Gave myself an 83rd Birthday present yesterday. The Tudor Pelagos 39. After Much research and deliberations. Pleased and delighted with this watch which will never leave my wrist, but it will look different since I have 6 straps I just bought for it. Get yourself one and smile at it every day.
Quintessential tool watch! Very nice. I got myself a BB58 blue when I retired from the AF after 21+ years…former C-130 Navigator here. Thanks for your service & stay safe!
Thanks for the compliment brother. Thank you for your service as well and it’s always great to see comments from veterans on this channel. Enjoy retirement 🙏
Congrats on your new Pelagos 39 and your career shift/advancement! I too did the same thing and bought the P39 from the AD (Ben Bridge Ala moana) upon receiving the good news on my career shift in the Army. Love the watch and has been my daily!
Love to hear it brother. Thank you for your service and keep rocking that watch. I go to Timeworks fairly frequently so if you ever see me come say hi.
Congratz bruv! I also just bought my pelagos 39 as a milestone at work. Had to get it back to the dealer as it seemed something was loose inside the movement keeping the seconds hand stopping. So now I wait a week or two, and then I can enjoy it for real!
Congrats, fantastic choice. It fits you so well. Maybe the only modern Tudor I would ever consider myself. Enjoy 5 Rings too, the watch also compliments the book!
Thanks TGV. It’s got that no-nonsense feeling about it. The first thing I did after walking out the AD with the watch on my wrist was find a cafe to sit down at and crack open the book.
Congrats, Mr. Weibel. I picked up my P39 late-2023. I have been in love with it ever since. Most legible, practical, modern tool dive watch in my current collection. Without caring about scratches, dents, and dings, I, too, plan on putting it through its paces by wearing it daily as intended. One thing to be aware of: while Tudor will definitely service every aspect of a Pelagos, they refuse to refinish it due to the titanium. That is not of concern to me, because I do not want my watches refinished. Good choice in music. Since my late-teens, I have been a fan of Erik Satie. Thank you for your service. My brother is a veteran of the Marine Corps. Machine gunner. E-5 (or E-6). Three (3) tours in Afghanistan.
Congratulations on the Pelogos! I love the band...I had a hard decision recently between a Pelagos, and a GS Mistflake. I picked the GS--I am going to get that Pelagos next. It's a matter of when. Good choice!
You honestly made a great choice with that GS. To this day I haven't seen a GS that I didn't like or at least appreciated. You have great taste. I hope to see that Pelagos on your wrist soon too.
I agree with you about this watch design speaking to you on a deeper level. I was at my authorized dealer looking at this the black bay 54 black bay 58 and the black bay pro. This one just spoke to me.
@@WornDownCrown the short answer is it just "fit me". This answer will be all over the place. on the 58 people love the red triangular lume pip, I'm very 50:50 on it. I do like gilt on a retro inspired watch but for me the BB36 anthracite gilt is the best iteration of this for Tudor as it's an under the radar masterclass in formal but sporty. Having gilt on bezel a dial on the 58 is nice but it's a little too much for my taste. I love the titanium on the p36. It's a modern sci fi cool touch. Yeah it may scratch more easily but I've seen pics of what it does long-term and it wears well with character. On a "serious" dive watch at this price I like the flatter box crystal rather than the domed. Both the BB and pelages have the snowflake hour and second hands but I feel like that combo is better earned and fits better on the pelagos given its ethos. I know some reviewers wish the pelages was matte everything but I love the subtle "sunburst" on the bezel. It's almost like a "negative sunburst" like it's sucking in light - again another cool sci-fi's effect. Paying retail for Tudor in this era it better have a t-fit clasp. I guess the BB54 answers some of these complaints but the pelagos 39 just does it better in my completely subjective take.
Great Book. Read that over 20 years ago, I should hit it again. Oh yea, I like the Pelagos... but the new BB monocrhome is also really nice, but I don't like their domed bubble glass and aluminum bezel for that price.
Is that Minecraft music in the background? LoL I love the Pelagos 39. I love using it. It is light, adjustable clasp, no-date, and compact. But the color scheme is probably the most balanced of the bunch. Just be watchful of the grade 2 titanium. It scratches pretty easily.
😂 it’s Erik Satie’s Gymnopedie No. 1 Yeah. Everything aesthetically about the Pelagos 39 is on point. I’ll certainly take care of the watch but I fully expect to see some scratches on it very soon. I don’t mind though. They should be easy to buff off with a scotchbrite pad.
After owning this watch for the past 18 months the only nit I have to pick is the weak lume on the minute hand. At 3 in the morning the rest of the watch is lit up like a Xmas tree…but for some reason known only to God…or Tudor…the minute hand is virtually AWOL. That said it’s not a heart or deal breaker..and it’s a very often daily wear..quite comfortable…and many time preferable to my trio of Rolexs or any of my Omegas or Breitlings….especially in large metro environments where a luxury watch and a target are synonymous

Congratulations on the achievement and the Pelagos 39. You made a good choice the 39 is my Army retirement gift.
Thanks for your service and congrats on making it to retirement 🤙

Glad you both don't baby your watches, I'm in the same camp but I gotta say not sure this was the right music for a "bad *ss watch" video.

Thanks man 🤙

You look seriously disturbed as well , that Patrick bateman vibe😅
Great Watch! What do u think about the BB54?
I haven’t seen it in person so I can’t really say. It looks really cool in photos though 👍
@@WornDownCrown Ok, I own both watches. Pelagos the perfect modern tool watch & the BB54 an elegant vintage tool watch, a great combination.
@@Julian_O91 that’s a good juxtaposition, the BB54 is definitely a bit more refined than the Pelagos in its aesthetic.

Agreed, those aspects are part of the reason I don’t have a black bay myself

I’ve noticed the same issue on mine. I’ll be doing a more in depth review of this watch in a few months and I plan to talk about this
why do you speak like you're trying to convince someone you're innocent, coy is an understatement
This is such an interesting comment to me.
Good for you, congratulations!
Thank you so much 😀
Congratulations.. awesome watch
Thank you so much 😀
Congratulations 👏👏👏
Thanks! 😃
I love this watch, but i'm not a fan of titanium 😩
I said the exact same thing two years ago when I first tried it on.
Titanium really sings on a bigger watch like the Pelagos 42
you seem to have a big sadness inside. What is going on?
I appreciate your concern but I’m doing pretty well right now.
