Mighty work altogether Ger.!! Glad your getting on with the work at hand now the weather is playing ball again.... for a few days anyway at least.! Keep em coming horse..... see ya on the next one.!!!! 4.600 subs for the"Gerry Possy" as Hector would say.! Stay safe.!
Joe Clarkson yes I’ll be On the Mississippi at some stage as I’ll be visiting the quad cities I’ll be in moline. I’ll be based about an hour east of there near the towns of Dixon and Princeton.
Nice bit of smelly stuff going on make that grass grow. What do you think of graduated lime though we try some on 10arces some people say waste of money others say great stuff. We had the second calf today a girl yara good make of fert have a great Easter weekend cheers
Antony farming well if soil ph is low obviously its a great job. have heard it can make land wet when used excessively but its a must in many situations.
Antony farming bulk lime works out cheaper but I’ve spread it in many cases. And works well. Yara make great product, have been using for years and found very good. Happy Easter to you too
You would be lucky to be on the land if it stays dry for 3 weeks up in north Scotland. It's been a whole week of rain on and off and the land is just water logged at the minute
gerry6420 all our land has literally crack cause we unexpected dry day of 10 Celsius average somehow. lol and farms have now been able to get slurry finally
Top machine. Have 7000 hours on it now andgive very little bother. Problems it gave...a seal in a ram, fan belt tensioner, a solenoid on the steering and replaced few perished hoses. Very under estimated machine in my opinion. Ask anyone who’s owned one.
Question that's been on my mind for a while now is, how much straw goes for in Ireland? I live on a beef farm in Wales and the going rate is around 100 a ton.
mbslg86 as a rule, round bale of straw is 11-15€ depending on the year. This year there’s a shortage though and it’s making upwards on 25-40€ at the minute. As agri fan says... 8x4x4 are telephone numbers at the minute.
Liam Fensome happened this year. You have to pick your driest field and just put it out....it’s not idea but just has to be done. Can’t have cattle standing in slurry.
Joe Clarkson no way. What a small world. I’ve been in Dixon so many times. I know that whole area very well. I’ve got relations in the small town of Ohio between Dixon and Princeton and in Dixon also. Beautiful part of the world.

Agitators arent the easiest as well as fert spreaders. With the pto and arms and everything else in the way

Question that's been on my mind for a while now is, how much straw goes for in Ireland?

mbslg86 seen quotes of 140 for a big bale
mbslg86 as a rule, round bale of straw is 11-15€ depending on the year. This year there’s a shortage though and it’s making upwards on 25-40€ at the minute. As agri fan says... 8x4x4 are telephone numbers at the minute.
Just got a quote, truck and drag full upwards of 45000
And what do u think of the 6420
Patrick Mcmanus great tractor. Punches above her weight.
Have you ever had a time when all the tanks are full of slurry at the farm and you cant get on the land to spread any what happens then
Liam Fensome happened this year. You have to pick your driest field and just put it out....it’s not idea but just has to be done. Can’t have cattle standing in slurry.
Yes it is
Do you own 3 tractors?
James Browne John Deere 6930, 6420s, 2850, 2130, David brown 995 and the teleporter is the fleet
