STORM EUNICE - Planes Battle High Winds to land London Stansted Airport - Go-Arounds Bumpy Approach

- Storm Eunice Planes in dramatic aborted landings and go-arounds during very strong winds at London Stansted Airport. This video was filmed on 18th Feb 2022 during the storm and features Ryanair planes, Buzz, Lauda and Wizz Air all battling the stormy conditions.

Storm Eunice was accompanied by a rare UK Met Office red weather warning across the south west, London & south east, with winds gusting over 80mph in places. Many planes attempting to land at Stansted Airport were forced to go-around, some diverted elsewhere (Jet2) and whilst others diverted to Stansted from other airports. (Ryanair, Wizz, British Airways)

The Lauda pilot was really commited to put the plane down. He fought the wind, safely, and he did an skilful landing. Well done pilot flying.

Those conditions at 7-8 minutes were really terrible. Great skills being shown by those 2 pilots that still managed to deck their birds. This was a really good video.

It’s strange seeing these aircraft land from that side of the fence. I’m a ground handler and was working on this day and I can honestly say it was one of the toughest days I’ve had to work. How some of them pilots managed to get the aircraft down I do not know but props to them for it.

Surely respect for these pilots, the most challenging dangerous job, in these storms. They should be proud of themselves landing safely!!!

I was flying during the storm in 2019 and this is really hard work. Even to pick a alternate
@@unbekannt1956 few understand the planning on the flightdeck.
Are the alternates on the flight plan suitable? If not, where CAN you go? How many attempts to land, and will you make it first time at the alternate? How much fuel to take and how much to divert with?
Plan for many other flight crews to divert to your alternate, especially if the weather is poor.

Thankyou so much for this!!! I was a flight attendant yesterday on the FR8167 flight from Tenerife back to Stansted and it was intense! Pilots did an amazing job, we landed the second time but we were Very close to divert To the east Midlands.
Hi Kate thanks very much for watching and for sharing your experience yesterday as crew on FR8167, i think i filmed this go around in this video, as the 737MAX-8200 EI-HMS TFS-STN. Every time I film events like this, i have utmost respect for everyone involved and hopefully in a small way, this type of video shows the professionalism and safety across the industry. I am glad you landed ok at Stansted and that a Divert wasn't needed in your case. I know some colleagues ended up in Oslo. Another airline went to Paris and I think another headed off to Manchester. Certainly a difficult day. Thanks for your message.

Great video. But that was a terrible experience. We were on board from szczecin to London Stansted. Fr2467 .It was so windy.so scary. So many people were throwing up on board. Thank God and pilots we landed safe and well.

Do you know if any of these planes is fr2467 ? we were supposed to land at 11:45am. but landed at 1pm
@@jekaterinal846 hello again, sorry for the slow reply I had to go back and check my info. I believe the flight FR2467 was on aircraft EI-ENG I have noted down that I did film it but I didn't include it in this video. It may have been that the go around occurred a little further out from the runway than some of the ones I have featured. There were quite a few that did this, meaning I likely filmed it going overhead.
Could you share it or send it to me, I am just very curious. If you still have this 📹

I was in one of the planes. it felt much worse inside the plane. I was in the Ryanair that landed first try. after wizzair.

Hi, thanks for watching my video of Storm Eunice and for your message. Yes, this was EI-EFH FR8143 that was scheduled from Knock NOC to Luton LTN, diverted to Stansted but did the go-around and ended up at East Midlands EMA..I hope that helps.

We had 2 failed attempts at landing which resulted in a diversion to France Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG)
Hi BeWISE media thanks very much for your message and for watching the video. Sadly I wasn't able to stay for Anadolujet. I stayed all day and it was the last flight I hoped to catch before the light faded, unfortunately you were circling for such a long time. I waited for around 3 circles of the holding pattern but sadly by this time I was frozen to the core!!! I did read about the 2 go arounds and diversion to CDG. I am sorry.

@@bewisemedia hi there, I dont think Stansted have videos I am afraid. There are some photos on Face book if you search for Air Britain Stansted a guy called Michael Jones, admin has posted some photos of the Anadolujet go around. I hope that helps
