Our Panasonic NPM-W2 SMT inspects an ATTiny85-20MUR before placing the part down to make sure the polarity marker is visible and in the correct place, or the part won't get placed.

The polarity mark is first added in the pick & place program, DGS. After it is added, it must be dialed in conditionally on the NPM-W2. We teach extensive classes at this here at Lorain County Community College, it's a big part of our bachelors degree. I'll try to show how this is done in a later video.
