I hear what you are saying but to him I am sure the numbers are not good enough till you made it passed the promise lands and just like Marino he could not get it done! Sad to see impact players not getting a championship Reggie Miller for the Pacers has never won an NBA title very sad. Randy Moss falling short in the Superbowl. Numbers are great but a trophy and ring is so much sweeter!

Even some of those SB throws ... the one to McKeller against Washington that would have put them at least in the red zone. The two to Beebe in that game that would have been touchdowns ... the one to Riemersma against Dallas where Riemersma slipped and it was an int. All those balls were exactly where they needed to be.

Kelly was tough, had a good arm and accuracy, a leader, and was a winner. Anyone that can make to 4 straight SBs deserves to be mentioned as one of the greatest. Besides SB 25, can't blame Kelly to losing to better and dominating teams. He rarely gets mentioned as one of the greatest QBs of all time but during his prime he regularly beat his 83 alumni QBs Marino and Elway. Kelly should be mentioned top 10 QBs of all time.

That's MR. JIM KELLY. Watchin Jim Kelly at the helm was a master class in football. Fast n loose. T O P meant nothing to that team. That stat was completely eliminated from the mix. The Bills defence was ungodly. Imagine...any two offensive linemen in the NFL, name any two, could not block Bruce Smith. You wanna drag him up and down the field all damn afternoon? Kelly was a quarterback with a defensive players predatory sensibilities. His vision and instincts were that of a hunter. His mastery of the strange winds and ghostly atmospheric conditions coming off Lake Erie was as if he was born and raised on it's shores. Sunday's in Orchard Park will not soon be the same. Sweet memories remain number 12. Sweet memories remain.

Most people only remember that The 90s Bills lost 4 SBs to the NFC. But, they were 14-2 against the NFC in those 4 years. It makes those SB losses even more heartbreaking to Bills fans like me. That K-Gun offense was a machine! That No-Huddle offense would even work just as well today because the defense never gets a chance to change personnel. They were just devastating to other teams. The Bills were like a buzz saw back then. Kelly is underrated but so is Thurman Thomas. Thomas lead the league 4 straight years in yards from scrimmage. I don't think any other player has ever done that.

It has now been 20 years Jim Kelly officially retired and in all that time they have not had one half decent QB to replace him-Todd Collins, Rob Johnson, Doug Flutie, Trent Edwards, J.P. Losman, Ryan Fitzpatrick, E. J Manuel and now Tyrod Taylor--if you need to figure out why the Bills have not been back to the playoffs in 17 years-having no established QB is a major reason

I disagree. They had a pretty impressive leader and QB in Doug Flutie. I always felt he could have led Buffalo deep into the playoffs. But the front office went over Wade and screwed up badly. The rest is history and the Flutie Curse lives on.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Tyrod Taylor might turn out to be a top notch QB for the Bills. His athletic ability is outstanding. He's tough and smart. If the front office let's him work, things could be lookin up for Buffalo. Offensive line MUST be a priority.

My favorite Bill's QB: lost 4 in a row. For that, I love 'em !! I got a taste of Bills fans in Oct.-Nov. of 1990. I stayed with a gf at the corner of Main St. & Depew, down the street from the Uni@Buffalo where she interned at WBFO. Went to a Sabres game versus the Bruins at The Aud, shopped at Tops, ate at the Anchor and so on... cool town- except for obnoxious Bills fans.... Not even talking football with some of her party friends- when they heard I was from Philly ? Oh, right away it's "the Bills are better than the Eagles" or "Jim Kelly blows away Randall Cunningham...." Yeah, obnoxious. Then they went to 4 straight Super Bowls....AND LOST !! Good on ya, Buffalo. And one more thing: Scott Norwood, nor could. Did my heart good to watch them Bills fans eat a shit sandwich, straight up. 😎

15:54 started a 20 year stretch where the Bills only made the playoffs two times. The Buffalo Bills were the laughingstock of the NFL for years pre Kelly and decades post Kelly. Josh Allen and the Bills are going to bring it home very soon. Then we can all chill on the 0-4 thing.

They've always had trouble..the small market, with long winters and bad weather always deterred high profile athletes and coaches from going there..I always felt building a done would help this, but it would take away from the sense of authenticity you get in the great city of Buffalo
