But..I mean.. who was shaving him all those years in prison? I doubt prisoners in that time period were neatly grommed..The beard at the beginning; is both ironic and accurate.. it's not like he has its on the whole show.. just the beginning...ijs.
This Mrs. Lovett is astounding! Really had a touch of Angela Lansbury, massive talent! Joanna & the Beggar Woman's voices were absolutely gorgeous too, very impressive performances by everyone 👏
This is my favorite musical. I think I’ve watched every one of them on TH-cam and I’ve seen it many times in person. After watching this twice, I think this Miss Lovett is the best I’ve seen. She has the touch of Angela Lansbury that all of us Sweeney fans have, but she is much more dynamic and Her energy is quite remarkable. If I were a major theatre company casting this role, I would hands down give it to her
Oh this is so unique! The costumes and make up are very cartoony (except Anthony who is a normal guy). It's not just a straight production but a lot of little details have been added like the chorus coming in and singing to add empathis plus added dialogue. The stage is utilized so well with people coming up and circling. There isn't many props but the lighting is amazing.
i think anthony looks different because the actor playing him has darker skin. a lot of the makeup is all white with dark lines and i dont think it woulda aged well if they did that for him
I like this different approach: it makes everything seem distorted and grotesque, a cross between Dickens and kabuki theatre. It suits a mad opera like Sweeney.
I’m just starting this, but the chorus members all have amazing voices. The opening number alone was excellent vocally - not easy with a Sondheim score!
This lighting is simply incredible, tis the best thing about this production!! Staging was exciting ! And the costumes are banging. Diverse casting ❤ Lovett was a delight! Certain principle vocals were a struggle! Overall a deliciously bloody good show!
This production is so gorgeous! I saw that you guys posted TikToks about your process around the same time we did Sweeney Todd, so I’ve been following along! I played a female version of The Beadle this year :)

That is fantastic! When I was in high school, nobody except maybe three or four theater kids knew of Sondheim! I was obsessed with his shows and had the LP’s of everything (this was before CD’s - yeah I’m old - lol). I only recently found out that when Merrily We Roll Along was first cast, they wanted all unknown teenagers in the cast and they had a huge open call audition. I am so bummed out that I didn’t know back in the very early 80’s because I would’ve gone just for the experience of meeting him!
This young woman's performance as Mrs. Lovett was incredible! I am absolutely blown away by her talent. She's going places!
Okay Mrs Lovett is amazing holy hell
This is the most amazingly detailed high school production of Sweeney Todd I've ever seen.
Honestly everyone in this cast is amazing but I do find it ironic that Sweeney Todd is a barber yet he has probably the longest beard in London
But..I mean.. who was shaving him all those years in prison? I doubt prisoners in that time period were neatly grommed..The beard at the beginning; is both ironic and accurate.. it's not like he has its on the whole show.. just the beginning...ijs.

Costumes and were outstanding!

God I struggled dealing with Sweeney beard

@@joshuakohlmann9731 I LOVE IT TOO
Wow! I love this production so much!
And it from a high school.
I’m just starting this, but the chorus members all have amazing voices. The opening number alone was excellent vocally - not easy with a Sondheim score!
THIS is a high school production????

Thank you! Chris gave some great direction as we were lighting this in our overnight calls. (I was the Lighting Programmer.)

Everyone is great for their roles in this production, but I'd like to point out the Beadle's incredible accent
I truly love the dresses and shoes
The talent, the colors, the stage sets, the direction… absolute genius. McGriff keeps reaching higher. The pinnacle of high school musical theater 👏🏽🎭
… I mean… I guess it’s better than some… but yikes these kids need to get better. They sound so off. Like YIKES

Someone did a lot of work re-orchestrating this.
saw you guys on tiktok, what a fantastic production. The creativitys amazing, I can't imagine what a production of little shop would be like!!!!!
Love, love, love this! Bravo!!!
YALL HAVE A TURN TABLE IN HIGHSCHOOL???
Everyone did great although i do think that sweeney's voice needs to be a little more powerful 😊
THIS IS THE BEST THING IV'E SEEN
I see such raw emotion and power.
i love fiddler on the roof!
Saw this play live! It was amazing!
This production was a whole mood. Impressive. The male lead was weak, croaky and flat. The ladies crushed it.
i saw y’all on tiktok
Cool

best thing ive ever seen. nbd
Why the grotesque make up?
The concept was hauntingly beautiful. So they went for a highly artistic concept which spoke to the nuanced levels of the original.
The makeup in the original was grotesque as well.
