  • This video talks about the reasons why a Diesel Particulate Filter gets blocked and the best available method to get this problem fixed.
TUNAP was the first company to develop and patent a no-removal particulate filter cleaning system. Our technology allows blocked filters to be cleaned without removing them. This saves a large amount of time and will saving £100's in repair bills.

Best advice ever I got from my father, 40+ years experience as diesel engineer working with diesel engines up to 100000bhp :
Use good fuel, proper maintenance oil and filters, every time you drive it get it up to temperature and floor it, burn off residue !!
Also for gasoline, engines are not made to drive around for 5 minutes @ 1600rpm.

Just quit buying crap fuel and use a good quality additive before your oil changes and you'll be fine. I'm so sick of people talking about doing deletes. Deletes do more harm then good in modern diesels. These aint 1980's diesels guys. Coking turbos, clogging injectors, blocking up liquid cooled EGRs is just a sign of bad maintenance and not knowing how to keep your rig from spewing out noxious crap. Get real people. Those of you doing deletes and cutting all this stuff off of your trucks are the reason why they put all this crap on there. One more thing to note. You guys may have powerful trucks but they smell like ass. If you have to cut all this stuff off to get power maybe a diesel engine isn't for you.

Get the engine fully warmed up and drive from one motorway junction to the next in third gear, at 4000 rpm without going into the red on the rev counter. Check you have sufficient engine oil in the engine before doing this process. Once the engine feels more eager to rev, the dpf should be less clogged with soot. @@toddfarrill5783 Ok let me educate you, Portal is a computer game released by Valve in the mid 2000s. It runs on the same game engine as Half Life 2. In Portal 2 there is the robot ball called wheatley that was created to be an idiot, and wheatley managed to take control of the whole scientific facility that created him. Previously in control of the facility was Glados, a clevar but mean robot potato. When wheatley gets control of the facility he manages it poorly and nearly lets the nuclear reactor powering the facility explode. You (the player) manage to get Glados back in control at the very last moment saving the facility and sending wheatley to the moon.
If you have a computer and spear time I highly recommend you give Portal 2 a playthrough, it's fun, challenging and really gets your brain thinking as there are lots of puzzles.

I bought a 2014 Vauxhall Vivaro Van with low milage for the use of Courier work, taking out a loan to do so, and this DPF thing has been a ROYAL PAIN IN MY ASS every few weeks to a month. I take it in to be sorted with a garage, they clean it out and regen the DPF, costing me £75 a time, a couple of weeks later, bastard warning lights come on again, sometimes with a "STOP" light too, which just stresses me out. Had a chap come and do a thorough clean out of the fuel system and DPF, 6 weeks later, same shit. There is no such thing as 'Supermarket Fuel' - fuel conforms to the same standards and comes from the same refineries as the branded oil major petrol stations. The fact you have 11 likes on such bs is comedy gold.

We would not advise the DPF being removed with the new MOT changes in the UK that started on the 20th of May. Now if there are any signs that the DPF has been removed the car will automatically fail its MOT and you will need a brand new one installed.

So, the filter is designed to catch carbon so it isn't released into the atmosphere, but the filter clogs up, and needs cleaning, which blows the carbon through the exhaust and.... into the atmosphere.
    So, useless. That's called useless.

Burn the particles in high temperature is a bad idea to get rid off nitrogen. Instead of high temperature treatment, aghast gases or smoke should cool off to pass through regular filtration that means a filter can be replaced periodically when ever it gets dirty. No need machinic or any specialist but current system is just peace of crap and unnecessarily burden on trucking industry which increased truck maintenance and sale out price.
