Honestly, I would drop the man if he seriously is okay with sister being in charge of the baby after that. Like… not only did she purposely almost kill your baby for laughs she hid it because she knew it wasn’t actually okay and thinks it’s fine and therefore would do it again. Even if sister apologized now it we be that she regrets getting caught. I can kinda sorta understand that the ops mom is trying to get her daughters to be okay again but to be okay with your baby being watched by a child abuser is just F’ed

Infact I'd be worried about animals, elderly and anyone or thing that can't protect themselves honestly. You weren't harsh enough.
If it was me, immediately after i see that video i would save it, (screen record incase they delete it from the internet) and call my lawyer and take the sister to court.
Its not just the fact she dropped a baby in the water, but let her sit there for 7+ seconds, but also there are many ways that could have gone wrong. Baby could've drowned, the baby could've hit its head on the deck, the impact of the water could've easily hurt the baby, there could've been dangerous things in the water, or the baby could've cause a cold or disease. Babies are very sensitive.
Dont listen to any of your family when they say "just keep the peace with your sister"
She tried to kill your baby for views. And if she follows one of the stupid trends for views and doesn't see anything wrong with it, she WILL do it again.

News flash unless you’re constantly taking your child to swim sessions from birth that reflex fades over time. Babies instinctively know how to swim at birth because of amniotic fluid so if they haven’t been to a pool or anything like that they forget it within the first year of life. The only thing that anyone remembers vaguely is to kick. A 1+ child isn’t going to remember to hold their breath

As someone who had a drowning scare when I was young, I can confidently say mom is NTA. I almost drowned when I rocked my diaper style ring floaty the wrong way down, with my legs kicking up in the air. My whole body was suddenly underwater and the floaty was keeping me stuck there. I was only under for 4 or 5 seconds but I was so confused and scared I immediately inhaled water. Luckily, my parents did not find the situation funny and immediately dove in to get me out of the pool. My dad pulled me out and patted my back real hard until all of the water came up. None of the kids ever used that floaty again. I was maybe 3 or 4 and that was terrifying enough without someone RECORDING IT FOR LIKES ON SOCIAL MEDIA TO LAUGH AT THE SITUATION?!?? This aunt is in her 30s. Keep the peace without compromising on the fact what she did was dangerous.

Of course some people are lenient with family but what the sister did was not only cruel putting a child in danger for “fun” but also filming a child without a parents consent. (I know there are those lessons where you put the kids in a pool to learn how to float and all that but that’s in a controlled environment with people experienced near by)

Her excuse was she had 2 cousins there to get her… do those cousins happen to also know child CPR if it were necessary or the protocol for a drowning baby?
Unless that child had been receiving swimming lessons by a licensed professional, it should not have been dropped in the water for any reason.
Also, instead of the cousins diving in for her why were they not already in the water ready to get her if they knew she was gonna slip out.

She could’ve died, contracted pneumonia, or otherwise become sick from ingesting or inhaling what was in that water as she went under. The aunt should only see her when supervised until she matures enough to recognize what she did wrong. She’s lucky she lived to argue about it.

HELL NO! Protect your baby. That was incredibly dangerous, at 32 she should know better. And she isn't the mother so it doesn't matter how much time she spends with Abby she doesn't get to decide what is and isn't okay for her. Baby sitters follow rules. I'd call the police if it were me. And the cousins were teenage boys following an adult they trusted. Also laughs should never be at a child's expense, a baby is even worse. She's not even 1, she can't even walk.

  • @mardigrassnowballs3258

Never underestimate your first instinct as a mother!
This is a toxic dangerous individual and you should never allow her to be alone with your child.
She’s also sneaky so unfortunately I would suggest that you never allow your mother to babysit. I guarantee you she will allow your sister access to your child. Don’t let this happen.
This person endangered your child for a freaking prank video. Anything could’ve happened! That’s on top of the fact that immersion in water at that age can cause brain damage not to mention death.
Have a lawyer document what happened and also put in writing that this woman is never to be allowed to be alone with your child or even around your child make sure your mother and any other relative get a copy.
If anybody leaves your child unsupervised with that woman you go scorched earth !

I think I know the video they talking about recreating. That video was of a family that lives and breaths water and the kids are started as babies with basic swimming lessons. So even though the kid is young, but way older than eleven months, she is a great swimmer. They made the video to show that you don't trust water wings. You need an actually float vest or life jacket. OPs sister tossed an eleven month old that can't swim into water that they may not even know well to recreate a scenario that had been planned out by parents who actually did know their kid.

Unless you’re training with a professional to teach your baby how to swim, and only at certain ages, you should never let a baby sink under the water! Some lose the nose and mouth reflex and will straight up swallow or breath water. There has been cases of babies and toddlers drowning hours after coming back from the pool…

Nta. Her sister is treating her as if she’s a concerned stranger online and not yknow ABBY’S MOTHER?? Also the bf is a spineless wimp of a father he cannot be trusted.

That could be considered attempted murder. How dare she throw a baby off a dock with Floaties on and then laugh they go ha ha ha the babies drowning. That’s just disgusting. I would’ve pressed charges she belongs in jail. If you’re not being nearly harsh enough. I think she’s getting off flight with you just saying you can’t see the baby anymore. The fact that the mother and the boyfriend are siding with the crazy child abuser is just insane. I want to reconsider who you’re dating. If he’s so OK with letting someone almost drown his child he’s not a very good father. And the mother he’s perfectly fine with her grandchild almost being drowned that’s sick

She purposely risks the baby girls life for fun and for fame on TikTok not because she cares about the baby girls well-being and everyone who is trying to make it seem like it’s not a big deal is an awful person who shouldn’t be around children.

Hell no she isn't the ah. I had a cousin who drowned at age 2 and his father was the one to get him out of the pool he accidentally fell in. It is an absolute terrible thing to purposefully throw a baby in the water, the sister should be ashamed as should ops mother and bf if they aren't willing to make that brat own up to her stupidity
