    Fun fact
    The new CR series combines use the same gearbox on the back of the engine as the tr96
    The box was a major over engineer for the TR, its rated to 1000hp
    I dout its identical but the basic internals and design are a match
    The bin extensions are electric folded.of theyre a proper closed bin
    If they dont fully seal then they're a manual close amd open
    That what we run in Australia
    We only close them for cleaning
    We're running an older 9070 (older version of this one videoed)
    And a new 9.90

The makers of these machines would do well to actually ask you what they need to do, as I don't think you would compromise yourself and tell them what they want to hear. Not that they will do that, I think your robust style would scare them away. LoL.

    Can you make a video about what you put on your hay fields? Lime, fertilizer, manure, compost.... You always make an awesome crop of hay and I'm interested in how you do it exactly, how many tons you put on per acre and stuff like that. Thanks for the awesome video's!

  • @moose7660
    @moose7660 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've put 17000 acres on a Big M 420 and about 4000 on a Big M 450. I've also run a Big M 1 and 2. The 420 and 450 have a nicer cab and monitor. I love the redesign of the 450 but the 420 will out mow the 450. I don't know why but in heavy crop the 420 can go faster. Also they all only go 25mph on the road.

  • @CATGVO
    @CATGVO 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Big M's only go 40km/h, yea maybe 1 or 2 more but that is it. 400 and 420 are the same as Big M2, same problems and a few updates. For the big win take a 450, it is completely redesigned, more power, less fuel consumption roadspeed at 1200rpm/ mowing at 1600rpm, up to 25km/h mow speed, mow drivetrain with propshafts, easyer controls etc.
    The downside of the Big M's still are the weight, width, height and the bad driveability
    on the roads. Well my opinion by running the machines in the holiday period of my fellow worker
    s.
    Test them before buying, try at least 100 to 150 acres of mowing.

      @@f0rumrr triple mowers turn a tractor into self propelled mower with wing mowers hooked to 3 point so same as big m but can drop mowers off and utilize tractor elsewhere. However if can't use an existing tractor than the big m is more feasible. It does look like the big m can merge when cutting which would work good if used in corn stalks.

    The only thing that scares me about those newer machines is all the added electronic stuff..... I think the combines from the early to late 2000s are probably the best combine era, with New Holland's CRs being awesome. There is a nice balance between electronic and mechanical with failsafes. Even from your TR to the newer machines they do have very similar characteristics.

    Flails are better any way. Compression rollers are nice until you run something through them that you didn't see... cost of repairs is way too much.
    Price wise on those machines, depends on your operation if it's too much or not. Get yourself a lowboy trailer or 2 and do your own hauling, that would help you with travel speed. Now, with those mowers, you're still going to have an issue of looking behind you on both your right and left sides. Now days, everyone is after comfort. Great video, cheers :)
    P.S. NH should've just stayed in haying equipment but, it is what it is. Never cared for NH once they bought out Ford.

    Instead of buying a big m why don’t you buy a newer tractor and run a triple mower set up on it? Yeah it will cost more forsure but wouldn’t it be benifical to have an extra tractor in the yard for those just incase moments
