Refreshing that your reviewing and particularly your appreciating what a 295 to 300g lowish swing weight racquet can offer. So many reviewers and testers focus only on the higher weight "pro'" models and considered anything less a toy. But the reality is most mid level rec players would benefit playing with something like this Boom MP with its very user friendly swing weight. Even something like the current 360+ Speed MP has a near 330SW which makes it difficult for most average players.
Overall, we need to admit that Head has done a great job in the right direction over last few years. There are many decent rackets in the lineup. But there is a complete mess inside the lines. Today I bought an Extreme tour after testing for play with my son, what this wonderful racket does in the extreme line is a mystery to me. I felt this racket more Radical even Extreme. Also I don't understand name change inside Prestige line. Is new Prestige MP it's real Prestige? Maybe they will transfer this racket to Speed line? It's looks like "Hey guys, we have any colors rackets for all styles of playing"...
Jonas, there are plenty of other mediums where one can consume "cheap and cheerful", or short, tennis content. Your video length is great, as it allows the viewer to pick up a few of the finer points on racquets and strings.
I'd be interested in trying the MP. Played the Boom Pro with 3 different strings for more than 30 hours, but it felt a bit stiffer than I'd like, a bit hollow feel on 3 out of 10 forehands. Great for 2-handed backhands. Maybe the MP with some customization could work better for me or a Gravity MP.
after playing 4 times on court, cant agree more what the review says, not so much power compared to my puredrive.and the 295g weight ,305 strung weight with hyger g string gives u some space to costmize. For me i put 3.62g lead tape on 12pt to addup some weight and swing weight to get more power and stableness. And its comfort for me as a ntpr 2.5,one-handed backhand player. Its just perfect for me playing it according to what the video says.Good review!
I’m glad you like it; definitely appear to be hitting well. As far as your opinion - you’re a Head guy so not unexpected. The shop I go to: visited yesterday - they say they aren’t selling. They are going to reduce their Head buys - except for the Extreme, they feel the rest of the Heads are just too similar.
@@Tennisnerd I'm sure their focus group /whatever marketing they have tested that through and it must have been ok by them. To me, who now spends most of my days on Zoom, I can't imagine going to play with my Boom afterwards. Would sound like my life has really gone to shit.
I am really concerned about the swing weight being off so much. Have you ever contacted Head to figure out why it’s so much lighter than the 318 listed by Head??
Hi JONAS I am a big fan of your channel I am currenrly using yonex ezone 100 300g and I am considering buying Head Boom MP Do you think it's a good idea to buy it? I am quite contented with my ezone racket How different between boom mp & ezone 100 ?
I understand it as a heavier racket will have a greater swing weight and an inertia, so if you swing it properly, it can have a faster swing weight, so yeah it can increase spin a bit. But I don't think it is one of the key factors.
I had to add close to 8g to the head to make up for the fact that it didn't have enough plowthrough and power. 64 stiffness is too low, especially with the reduced weight. 65/66 would have been more appropriate.
would Solinco Tour Bite and/or Tecnifibre Pro Red Code or Razor Code work on this racquet? I currently use Pro Red Code 17/1.25 on my Head Prestige Pro and I love the feel of those strings but I am thinking of switching to a more power-oriented racquet

Astonishingly low subscriber count given the quality of the reviews and commentary. C'mon, folks!
Great comment, thanks!
Very true. Beggars belief really.
Maybe tennis not as popular generally wonder who has most tennis subscribers in utube

I see your forehand getting better and better. Greetings from Brazil!! 🇧🇷
Muito obrigado, João!

Thanks for the feedback, Chad!
@@Tennisnerd completely agree I quite like the long format

The MP is great, my buddy who is a much better player than me uses that customized

Great review! Thanks. May I ask how you added the weights? How much weight and where?
and how would you compare boom mp with extreme mp?

Wilson ultra 100v3, Yonex ezone 100 7th generation, head boom mp, which is your favorite? Actually I play with an head prestige mp.
Hi from Spain!
What raquet you think it’s better: boom or extreme? I think it is good idea to make a video with your opinion.
Thanks for your work!!
Hello Jonas, thanks for the Review. Are you still in favour of the extreme pro over any of the booms?
That blue grip color looks really cool. I wish wilson would make a teal/blue pro overgrip
uh, thats green as it gets dude
Yonex makes one! It's actually the same tackiness as the wilson pro, just a tad thicker!
Great review! Boom MP VS Pure Drive 2021?
wouldn't the swingweight on specs be 318g?
Could you make a comparison with Prestige MP L in terms of power, control, stability, feeling and manouvrability?
I will dive into HEAD racquets and do some comparisons in an upcoming video, since I sense there is a lot of confusion there.
noone seems to object to the name but personally I think Boom sounds silly and "I play with a Boom" even sillier. I must be such a snob...
It does sound a little silly, but good names are hard to come by

How different between boom mp & ezone 100 ?
Great question. I'm also considering the Ezone 100, the Tecnifibre Tfight RS300, and the 360+ Speed MP based on Jonas' reviews.
Hey jonas, great video keep it up. I would like to ask you how racquet mass affect spin? Does a heavier racquet generate more spin?
I understand it as a heavier racket will have a greater swing weight and an inertia, so if you swing it properly, it can have a faster swing weight, so yeah it can increase spin a bit. But I don't think it is one of the key factors.
about to try the prince phantom 100x 305

Hi, which racket can you compare this boom mp racket to? Thanks
How hard was the racket strung?
I currently use an extreme mp nite version and was wondering if the boom mp has a more plush feel than the extreme.
How do you compare it to the radical ?
would Solinco Tour Bite and/or Tecnifibre Pro Red Code or Razor Code work on this racquet? I currently use Pro Red Code 17/1.25 on my Head Prestige Pro and I love the feel of those strings but I am thinking of switching to a more power-oriented racquet
This or the yonex ezone 100?
Head boom mp or aero 2022?
Please review the Artengo TR990 Pro and the TR960 Precision please. Pretty pretty please. Would love your thoughts Jonas 😁😁😁
did not see this coming , interesting :-)
1 min videos would be Anti-Nerdy. Wouldn't be detailed enough. Perhaps 5 min.
