What a nostalgic piece this is for me. As a child, I heard this song many times on a favorite Roger Wagner record my parents had. The sound of the needle moving on the record, the haunting voices of the chorale. It doesn't get much better than this for chorale music. Thanks for the recording.
@@AdrienneBiggs Interesting. My uncle was Lyle Jewell. I remember him speaking about your mom, Salli, on more than a few occasions relating this or that story. I was very close with my uncle and there would be times I was at his house on a Saturday evening visiting and Roger would call him. Roger was always trying to get Lyle to come back and do some solo work on some particular musical number, but uncle Lyle never was able to due to his teaching at our local university. Happy Easter.
Heartwarming

Just hearing Salli Terri's voice transports me to places flowing with everything in glorious abundance. I miss her so.
Hace 50 años la escuché por primera vez. ¡El dolor de los esclavos! ¡Qué maravilla! Y de ahí a a Charly Parker.
I had this album almost 40 years ago and still remember how beautiful the harmonies were.
My uncle was Bass soloist and Tour Manager for the Roger Wagner Chorale in the 1960s. Probably the best chorale of it's time!
Who is your uncle? I bet we knew him! Our mom was Salli Terri. Happy Easter!

His Christmas album is the best! Coventry carol!
Magnífico. Conozco la versión en español de Cesáreo Garabain (sacerdote y músico), que no es mala, pero ésta es más cercana al espíritu del Gospel
