I think I found out why! So in the beginning of the short, Cathy immediately starts getting ready for school, and by the time she was finally dressed and in the kitchen, she was packing her bags, and when the video ended by her leaving the house and waving to her friends, which meant that this was the normal time for them to go to the bus stop (most likely) Throughout the whole video she was getting ready, which means that she sleeps in so late, that she has no time for breakfast.
THATS that same conclusion I made!!

All I see is high carb ,high calories ,very little protein. Some people are not breakfast eaters. It doesn't mean they have an eating disorder.

That's a pretty decent theory but I kinda doubt it. This was made by the National Dairy Council and they make these kind of things to convince people to drink more milk in a roundabout way. Kinda like the "Got milk" campaign. I think this was just a small part of a longer video that has intermittent pauses to "Stop and discuss". It kinda reminds me of the videos they would show at school to pre-teen girls back then that would explain menstruation cuz those were always made by the pad/tampon companies and sent out to schools for free. There were a all sorts of videos like that made by all kinds of different companies back then that were mostly educational with a hint of subliminal advertising. It's kinda crazy.

@Conny Boxer Yes, I usually stop eating at 8 pm and then fast until noon the next day. :) However, sometimes I'll take it a step further and try to fast for 18 hours. My husband and I have been following a few different people, especially Dr. Eric Berg DC (you can check out his TH-cam channel if you want). We haven't been perfect at it, but I've lost 20 lbs since we started and my husband has lost 50! It's so much more sustainable than anything else we've ever tried.

i really thought this was about eating disorders, but it really seems she has no time. she sleeps past her alarm, and the camera zooms up on a school book when she's sleeping that's open like she studied all night long. she is seemingly one of the last people to be at the bus stop. i dunno why she didnt get a banana or something quick so im not sure why. if she does have an eating disorder, that explains why she said she's gonna feel sick when the narrator describes more food.

@@cestlavie490 Or YOU must be. I have always hated breakfast. I don't feel hungry until 11-12pm and it has always been like that. The times my mother forced me to drink milk when I had to go to school (so not late in the morning) I always threw it up to my way there. You had dinner and you just go to bed... Why in the world would I need to eat again? The dinner is enough to keep you going for most the day. Nowadays it's more that we're used to eat at a certain time, hence the body makes you feel hungry. But we don't need that much, that's why a lot of people are obese. And being an ex obese myself, I've understood what is really enough for us through intermittent fasting.
When I was young I never ate when I first got up. I would gag. Could only sip on a cup of tea. All through school I never ate it. Your body knows what it needs. All that time it was likely good for me

Here look this s*** up I just copied and pasted a simple search will tell you thyroid is a major factor I'm not saying there isn't food involved I'm saying that's not always the case
When I was a kid I never ate breakfast no matter what my mother did to encourage or tempt me.
My reason was that I was never a morning person and I always hated school (and later work). Because I found it so difficult to get going and ready in the mornings, I was always in a rush and if I ate anything other than a cup of tea before lunch, I would get terrible stomach cramps.
I also just never felt hungry in the mornings (even on weekends) and the thought of eating food early in the day made me feel queasy, so I never suffered as a result of a missed morning meal.
In fact later in life when I did begin to eat breakfast regularly, I found the only effect was to make me incredibly hungry (regardless of the healthiness of the food) by mid-morning which set up a risk of overeating throughout the day.
In retrospect, I definitely felt physically and mentally better when I skipped breakfast.
Maybe we should cut Cathy some slack and let her make her own choice.

Probably for the same reasons that many girls her age don't want to eat breakfast: She's too busy, she wants to stay thin, or she's simply not hungry in the first place and has the good sense not to stuff herself full of food when she doesn't want it. And milk first thing in the morning? Yeccchhhh!!!. It's probably whole milk in the first place and it wasn't until I started using skim that I could even tolerate it, and later in the day, at that.
Heh, I've never been able to tolerate skim milk. On the days I can tolerate the stuff at all, it has to be whole. (OTOH, I don't digest it--damn casein--so....)

This was filmed on Eastmann-Kodak film which used unstable dyes that faded in as little as 5 years. The cyan and yellow dyes faded most which causes the magenta spectrum of color to dominate the film.
And then came Kodachrome. I worked at Eastman Kodak. The fading thing was huge. Billions in R&D.
Maybe she doesn't want milk and butter smothered over every food item! I don`t blame her :b They even tried to convince us that a small serving of green beans needs a heaping mound of butter and you obviously can`t eat bowl of fruit without it covered in milk. My children try eating breakfast but it makes their stomach hurt. They need to be up at least 1 1/2 hours to eat anything. Even something lite like fruit.

Those are all valid possibilities. I didn't have brothers or sisters, and my mother didn't let me sleep in on school days. She worked so she would save the pancakes or French toast for weekends. My grandma taught me how to make grilled cheese- my favorite to this day- and my mom and dad were raised on the types of breakfast foods popular in Central Europe: good bread, cheeses, cold cuts, some sliced bell peppers or radishes. So that's what I grew up enjoying too. Sleepovers at friends' houses revealed that they just ate the array of Kelloggs/Post cereals, and they thought 'my' breakfasts were 'weird'. I thought theirs were 'boring'.
