This is Awesome 👏 I have never seen this particular footage of Stryper. So cool! All Glory to Jesus Christ who is the Rock! Thank you for sharing this. It was a Blessing 😊
@@ronstewart6362 Agreed. I think on a moral level it's all going to tank until the end. "We" can do nothing, but God has it all in His hands and He already won with His plan through Jesus. To hell with the devil 🤘
Studying the Bible, the “god” of America is NOT the God of Israel so what’s going on shouldn’t be any surprise! The 80’s was the decade of decadence…look at what we had as role models…DLR, Crue, Ozzy, KISS, etc. and let’s not forget the ladies!
Stryper could have a shit ton of money if they wrote secular lyrics and went that way. I cant believe the shit they were given. I seen them in 87. Not a christian but still a fan.
I remember these guys, back in the 80s a band i ran around with, one of the members wanted to go in this direction, Needless to say they never made it.
@@AvaRose00 ok, if you say so. Making it in my mind, one is known in every Livingroom across the country, these guys would qualify as tic toc stars. known only to those who live in that bubble.
@@gatormcklusky5850you’re out of it. Stryper made it. Screw tic tac crap. That’s fake. Stryper worked hard for there success and sold millions of albums and still out there playing live and making new music. Not every artist is going to be as known as Elvis, The stones or the Beatles. Dude they made it smh🤦🏻♂️
@@Jayhawk9 i miss spoke myself ,I meant to say i ran around with a member of a band that that made the national level & wanted to go in this direction, they didn't make it, i have no idea how i wrote the original comment the way it did. ive been sober 14 years. its kinda mind blowing looking at the comment. that said Stryper still sucked!!
These guys were EXACTLY where and what they needed to be in the 80's among bands like Poison, SLayer, Wasp, Kiss, Def Leopard, Warrant, Twisted Sister, Cinderella, etc. etc. They got a lot of flack in the mid 90's but I would contend that it was more because kids were moving away from glam metal/hair bands and into grunge - NOT because they were a Christian metal band. It's crazy, because, like wine, they have actually aged well. Now I think we're all looking back and appreciating what a cultural icon they were and that they are still putting out quality metal.
@@rawar777joshanderson surprisingly the were one of the only Christian metal bands to be listened to by many secular fans and toured with secular artists
Been a Stryper fan since the get go. Disagree with Robert’s statement that they were doing something that hasn’t been don’t before as Rez band was rocking already but that can’t take away from the positive impact these guys have made worldwide that maybe Rez hasn’t reached.
I would say that Rez Band definitely rocked harder than Stryper. Where Stryper was first was in the presentation. The first spandex wearing, Christian hair metal band, which I don't even really consider to be metal at all. More like power pop.
@canamcleaning uh maybe he can play drums but I'm talking about Robert Sweet the lead singer and lead guitar for Stryper a band I've been listening to since 88 when I bought their cassette To Hell With the Devil. Do u remember that?
In the early 80s Robert Sweet was offered many opportunities to play with contemporary bands like poison and van halen but denied it for religious reasons
I've not seen this in years, though it was trimmed down. The Sanctuary might have been well meaning, but from an adult prospective what do they do about those struggling with their sexuality, mental health etc. Substance abuse and alcohol might have been the oldest evils in the world, but prayer can't get rid of the gay (I speak as a metal bear who came out 26 years ago).
Do you know what show this live footage is taken from in 1989? It's the same concert that the 'Free' video clip was taken from. I'm hoping to find the whole concert to watch, looks like an amazing crowd and show !✌️👍
No offense to Perry at all ( he's a good player) but Stryper is Micheal, Robert, Oz and Tim! As a bass player i always thought Tim was not just a Great player but a Great vocalist also.
LOVE Stryper!!

Wow this is great! Thanks so much for sharing Mark.
Am I the only one watching this video in 2024 and feeling like we lost the battle, country, family, and God?
Don't let the times get to you. It's already been written. In the end We win!. Things are gonna get much worse so just stay as positive as possible.

Nope. Find the positive.
What you are seeing is Biblical prophecy coming online every day more and more.
Look up for your redemption draws near! Now is the time for joy!
Thank you for posting this! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟
These guys are heavy true and loud. A wonderful metal band. ❤❤❤
Ive always lovedthe tone of Stryper guitar
I know! I own Michael's signature guitar processor, the ISP Theta Pro DSP MS. It has several patches created by Michael Sweet.

Did Rez band play Metal, or play on the Sunset Strip with Crüe, W.A.S.P., Quiet Riot and Ratt?

@ Michael Sweet, his brother is the singer. One of my favorite bands ever!
*JESUS* is the reason for the season.
A Jesus Resolution.
Love Stryper.
Pastor Bob is awesome!
Respect!
Replace sex and drugs with Jesus and love, add hair spray and van Halen inspired guitar and vocals and you get Stryper
