I didn’t talk about how long it took or information that you can find in the pattern (such as the gauge). The sweater took me about a month of essentially all my knitting time dedicated to it, however at the time I was a lot less of competent knitter and this sweater required me to learn a lot of new techniques I’d not tried before. To wager a guess I think I’d be able to knit this now in approximately 2.5 weeks, as it is fairly straightforward on 7mm needles.
I found this video randomly when I was about to buy the pattern and I just wanted to say, I appreciate how thoroughly you share your insights and how sweet you are :)
Thank you so much Marina that means so much! Hope you get on well with it, always here for a chat if you have questions or just want to obsess about knitting :)
you prolly dont care but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Kaleb Kaysen instablaster =)
@Javion Tadeo thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Javion Tadeo It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
Lovely lovely jumper, thanks for sharing❤
This sweater is absolutely gorgeous. I have a similar body type as you and struggled with what I wanted to knit and what would look good on me. After watching this video - problem solved. Saving it in my queue right after I post this. Thank you so much!
You have a very wonderful smile that takes you to another stage in beauty and reveals that you have a beautiful soul
So always remember when you smile that you make things around you more beautiful😀
Beautiful work. Sharing your experience is extremely useful. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you ❤️
I loooove the color you made in it! It looks so good!
love the green ...have to buy it now :D
Thank you for talking about the size. I was debating between the XL and 2X. Think I’ll make the XL.
Hope you enjoy making it ❤️ Definitely go for the smaller size
You did a beautiful job!! I am working on making my third PetiteKnit sweater now and enjoyed seeing this review.
Her patterns are brilliant! Thanks so much for your comment, glad you enjoyed it ❤️
I have been knitting for several years but mostly small things such as hats or big flat things like Afghans and scarves. After watching your video I am inspired to knit a sweater. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Hope it is going well Donna 🤞🏻
It looks amazing, great work! I'm planning to start the same jumper once I get the right yarn tomorrow, and it's nice to hear you enjoyed knitting it 😊
I truly did! What yarn have you gone for?
@@KarolinesKnits the Snefnug in Mork Rosa and Midnatssol in Gammerosa (also by CaMeRose). I was hoping for the Pudder Snefnug one but it was too low in stock and the Mork Rosa had been a close second anyway 😊 keep up the good work!
Your sweater was really lovely. The colour is so rich & suits you. I also live in Bonny Scotland where we always need warm cosy garments.
Many people not living in Scotland ask me why I’d need all these wooly jumpers but I tell them there’s not a season here where you can’t wear them 🤣 I wore the Sunday sweater all throughout summer
Hi! I’m just about to start this project myself so it was really great to hear your thoughts. The forest/deep emerald colour is definitely a winner on you!
Greetings from Sydney, Aus 😊🙏🏼
Thanks so much Anna-Karin, it’s a brilliant knit! How exciting to get a hello all the way from Australia 😊
Another great video, very informative! Would love to try the Isager silk mohair as I struggle with the itchiness of Drops and Filcolana.
Thank you so much Lea! I do think Filcolana is softer than Drops, but neither as soft as Isager, though whether it’s itchy is hard to know. I am really intrigued by Camarose’s new mohair alternative, I think it’s Maane something something? I find anything with alpaca is lovely.
The Sunday sweater looks amazing and the green looks great on you!! I’m a beginner knitter and so far I’ve only knitted a raglan and I choose the Sunday sweater because I wanted to know how to do knit a sweater in the round. I’m so lost though. I don’t understand beginning of pattern. It says work the neck edge “Work 8” what does that mean? Hope you can help a super beginner like me. Haha. Thank you!!
this is a lovely sweater! this green is very nice!
i've just bought this pattern myself, and as was readig thtough it, i was surpprised there was no short rows shaping... would you say it is comfortable to weat that way? i'm waiting to start it, because i was wondering if i could ad some shaping, but i'm quit a begginer, so i don't know if i will be able...
It’s not too bad but knowing what I know now I would probably add short rows. It shouldn’t be TOO difficult but I also think you’d be happy without it.
This sweater looks stunning on you, the colour is also the most beautiful shade of green, I don't know why that shade of green is so difficult to find where I live 😅
Thank you, I love a forrest green! I would've thought it was fairly common colour for most yarns but maybe I'm wrong.
