Thanks. Another easy way to remember 25-OH-D3 and 1-25 OH D3 is: we have only one liver so only one (OH). and we have two kidneys so 2 (OH)s for Vit D. Hope this helps :D
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot the login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me
Listen pillock , they are all fat soluble vitamins. If you are complaining about the retinoic acid it is the same thing as vitamin A , it was just suppose to help with the mnemonic. I guess you probably don't know the difference anyway so what's the point explaining it to a lonely troll who knows how to press a spacebar
Is there a way to update this video because there's definitely some missing information that's now important in Step1 (i.e., how vitamin E deficiency commonly presents like vitamin B12 deficiency). Also, a reminder that getting the fat-soluble vitamins are lost in diseases like Celiacs, CF, etc. Could you also create a water-soluble vitamin video with all the associated enzyme reactions, deficiency symptoms, etc.?
As someone with celiac disease, the gluten ataxia was due to vitamin e/b12 deficiency due to my Eosinophilic gastritis which lead to severe b12 and folate deficiency......brava
I actually got a few uworld practice questions about the Neuro problems associated with Vit E. So might be worth mentioning that. Amazing video as always!
Hmmmm I would remember it as OH2- You have 2 Kidneys. Meaning OH is the Liver and the Liver is where you store bile so that's where is stores Vitamin D.
Neurologic presentation may appear similar to vitamin B12 deficiency, but without megaloblastic anemia, hypersegmented neutrophils, or serum methylmalonic acid levels- culled from USMLE First Aid.
Just one more thing about vitamin D, you can remember 1,25 OH D3 is in the kidney because that’s where 1 alpha hydroxylase is located (PCT of kidney). Idk that always helped me.
Hi DirtyUSMLE, I want to thank you for your great videos, they've been more than helpful, however, I am unable to access the video on water-soluble vitamins which was great and I was wondering if you could re-upload it or something. I really need/want it back. Thank you!
For vitamin D part - excellent I just wish it also included the names. I always get tripped on the names, ie cholecalciferol(D3), ergocalciferol(D2). For Vitamin E I have gotten a few questions on Qbanks making the point that deficiency results in neurological dysfunction due to demyelination of the posterior columns.
All 4 practice exams I've taken have had a question about low vitamin E causing neurological impairment similar to B12. One practice exam asks this twice. 5 questions in 4 practice exams... this is exceedingly high yield info missing from this video!
Although vitamin D activates osteoclasts, it do so to increase calcium in our body and that calcium will help rebuilding bones using Parathyroid hormone. So indirectly the net effect will be bone growth. and too much of Vit D will cause toxicity and bone resorption.
The only thing we can get from the sun is energy, this guy has just gone down in my estimation Maybe I'm being pedantic, but he's supposed to be an expert

love this!
It means a lot ❤thanks
Thanks 👍🏻
I remember the Vitamin D forms by noting that for 25-OH-D3, one hydroxy group = one liver, and for 1,25(OH2)-D3, two hydroxy groups = two kidneys.
I'm "thumbing up" your message but don't want to change the number of thumbs up from 25 :p
👍
👍👍👍
dude nice!
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?

D- vit D
R A- Retinoic Acid ( vit A)
K- vit K
E- vit E
so you can include the R in the mnemonic as well
:)
Thanks
Wonderful
Its not fat soluble tho u idiot

Yup, I watched this video specifically looking for info about the neuro stuff with vitamin E deficiency since I missed questions about it.
As someone with celiac disease, the gluten ataxia was due to vitamin e/b12 deficiency due to my Eosinophilic gastritis which lead to severe b12 and folate deficiency......brava
Water soluble vitamins video is not available.
it was great
could you please re-upload ?
thank you
vitamin E deficiency can mimic B12 neurologic sx w/o megaloblastic anemia, in the setting of a cf pt
Friedreich Ataxia too
I actually got a few uworld practice questions about the Neuro problems associated with Vit E. So might be worth mentioning that. Amazing video as always!
Hi I'm inlove with you already
got a Uworld question in GI path section about Vit-E....
Hmmmm I would remember it as OH2- You have 2 Kidneys. Meaning OH is the Liver and the Liver is where you store bile so that's where is stores Vitamin D.
In Arabic countries we use AKED "أكيد" which means "Sure"
or KEDA; Egyptian version ;)

