- Our new combine was delivered today, so we decided to put it head to head with the old combine in a 1v1 challenge. The new combine is literally 2.5x the machine so there was not much competition, but it was still fun to watch. Welcome to Cornstar Farms.

Even the "cheap" combine is a stupidly large investment for a machine that does just one job.

I'd keep going into the night no matter what combine you have
They should get done cutting their crops in fewer days with this large combine

If you were new to the channel and saw this video from where you have them dancing in the field you would be hard-pressed to tell which one is older by the looks of them. That's a testament to how well the little combine is taken care of, well done.

Ok...I have to say first thing...Get the snow OUT of the hoppers on the combines or it'll start rusting! (I am NO farmer so I'm sure you all know what'll damage your machines). Secondly, Cole's apparent excitement over the new combine is wonderful to see in a 23 year old farmer LOL! Hope that combine is everything you all need and more!

I have to say you guys keep your equipment in fantastic shape. I run a trucking company that hauls milk from farms. And I seriously doubt that any farmer around here has a tractor in half as good of shape as your 2001 combine. nice work!...

really terrific camera work on the "comparison" part with the two combines. The drone shots overhead with the upbeat music were excellent. Who wouldn't want the larger combine with that ground-munching traction!
Two of the smaller combines would be more productive, and drastically cheaper then one extremely expensive new one. But need two operators and more maintenance.
You may think so, but no. Its simply not more productive. The 2388 can push an 8 row corn head at 3.5 in good corn. The 9230 could push 4 to 4.5 with a 16.
So fun to see all the Cornstar guys out there doing a combine comparison with drone photography! The combines, waxed and shining on the snow, really were beautiful! The traction difference was amazing! Happy new combine Cornstars!

If Daddy Cornstar wouldn't have stopped before climbing the hill and used the momentum of moving ahead like Coop did in the track machine the old machine would have shown itself much better -- but the tracks would normally have better traction across washouts and up hills
We know that. Why bring that up when this is an excellent video that Cole obviously put a lot of time and effort into. Instead of being happy for the Cornstars you have to complain. Just my humble opinion.

Boys and their toys!!! With a little fabrication, maybe Cooper could somehow fit a big snow-blower on the front of the 9230. With 580HP, it should be able to handle around a 20 foot wide snow-blower. Cooper could pick up a little extra money by removing snow from the county and/or state roads, and a few driveways.

2 things....1) you had a TON of aftermarket addon's on the old combine from AG leader and the feelers do you have to rebuy all of that equipment for the new combine? 2) that single pane windows looks like it's costs half the cost of the combine have you gotten insurance on that glass for when daddy cornstar get's to drive it?
Yeah, that C9 combine (well-maintained) will last 15+ years. Looks great.

I really liked your comparison! What a huge upgrade that is! The specs alone were impressive to compare but then to see the way that the two machines performed in the snow with rubber tracks versus tires and 2 Wheel Dr. versus four-wheel-drive, that clearly show that hands-down you guys have a machine that you won’t need to replace ever

Hi Cole, congratulations on your new purchase, to further push up your TH-cam ratings you should keep both combines for next harvest and feed grain from the big combine straight into the hopper of the small combine as it unloads into the chaser cart with both combines harvesting at the same time. You will need the winter months to practice this manoeuvre without colliding!

The tracks are a big plus, you'll have way less compaction -> less problem for no-till planting and the bigger combine will also be a big plus, you'll be able to cover more ground faster when the conditions are good and don't destroy the structure for years to come.

Always better to get more than what you need now. It’s a never ending cycle though, because now you’ll need more ground, but with more ground you need more bins, then it’s more trucks, but then another combine to improve efficiency and all of a sudden your 2 or 3 combines in and farming 5-6 thousand acres. Great purchase and glad it worked with your budget. Happy new year.

As we say up here in New England, that new combine is “wicked pissah”. It’s way too big for any farms around here but we can still admire it.
Few around Maine have bigger, one has a 9 series forage harvester, others use krone. We have some monstrous potato equipment in northern maine

I think someone was holding wheel brakes on the old one in this “comparison” 😂😂
No, someone was NOT holding any brakes !!!! The brake for the spinning wheel should have been held to stop the spin and transfer the torque to the non-turing wheel. That's how a differential works. Most any farmer or truck driver knows that. Wake up, Daddy Corn Star.
@@jimbaxter4600 When the combine operator is in the seat, they cannot see their wheels at all and so it’s impossible to know which wheel is slipping unless you have some indicator on the combine that tells you that you have wheel slippage and tells you which wheel is slipping… Which the 2388 does not have. Therefore somebody would have needed to tell daddy corn star that the wheel was slipping and which one
7:07 you can see him put his foot on the right brake pedal to make it start spinning and then letting off of it once it’s slipping! I love all there videos but I’m gonna have to call a little bit of BS on this one
