I live in north-west indiana and have been finding gymnopilus luteofolius, i already uploaded to i naturalist , i noticed them to be kinda rare for the area, or at least no one cares about anything other than cow or morels in my area..
@Deicide219 it is definitely one I continue to look for in Michigan. Some places in Northern Indiana. I know people near Lansing that find them and people near middleburry Indiana. At this point it's just timing and environment. I'll definitely check out the iNat observations
No mention of psychoactive properties? Perhaps a legal thing or a personal preference. All good. However, your observance on these characteristics of this mushroom would have been beneficial. You guys are the best mushroom channel on TH-cam.
Turns red there at the base of the stem too
What a great log for sharing examples in every stage of growth
Finally Im not the only one seeing Gyms out here in MI. Thanks for all your videos!
@@GreenTableGardens Eric in Indiana is in constant battle with social media on educational videos . We will see how well this sails .

Been picking these all summer along with luteofolius in MN 😊
@mr.giggles4995 I rarely find luteofolius . It is a great gym though . Preferred by many
You think the bitterness is due to the alkaloids?
