When I was younger for my birthday my dad got 2 tickets for my mom and I to go and see her at the Iowa State Fair at that time my mom had stepped out on my dad with a man who was abusive towards me in every way and physical abusive to my mom day of show her boyfriend wouldn't allow us to go and the tickets went to waste my dad died month later! Years later she came back and I didn't know at the time but moment tickets went on sale my mom jumped on it and got us tickets! Because of that had occurred it was a very very emotional concert for me ! Till this day she remains number one on my list and helps me almost daily to go another day if wasn't for Reba I don't know if I would have ever had the strength to get through the hardest times in my 43 years of life Reba thank you from bottom of my being for being there specially when you didn't know and when no one else was not even my own mom! Exactly. Heard Reba say in some interview years ago that she thinks Dolly's recording, performance of this tune was better than her own version of it. While I tend to agree (why must everything be a damned contest) the cry in Dolly's vocals in this song really enhancing the sadness of a marriage torn asunder, but, be damned if you'll get country (?) radio to play Dolly's version of it. The song was written by Donna Summer and Bruce Sudano (her husband) for Dolly, it was about the break-up of Bruce's parents. And although this is a nice version (and Reba recorded it as a tribute to Donna and Dolly who she admired), Donna by far sings it, the best, she never recorded it ... just sang it live.

I loved the orginal Dolly Parton version and I love this one to.
Exactly. Heard Reba say in some interview years ago that she thinks Dolly's recording, performance of this tune was better than her own version of it. While I tend to agree (why must everything be a damned contest) the cry in Dolly's vocals in this song really enhancing the sadness of a marriage torn asunder, but, be damned if you'll get country (?) radio to play Dolly's version of it. However, Reba, Brooks and Dunn, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flats, and the myriad of other country artists popular right now, just wait....just wait until you would like to hear a song that's been on your mind all day, so you call the request line of your local country (?) radio station and request it, and the dj tries to act like he/she has no idea of whom you're talking about. I like new artists, well, most of them, and there is room for both older and cutting edge new artists to peacefully co-exist on the radio.

In her earlier work (yet again, with few to none of her biggest hits penned by her) such as 'What in the World am I Gonna do About You', Reba could have been any other woman in the U.S.--your neighbor, friend from work, ect....by the time 'Rumor Has It' came along, she'd morphed into little more than am marionette whose strings were controlled by the record label. Reba didn't use sex to get to where she is today...? Dumplin' where have you been? Without videos, which, by nature, accentuate the male/female dynamic, Reba would have been lost. Hasn't used sex to propel her to the superstar status she now enjoys....OMG, wake up! Other country stars, such as Dolly, remember the older days in the music business, when 'boobs and other private areas' to quote yr little attitude-laden rant, had little to do with whether the public knew what you looked like...you either had the God-given talent to make it in the business or not. Dolly has cashed in on her physical attributes, no doubt. However, she has also conquered the world of business, books, the silver screen, country AND pop charts, sold over 100 million albums, owns her own theme park in E. Tennessee...not to mention all the philanthropy work, such as her 'Imagination Station' project she started, which has, through her care and guidance has now donated millions of age-appropriate books to children everywhere, because Dolly realizes the value of education, and likely many, MANY other projects that she is involved with that but few people know about......and, in closing, yes, Dolly has used sex, ( ha, she IS hot) but, with everything she has accomplished in her life, you desperately need to re-examine yr limited view of Dolly, and realize you don't achieve everything she has in her lifetime with what you look like. Get it?...Got it?...Good. Oh, p.s., while she didn't write it, 'Starting Over Again' was a number 1 smash for Dolly as well.