This dark green sweater look beautiful on you ! I'm happy you say this pattern is beginner friendly. I about to knit a sweater that will be in 4 parts and then sew this parts together. I saw a kit to knit this sweater and wasn't sure if it would be too difficult to knit. I think I will jump into the water and order a kit 🤣 You did an amazing work !
If you can manage to sew a whole sweater together, this will be absolutely fine! There’s some really great beginner friendly techniques that’ll make moving into more difficult patterns in the future much easier. For technique videos I really like Susanne Bryan (English speaking) and Kimmie Munkholm (Danish speaking). What I love about this pattern is that you master techniques one by one, so you have time to learn and there’s not a million things to keep track of.
Hope you enjoy it!!! I loved knitting it and I’m SO tempted to knit another one. Lemme know how you get on!
@@KarolinesKnits thank you for recommanding me the chanel of Susanne ! I watched 2 random videos and it's full of usefull information. I watched a bit of the videos that Kimmie made about the sweater and I wasn't sure it would be clear enough because I must use the subtitles for those videos. I was lucky today, there is a discount on a class to learn to knit top down sweater (in French). I will follow this one first and then I will be ready for the next steps ! The pattern that comes with the class is a easy one.
thank you so much for this!! very helpful! subscribing!!
Thank you 🥰🥰🥰
Sra. Linda dónde ubico el tutorial de ese suéter? Gracias de antemano. Bendiciones.
The pattern is linked in the description 😊
I am so glad I found this video! I am about to start this project, it will be my second sweater ever and I am a bit afraid because I have never knitted with these techniques. I hope it turns out good. Which needles did you use? Maybe I'm a little bit inexperienced but I think I will have a problem with my needles because the cable is too short... I don't know. Sorry for my English ;)
Your English is perfect! I think I switched a little bit around, but I bought an interchange set while I was knitting it. From memory you’d need a 40cm circular needle the neckline and another one for the sleeves. You could probably knit most of the body on 80cm lengths. I’d recommend checking out Susanne Bryan, I always find her videos so useful! It’s a brilliant pattern, you just have to preservere
@@KarolinesKnits Thank you for your answer! I will check out Susanne Bryan :)
hi i have a question about sizing. you said you knitted it in a size xl and your bust is 115 cm. in the pattern it said the bust size for a size xl is 100-110 and it is still a little loose. am i reading the pattern incorrect?
great video thank you for sharing your thoughts
Hi Trille. No you’re reading the pattern completely correctly, that is the amount of positive ease she recommends.
However, there’s two things to keep in mind
1) while I did do a gauge swatch and it fit, I may have changed gauge as I was knitting (there’s always a chance that happens I guess) plus this is the last sweater that I didn’t do a spin+drain in the washing machine but instead squeezed out excess water with a towel (PetiteKnit shows how she washes hers on Instagram and that is how I do it now) so it may have ended up slightly bigger simply due to this. If you need more precise measurements or anything I’m always happy to reply on Instagram with pictures etc :)
2) I have learned that any more than 10 cm positive ease I just don’t like on my body shape. PetiteKnit herself usually knits a XS and has a completely different shape to mine, so it’s not really surprising there’s different preferences. As I’m widest over my boobs, I prefer for it to be slightly tighter fitting there so it isn’t tent like further down. Again the joy of knitting is being able to decide this for yourself. I’ve never been a big fan of clothes being very oversize.
My guess is that based on your name, you may be Scandinavian. There is a KAL PetiteKnit group on Facebook, which is great if you want to ask any questions. I’ve seen others on there comment similarly to me that generally her fit is a bit bigger :)
Hope that was useful, otherwise let me know.
Très belle couleur de laine et il te fait vraiment bien
Frist i sub your channel because of this beautiful pattern and your knitting so ooooo beautiful ❤️ I very love patiteknik but unfortunately I can’t follow the pattern by reading !! it make me confused 😓 i will be very appreciate it if you can make proper tutorials for us ❤️ and I Love you knitting it so beautiful xx
Oh I may not be best placed for tutorials, I’m not great at explaining! But I’ll certainly make a note there’s interest and maybe plan a project where I can talk you through the techniques. Otherwise I really do like Susanne Bryan’s videos, I think she explains things really well. I learned to knit from Craftsy and I find them talking through the pattern really useful.
@@KarolinesKnits oh yes im big fan of susanne too ❤️ 😄 anyway thanks for sharing the ideas and keep going 🧶🧶🧶 Big support to you xx
