Author's note
As we established in video 01001, 'así-así' could mean 'so-so/ok' but you might find 'más o menos' more common.
am a grade 8 kid in jamaica .who was studying for my mid term exam in spanish i watch how you were teaching and i got it right away..........thank you keep up the good work........
Hey tomorrows my Spanish final yay
Did you graduate yet?
this guy is a senior now probably or a junior
I am in 4th grade this is really helping thanks Senor Jordan.
This is the most helpful Spanish video series I have ever seen. Thank you for this and never stop helping kids with Spanish.
This will help me pass Spanish. Gracias Senor Jordan!
Thanks, Jordan,you are a natural teacher, you will go far. l have been watching your videos for an hour and I'm hooked. Thankyou.
i think it's quite impressing how although this video is nothing like today's videos in terms of quality, so many people prefer to watch this to learn spanish instead of those high quality videos. i guess only a good teacher can make that happen :)
Thanks, I think! :-)
@@SeñorJordan I meant the camera quality! haha. I guess I worded it wrong. Sorry about it
@@lizzyespanol5778 No problem! Thanks for the compliment then!
You're a great teacher. muchas gracias !
Hola Senor Jordan. Thank you for investing so much time and effort to make a vast series of excellent videos. I agree with Satomi Armstrong who wrote: "Your explanations are very concise and clear." I find you often answer most of my questions within your lessons. I especially like your use of parentheses to show the optional personal pronouns in verb conjugation lessons.
ratio
as in the name "felix" or how do you say "feliz" for a woman?
"feliz" doesn't change for male or female but with more than one of either would be: felices
Come back daddy espanol you got me through 6th grade
The only video my teacher has sent that is helpful
a mi me gusta mucho tus casas.Soy una chica- polaca y vivo en Espana desde 1 ano.Muchas gracias
hmm... great question. I've noticed 'andar' used a LOT in day to day use for a lot of different things and have rarely heard 'montar' but from what I can tell, they're both understood.
im in grade 7 in jamaica and because of ur videos im top spanish studying in grade 7
Thankyou so so much!! you help me understand lots of thing!
I needed this for a Spanish test because forget to bring book home to study
muchas gracias !
You would say, "estoy feliz" which I'm pretty sure I explain in the video.
@ilovepurplebanana
I just did whatever I could to learn it. I would turn on Spanish television whenever I could (when I would be visiting a place that had it), I traveled here and there. I would always try to speak to people I knew spoke Spanish. I would listen to music in Spanish. I bought children's books in Spanish. Anything I could get my hands on.
Very clear examples of the verb Estar. Thank you!
thanks for making this video. i didnt quite get it when my teacher taught to us today. but u help me understand it more :D
Gracias por tu ayuda.
excellent teacher
This helped my daughter alot
Muchas gracias! Tiene asistir a mi mucho este año en mi clase de español! Voy (a) ser un professor de español uno día. Tiene un día bien! (I think that's how you say the last sentence)
thank you
you are helpful
Sorry for never getting back to you.
I don't teach 'vosotros/vosotras' because it is not used in Latin America when speaking Spanish. My grammar tends to follow more of a Spanish standard of Mexico.
Hope that clarifies.
pero nadie dice "asi asi"
Your are professional Bro ,, gracias
'Yo soy serio.' = I am a serious person.
General explanation (there will be exceptions to the rules):
Estar is for feelings and location. Sometimes teachers say for things that are temporary.
Ser is for personality, physical attributes, time, date, nationality, religion, occupation... Sometimes teachers explain that ser is usually used for things that are more permanent (exceptions: time, date)
Oh wow 🤩 he is good at Spanish
thanks this helped a bunch for my test i just could not under stand it and my teacher is not that good. thank you! :)
Hi my friend, I noted the same mistakes again, we do not say así-así in Spanish, we say more or less, más o menos. You are a good Spanish teacher, go ahead.
YOUR AMAZING.
i looooove your vids. keep them coming.
helpful
gracias, senor! This has been most helpful - -well made and easy to follow in structure and presentation. hasta luego. carlito
señor*
muchas gracias....
This is very helpful
This helps so much keep up the good work
Ye Spanish my fav
Muchas Gracias !!!!
You are awesome, this is perfect!
Dude you are the BEST!!!!
Well, that's because in this example is suposed that a different person is answering the question.
Examples:
Jenny: ¿Cómo estoy (yo)? (Yo) estoy cansada.
Or:
Mary: ¿Cómo estoy (yo)?
Jenny: (Tú) estás guapa.
I hope it helps, I'm from Spain.
Bravo!!!
very nice lessons
EN EL MINUTO 1:33, ASI-ASI, YO JAMAS LO HE USADO, REGULARMENTE ME DICEN "COMO ESTAS" Y MI CONTESTACIÓN SERIA "MAS O MENOS, REGULAR, NORMAL, X" POR LO MENOS EN MI ESTADO ASI SE DICE, ME GUSTO MUCHO TU CANAL,SALUDOS.
@SantoLuzbel
Gracias por su comentario. Resulta que sí se usa la frase, pero se me hace que sólo se utiliza en España.
I've also heard from a Puerto Rican friend: "correr en bicicleta"
This is awesome! Your explanations are very concise and clear. Do you have a playlist of videos in this series?
@anjolynn
I'm not asking how 'you are feeling'... with which you would respond 'I am fine' (you --> I)
I am asking how 'I am feeling' which you would respond with 'you are ___'" (I-->you)
you wouldn't answer with 'I' unless you're the same person as me.
