thing I can't stress enough is that you should get a full size 88-key keyboard. Anything smaller and you will feel regret when you inevitably come across things you cannot play.

Just remembering, but perhaps Roger and Whitebeard were poisoned around the same time, since Roger was stated as being a rookie at that time, and Whitebeard was probably already on Rocks' crew. Several delivery methods come to mind and that's where I get weary. I see 3 or 4 fruits that could do it, Queen's weapons, Vegapunk ... We would need to know how they were poisoned specifically.

I do think that if Yorkie survived and is that guy we see drinking with Crocus it could be the work of a Devil Fruit! I do think not everything needs to be connected but this is Oda we're talking about. We had a long backstory involving Sabo and he ended up being fleshed out later and carrying out Ace's will. It could be that Oda leaves things vague on purpose just so he can make something out of it later, but we all know how he is!

That is also why it needed to be the original ship. Not saying the theory couldn't be true just that there has already been a reason for the illness. To fit the rumba pirates story to the one Crokus was telling.

I like the idea of Yorki being alive still it feels like he was fully set up to not get poisoned and come back later in the story. I can't think of a good reason for him to appear right now but I def believe he could still be alive.

I think the reason Yorkie got sick and had to leave the grand line thematically was to cover the rumor that Crocus heard that they fled the grand line. Oda had to have a way to explain why Crocus said that. And I don't think he had Brooke's story planned out at that point.

@tekking101 maybe the thematic purpose of yorki leaving was for brook to carry on his will on a smaller scale. The will being reuniting with laboon.
I feel like you are forgetting the purpose that them getting the disease had. This caused that part of the crew to leave the grandline which made crocus think that they had left, making brook story much more powerful once we heard it.

Here’s what I believe happened, Yorki is probably dead. After Brook bought the second ship the sick Rumbar Crew attempted to leave the grand line and were killed and that was the story that was told to Crocus when he went on his adventure with Roger.

I'm someone who plays the piano and I will tell you that learning the piano is easy but it is difficult to fully master. Bink's brew is easy to learn though.
I had to stop and think about this one. I have no clue if Yorki is alive or not. But for some reason I think he is somehow tied to the Germa 66. Part of it is how many features Sanji and him share. And either to trap or protect part of the crew could explain the splitting the crew. Could just be my headcanon though.