Nice timing uploading the video. Today’s the day of my exam and your videos really helped me a lot. BIG THANKS !!
Did you see alot of things on your exam that you learned from the videos? I take my exam a month from now
Vitamin K1 = clotting factors, K2 = control of calcium deposition
form of K = function - update, please
Just one more thing about vitamin D, you can remember 1,25 OH D3 is in the kidney because that’s where 1 alpha hydroxylase is located (PCT of kidney). Idk that always helped me.

Vit D 0:30 Vit A 5:17 Vit K 6:52 Vit E 8:48

Vitamin e is important to fight of Ros and it also promote the production of testosterone, glucsgoncamd insulin
My man is back in business! Thank u
great video! may God bless you!!!
Haha first comment! success! Great video man, love your work. How about one for Antibiotics -- and maybe the other antimicrobials
Hello, can you please do water-soluble vitamins?
Vitamin E helps with the myelination of neurons.
Umm The Simpsons taught me that Vitamin R most certainly is a vitamin but it's only found in Malk.
All 4 practice exams I've taken have had a question about low vitamin E causing neurological impairment similar to B12. One practice exam asks this twice. 5 questions in 4 practice exams... this is exceedingly high yield info missing from this video!
You are a freaking legend my man
You are the best! Thank you so so so so much
Small suggestion bro...if u like it only..vit k we can add (K)carboxylation
Would the 2 of (OH2) not need to be outside the brackets in subscript to show 2x OH groups?
Don’t forget vit “A” treats “A”PML too
Amazing video! Thanks a lot ❤
Could you please reupload the water soluble vitamin video. It would really be of great help
As usual precise n awesome
Buddy you're ideas r unique
Thanks this should help me on my test
You can also think of Vit D in binary: 0 = off / 1 = on
Thank you so much🎉
thanks
They not like us
What you mean
Can't find the video on water soluble vitamins. 😓
Thank you
could you please do a video on water soluble vitamins
In Germany we use the name of a popular supermarket chain EDEKA 😂👍🏻 But DrAKE is great as well 😍
I wonder who are these haters giving dislikes
vitamin D arent they absorb in the iluem
Doesn't vit D increase the activity of osteoblasts and not osteoclast..?
Vit D increase bone mineralization at low dose and increase bone resorption at high doses
2 kinda look like an L for the liver and 1,2 look like a K when you write it out, so that's how i remember where each vit D derivatives are made loll
Great video. Absolutely high yield and really important to know.
I'm dirty minded, so I just think of Vitamin DEAK
thank you!!!!
Can we please have water soluble video
How can Vitamin D be essential for the bones if it activates "osteoclasts" ?
Although vitamin D activates osteoclasts, it do so to increase calcium in our body and that calcium will help rebuilding bones using Parathyroid hormone. So indirectly the net effect will be bone growth. and too much of Vit D will cause toxicity and bone resorption.
omg why was this video so fast???
Never eat polar bear liver
too much vitamin A
Literally from listening to drake 😂😂😂 and the intro starts with drake this is crazy
Thanx dude
Not enough vitamin D in milk either :)
Massive thank you!
This is a good didi to go by! Respect sir!
Except Jay-z is the first and only rap billionaire but you know semantics.
hova!
ugh outdated info....
I prefer the mnemonic you mentioned in the first part. Don't be ADEK, eat your vitamins hehe xd
could you please re_ upload water soluble vitamins its my humble request
Know I should study only this thing or I have to study the metabolism of each vitamins
Drake 😍😍😍😍
😬🧡👍🧡👍❤️👍🧡👍🧡❤️
