    Do you have a take or thought of what might be affected over all on the length of space or spacers from or between the wheel to the base ? I added a 3 inch spacer to my Simucube2Pro base to the wheel which gives me much needed room to pull and insert the pin on the QR. My nephew helping me get all setup thinks i might should take it out because of all the force during the race.

    To bad they don't have a non-pass-through version of it, I would have bought it then because it looks really solid, but the wired pass through adds to the cost and it's basically useless to me anyways.
    Just ordered a similar one from NRG, but I'm afraid it will have some flex/play in it, as it's just a straight D-shape spigot without a conical shape to keep it snug, but it's also quite a lot cheaper.
    LTEC/Simlab's QR is probably the next QR I'm going to try out, as it's utilizing similar conical shape as the Cube QRX QR, but without a wired pass through.

They stopped the production of their older products doesn't mean there will be a significant change of their user base soon, and the new CSL DD is still coming with the old QR system. I assume the new QRs will only come with their high tier wheels first like the M4 GT3 and Bentley GT3 and it is not happening in this year. Do you think the CSL and CSW users will pay that much for a wheel like those?

    will the QRX QR work with a podium hub to replace it's quick release part?

    • @IN5T1NK3D
      @IN5T1NK3D 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      unfortunately, no. if you wanted to use the qrx with a fanatec wheelbase, you would mount the base side to where you would mount a wheel on the podium hub. doing this would basically give you double quick release, which is quite pointless.

    • @flipcoin6301
      @flipcoin6301 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the base side, you can stack the Podium Hub with this, so your Fanatec base thinks there is a Fanatec wheel attached. Then attach a 3rd party wheel to the QRX wheel side.

  • @timl9870
    @timl9870 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why didn't they design without the need of 'shims'? If they tested 50 wheels with the same tolerances of shims used, why didn't they use that tolerance to make a solid male connector, and save the consumer a lot of wasted time? Ridicules! This is a design flaw that they're not taking the time to alleviate. The best QR on the market right now is the one sourced by Simagic for their dd wheels, and it's a proper qr, flawless and solid. I have no idea why all the companies haven't followed Simagic's lead in this aspect. It's simple, solid, and no bloody cables. Let's not even talk about the Fanatec joke...Great vid Barry, but I wouldn't get this until it was modified to benefit the consumer instead of the manufacturer. The 'shims' are a 'sham'!

    Missed opportunity to implement a clock spring (like is used in real car's steering wheels for the airbag wiring) and get rid of the dangling cable altogether. Would have been a much more elegant solution.

    You know, for the price this doesn't really seem worth it... rather get the Q1R, this is just sloppy considering that it's from cube controls (another thing is that at that price for those wheels they should just include the QR). Not only that to begin with but they've already used up over half of the shims?? For that price you would expect better tolerances.... or just a better system!

    • @menacegtr
      @menacegtr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree with you there. i have one Q1R base and 4 wheels and in 4 years i only make a minute change either in or out and its fast and a super solid connection. I wouldn't trust this setup for years of use swapping out different wheels. Q1R for me
