    If you have to ask why they are practicing basic technique of kata after watching the 'black belts' in the front row then you really don't know your basic technique yourself.
    In JKA instructor school all we did was correction of basics, basics, basics, it's the core of all movement.

    I dont understand... You have a room full of black belts in a seminar and all they do is basic kihon? Can't they do this on their own time?

      The seminar is always for 3 days ... Day 1- Basic,Day 2 - Intermediate , Day 3 - Advanced ...
      However ... If you forget the basics of serving the others?

      What are advanced techniques of karate really? None. It's not like shorinji kempo or jujitsu whereby advanced wazas such as finger pressure are taught in higher Dan curriculum. Karate relies on perfection of kihon, that's what it's famous and good for.

      @@Rizaldjohan all I can say is look deeper into it. You got to look deeper. Karate is like the ocean you see the surface it looks like something but you got to look under it to see the depth.
