Just watched your Cody Miller video earlier, so my first thought watching this was "hey I wonder if he can zero shot it on legendary faster then Cody beat it after lowering the difficulty". Hilarious lmao.
There's more enthusiasm and content actively being made for halo games 1 to 2 decades old than all the 343 games. I hope this inspires the creative teams there to return to halos roots. And not pretend to do so by making a game to cash in on the open world and Spiderman shooting webs trends, disguising it as a return to the very first halo concepts.
13:23 fun fact: the book spends a lot of time talking about the life of one of the grunts on the elevator, starting from when he was on his home planet to the point where he gets killed here. I read it ~8 years ago so I don’t remember everything. I always thought it was cool, but nobody ever talked about him

I beat Halo CE without shooting or throwing grenades (until that one part where I HAD to in the Maw), but that was on Easy. I'm so impressed that you were able to beat the game on Legendary, and in such little time too!

I find the idea of Master Chief using EXCLUSIVELY his massive Spartan fists and explosives to defeat both the Covenant and the Flood to be far more badass than the conventional approach.
I've been playing halo 3 recently and for whatever reason I just flat out refused to use any non human weapons, so I've spent quite alot of time with no ammo beating everything to death on easy, it's a ridiculous amount of fun.
I did this on Halo 2 and Reach I believe without any major level skips, from memory. All besides The Package which was impossible to me. I think that's the only one I missed. No one watched my vids :(
I know I am but a measly servant of the speedruns, but perhaps a quick video on the basics of grenade jumping? or how it works exactly? I feel so terribly inconsistent my dear.
It's really simple. You jump over the grenade when it blows up. If you're inconsistent, you probably just need more practice. It took me a while to get the easy grenade jump at the start of Halo down.
Did this when I was a kid because the firing button accidentally got left unassigned and I didnt know about settings yet Managed to reach the stairs in the first stage
I tried to do the banshee flip on Assault on the Control Room, but whenever it gets close it always turns left away from the door instead of turning right and smacking against the wall. I'm crouching when its right wing hits the dark part of the mountain-side. Am I just not lined up correctly with the line on the ground?
It could be where you're standing, or it could be your crouch timing. I can't really say for sure without seeing it. If you join the Halo Runs discord, you can post a video in the Halo 1 channel, and they'll help you out.
Do you play on console? I'm pretty sure some of the jumps are more difficult on pc, just because the game physics is different, that's what stopped me from trying legendary under 3 hours lol
i wonder instead of the community manually looking for skips and such if it would be blasphomause to look through the game files and code for the triggers
ik this is a year old video, but I feel like the premise of completing the game without shooting would be more interesting without some of these speedrun tricks. Running by all the enemies is fine, but banshee clipping through most of TB and skipping practically all of Keyes, is my point. I feel it would be more relatable to the average player/viewer without major skips like that. Kinda' like how you killed all the gold elites in truth and rec, you could've skipped it, but you didn't, and to me, the video was more interesting because of that. idk, maybe I've just watched too many halo speedruns so the tricks have lost a lot of the wow factor, and doing the game normally might've been more interesting
I think all the legendary in under 3 hours achievements are complete bs. They're way to hard to do especially Halo 2 with all the jackal snipers and wraiths they expect you to kill. I hate these achievements because the par times i swear are too low for most missions, they almost expect you to play 100% perfect no mistakes and to do skips and speedrun tricks.

They do. On the banshee trick on Two Betrayals for example, dev tools were used to find each trigger you need to hit and create a flight path.