I love your videos!
For how you're feeling and where you are, always use the verb ESTAR :)
It was great seeing the video!
this was great KNOWLEDGE
vanossgaming boys!
@JokersMX650 no , they teach you in class that estas is saying you are , but really its just saying are in the tu form , but its understood that its you are , or are you in this case, just ilke in ingles , are in the tu form is , YOU ARE and in the plural form THEY are and so on, its your choice to add THEY OR YOU OR HE HIM HER etc. hopefully you understand , if you don't just keep asking me
You're a good teacher :=D
there are two verbs we can use to mean different things... SER and ESTAR... both mean 'to be' in English but we use them for different things. I should be making a video soon about their differences.
We don't use the emocionado word instead of it we say "contento" or "alegre", in the same way you say he is happy or glad, we never say "él está emocionado", the correct form is "él está contento".
thx really help
the quality is really good
@tontitofrito There's also "andar en bicicleta" And that´s the way we say it in Mexico beacause "correr en bicicleta" doesnt make sense for us.
And we dont say "así así" we say "más o menos"
Konichiha Jordan san, though I'm from the east, I would like to say thanks first to english, obviously I used it as a tool to learn another language like spanish.....
thanks
I know, I just think it would be nice if you did. We do hear this form in our Spanish lessons, Maybe because the teacher is Spanish. Anyway, I love your videos - enjoy them so much - keep up the FANTASTIC job. Have a nice day!!
I love your videos :)
Great pictures to enhance your lesson on ESTAR - ja ja ja Again, I'll be connecting it to my blogs for teaching Spanish on wordpress at latamaritabonita and for IST's language blog on wordpress at istlanguages; Muchas gracias for all your hard work! Sra. Tamara
@blokuk You can say "montar en bicicleta" (ride on bike as direct translation).
pero cada region tiene sus dichos... el problema es que tambien pronuncia a veces mi amigo la doble 'r' como 'j' asi es que dijo "cojer en bicicleta' pero yo pienso que correr es mas probable que coger. ;-)
vosotros estáis (you are) missing. Thanks for sharing your Spanish with us
"en" is "in, at, on"... "a" is occasionally used for "at" but not in your examples.... "en" should be used with location....
so, so en espanol es mas o menos ojala te ayude. De todas maneras tu programa de espanol es el mejor en miles que ay.
GENIUS
To continue with, I would like to ask how about related to "vosotros" at this moment I am studying thru books and other materials but then again I am curious of your presentations how come this were'nt included, perhaps there must be a valid reasons. Anyways, many thanks and more power.
arigatou gozaimashita,
your videos are greats! but we don't use "así-así" to say "so-so", we say "más o menos" :)
Thank you for the video. it is really helpful. So we can say Cómo estás tú? Why we cannot say Cómo esta?
Mr. Jordan, you use the preposition "in" in the answers to your questions location. Also possible is it to say "the restaurant" and "the pool" for "at," or is "in" required? thank you very much
I do... if you go to my channel page, the videos are grouped in playlists...
I don't think "CORRER en bicicleta" is right, since it's restrictive regarding the speed, CORRER implies fast speed and you don't always ride a bike fast...
asi asi se suele decir meneando la mano o la cabeza haciendo ver que se quiere decir mas o menos
at 4:45 where it says Alicia y Gabriela is a picture of a male....Why is that?
Due to my lack of artistic skills you are only supposed to focus on the emotion portrayed in the picture and assume it is talking about multiple people. ;-) Sorry for the confusion!
@JokersMX650 it means "and how are YOU?" and this is all ;)
How you feel and where you are, always use the verb estar!
I had to learn that
I saw this somewhere, and I thought it was from the late 2000s, or early 2010s, turns out I was right.
@JokersMX650
Sure.
hi there, I guess you may used the Italian term for 'happy', 'glad'. in Italian people say 'felice'...take care...
Sr. Jordan, you use the preposition "en" in the answers to your location questions. Is it also possible to say "al restaurante" and "a la piscina" for "at," or is "en" required? Muchas gracias.
hi, great work! how can i say "they" if there are both girls and boys?
Hey the guy in the cartoon at 1:50 has the same hairdo as me!
What is the difference between estas and esta? When do I apply esta versus estas? Give examples please? Why does the adjectivess come at the end of the sentence? Why does the subject come at the end of the sentence? Why are words dropped?
@SusanPaigeShriver
Not yet. Sorry!
good video
I have actually NEVER heard that. People used to compare me to Jimmy Fallon probably because I'm pale and have dark hair.
Thank you senor jordan. You helped me learn spanish (:
@tontitofrito SER is for things that will ALLWAYS be ESTAR means something that i am for the moment :)
@sfjow
felicidades
¡Hola!
Senior Jordan, what is the different betweem "estar" and "ser"?? I think it's the same like your 01012 video..
which one is right:
Yo soy serio o yo estoy serio??
Vielen Dank! :-)
hello my name is nima pronounced (neeema) and my question is how do you say i am happy... is it yo say feliceo?????
@Ggunay94
ellos = they (just guys.... and guys and girls)
both "andar en bicicleta" and "montar en bicicleta" are correct.
Greaaaaat lessons, man!
Q: do i have to say "yo" estoy, or enough to say "estoy""?
Hi
you can say both honestly.. im fluent and i say "estoy cansada" teachers usually want you to say "yo" though
Did you mean Felix as in the example at 2:49?
