@@bobtheblob2770 without it though, Great adventure would be way less of a visited theme park. Having the worlds tallest coaster really puts it on the lineup, without it you really only have an intense woody and a good hyper and single rail

@@blair4815 I like Kingda ka more 100% I do not like drop towers at all, roller coasters are better 100%, Nitro and Kingda Ka are my 2 favorite rides at great adventure, how about you what are your favorite rides at great adventure, and what do you like more drop towers or roller coasters or both equally?

This was super intense experience. The car shakes very hard and you think if it will crash at some point but then you go up up up. Never again.

@@Chetaa888 understandable! But the layout was so fun. It was pretty tall and fast too! Just needed a retract and new trains! Definitely not as much work as demolishing and replacing it! They just make dumb decisions and it’s so obvious anymore
@@Jcjc-lr4bf I Mean Your Not Wrong Re-tracking could've done wonders for like have of they defunct arrows, and their trains were also like metal blocks on the track
@@Chetaa888 right! It wasn’t the layout, it was so fun zooming through 3 loops and the batwing and corkscrews. It just needed a huge update. Besides, it was so aesthetically pleasing where it was!
This is one of the very few coasters I feared for my life
Kingda Ka gets a bad rep for being rough and a ttd clone. I love it. On a slow day where there is no line its awesome

You'd think Intamin would make a smoother one on the second try. Still on my bucket list tho.
Fun fact, that spare track in the Safari exhibit is from an old arrow looper, I think it was demon.
The top of the loop needed to be retract with special reinforced track with more cross-ties, because the forces in a certain vertical loop were so high. When arrow removed the old, weaker track it was placed in the Safari area so that animals can climb on

And still made an inferior ride due to the restraints. NOTHING beats the Intamin T-bar restraints.
Technically never copied, ttd doesn’t have an airtime hill after the drop and also they have different restraints

Love this review! I enjoyed Dragster too but I agree Kingda Ka feels a little more intense, and the floater air is wonderful!

as a coaster enthusiast, this coaster is probably going to shut down in the next year or 2 (2024 or 2025). Reason(s) being safely concerns, since it’s so high in the air, if it gets stuck up there, it won’t come down easily. Plus, Kingdaka is a NIGHTMARE for operators to work on, due to the many mechanical malfunctions PER DAY! I have not been to any six flag chain, due to my dad not liking six flags for some reason. but i REALLY hope this won’t close down. it’s not very likely this coaster will still be in favor in the years to come. Hope i get to ride it 😅

@@MasterBraydonit probably won’t close down for a good while. Ka is a lot more reliable than Dragster or the earlier accelerators and they launch the train faster than necessary to clear the top hat. It has had a lot of maintenance issues in 2023 which I belobe to be due to the cable and catch car issues. Should remain operational until the end of its service life. By then I imagine Intamin will come in and renovate it with LSM’s which would be a shame but a necessary loss to keep the ride.

I rode the coaster before it opened to the public. It used to use both side . Used to have a dj in line and used to have the ride op play games when launching.

They had almost the exact same thing at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio called Top Thrill Dragster. Ohio has the best amusement parks in the nation period

Have you ridden both? The shoulder restraints on Ka really don’t make that much of a difference.
@@ZMSaypol i have, the lap bar definitely feels more freeing and the launch on ttd was smoother. But the roughness of Ka adds to the intensity. I prefer Ka. Feels way faster and the camel back is insane.
@@bestkickz2464 Comes down to would you rather a more smooth and graceful ride or an intense but rougher ride. Ka isn’t all that rough tho.

The ride only has shoulder restraints only because the state of NJ makes it mandatory. I’ve ridden both ride and there isn’t that much of a difference with the restraints besides point of view, IMO.

The Great American Scream Machine. It was an Arrow looper. It was a rough ride towards the end, but it was a lot of fun. Now the monkeys get to enjoy it 😁
