    I treat the red light on the toilet like the reserve fuel light on the car. You've still got a few miles in the tank yet.. Good tips on wheel nuts and stabiliser 👌

      If red light comes on, open the flap and with a torch you can see how full the cassette is. It always comes on too soon in my opinion.

    Great tips. More room for the essential beer. Jenny said she just sends me to empty the toilet if that occurs, so no problem! 😅😬

    If you loosen the wheel nuts then torque them up, I would say you need to check them again after 30 miles/1/2 hr ish because it's similar to having the wheels off? I WOULD loosen them after a service so that they have an initial tighten by me with MY torque wrench which I will use, check after a short period then before leaving site each time. Whatever floats your boat of course.

  • @MrG.42
    @MrG.42 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

    When you have your caravan seviced. The service engineer will tell you must check the torque on the nuts/studs after 30 miles. If you loosen the nuts each time then you would need to stop and check them every 30 miles along your journey. Which if it's a loong journey say 300 mile that's 10 times on the journey there and 10 times on the way back.

    Brilliant tips Martin, I have just watched one of your videos of upgrading the reading lights to usb and dimmable ones , I have just ordered 2 as they are a brilliant addition, above the bed there is 2 long led lights under the units , I can’t seem to find the switch, am I missing something lol

    Hi Martin, have subscribed to your channel as am a new viewer, great videos, I have just changed my caravan and purchased a Bailey unicorn Valencia 2012 , I only got it last Saturday and I noticed in your videos that in the front to the right you have a white motion looking sensor, I have the same in mine and looking through the owners manual it doesn’t really mention it, if it did I didn’t see it lol, I’m almost sure it’s not linked to the Sargent alarm, please could you advise me as to what it is, many thanks
    Regards
    Phil

    • @desclarke9485
      @desclarke9485 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Phil as a fellow Bailey Unicorn (Barcelona) 2012 owner for may years now, I can answer that for you. The sensor is the PIR unit and is linked to the security alarm. There is also a siren fitted underneath the caravan. These are Bailey standard fittings supplied and monitored by Tracker UK, for an annual subscription. However in 2016 they stopped supporting these units and wanted you to pay to fit a newer up to date unit, which I declined. However these do continue to work as a normal alarm (just not monitored or tracked anymore). They are covered in the Bailey Unicorn range manual on page 4-53, under 4.14 - Tracker Monitor. You may also have received the separate Tracker manual. I find the alarm somewhat annoying as I frequently trip it by mistake. This is because it only has one button for on and off and no easy way of knowing if its on or not. I eventually got it in my head, that one blip from the siren is off and 2 blips is on. Also the remote key fob would turn itself on and off in my pocket every time I bent down, but I managed to sort that by gluing a flat rubber tap washer around the button to prevent it being pressed by mistake. Worked a treat for negligible cost!

      @@desclarke9485 hi des , thank you for your reply, I don’t have a fob for it but I did see you can buy them online, I’m not going use it as I’m happy with the factory fitted Sargent alarm plus I have my own tracker fitted to the caravan.
      Regards
      Phil

    You’ve a fair while from the light coming on on the loo before it really needs emptying. Certainly over night.

    Wouldn’t it be useful to have 2 toilet cassettes so when you take a full one out you immediately replace with an empty one? No accidents in the cassette space like that either.

    Some great ideas Martin. It's interesting that give the same idea about the toilet. For us it's all about emptying the toilet every day with the 5 of us. That happened lots on the CLs while away in Norfolk.
