- Diastolic dysfunction (DD) is a truly complicated topic. In this detailed video, you will see a full recap of how to evaluate filling pressures and how to identify elevated filling pressures and diastolic dysfunction in echocardiography. Grading, measurements, and plenty of cases await you in this full video on diastolic dysfunction ððŦ
Topics to be covered:
What is diastole?
What is diastolic dysfunction?
How to measure according to 2016 DD guidelines
What to do in intermediate cases - using left atrial strain

I fully understand now my heart condition thank you for clear explanation and teaching right definition of my heart
Vielen Dank fÞr die extrem informativen und lehrreichen Videos!
Sehr gerne, es freut mich sehr, wenn es hilft ð
It's the best description with easy to understand details on DIastolic Dysfunction
Thanks for the kind words. Currently working on a "new version" with more details; I hope it will still be clear and easy to understand. Thanks ð
Thank you for a very clear presentation!
You are most welcome, I am glad if it helps!
Excellent!!
Thank you! Excellent presentation
You are most welcome, glad that you like it âš
Very informative , thank you
I am glad if it helps!
Ausome video, quite informative
I am glad if it helps and that you like it âš
Thank you so mucn
You are most welcomeð
Would love to get this PPT! Thank you its a great explanation!
Glad it helps and thx for the kind words ð
Great presentation
Thanks a lotâš
Thank you sir for such a nice video
You are most welcome ð
Speechless of this Great lec
Plz do LVSF and how estimate an accurate EF
Thanks a lot! EF will be a recurring topic âš
18:20 IN MODERATE TO SEVERE MITRAL REGURGITATION YOU SHOULD NOT APPLY MEASUREMENTS FOR DIASTOLIC DYSFUNCTION 27:09 SICK LEFT VENTRICLE 28:10 DILATED LEFT ATRIUM AND LEFT VENTRICLE AND REDUCTION IN OPENING OF MITRAL VALVE
Excellent video and information. This is the best video I've seen on diastolic function that i can put into practical use with echo.
Wow! Thanks for the kind words!
My echo cardiography report -
Valve(mitral valve)
E-A of MV flow is 1.64
E- 180 cm/sec
A-110 cm/sec
Pressure gradient (MM hg)- 6
Regurgitation grade-0/4
Are these parameters normal? please confirm this. I am requesting you with folded handð
Age-30
Gym goer but never tool steroid at all. ð
Normal as per age
At 28.02 the clip on the right side of the screen, that looks like apycal hypertrophy no?
Exactly!
Sir my age is 23 years old in my ecgo result everything is normal but have grade 1 diastolic dysfunction si its ok or ive becone heart patient ðĪðĪðĨēðĨē
From a medical standpoint a grade 1 diastolic dysfunction with a ânormalâ heart is not something you can quantify - see the part about the guidelines in the video. By means of being a patient - I would recommend seeing the cardiologist you trust in your area. These are educational videos, not consultations.
Tell me where echo course is conducted
The echo courses we offer are conducted in Austria in German, this DD course here is online ðž
Thank you so much . Pls let us know if there is any certificate course available either in person or online.
Unfortunately, no certification is possible because this is all free online content. Hands-on courses we do mostly in Austria, in German. If you have further questions or need hands-on training, please feel free to write via Facebook or Instagram ð
38 min you put e/ e' lat 13 and E/e' septal 15.. i think is all the way around.. thank you for share this video..
The normal e' septal is >7cm/sec and lateral 10cm/sec - let's assume that the E wave is 50cm/sec and the e' is exactly the cut-off => 50/7 = E/e' septal 7,1; 50/10 = E/e' lateral 5 which means the overall cut-off value septal has to be higher compared to the lateral value (as the lateral e' is normally the higher number) - I hope that makes sense :) . And I am glad you overall liked the video âš
@@heart_n_lungs i get it.. thanks again..!
Sir my lvidd is 52 is it normal if not then how to make it normal
End diastolic diameter of 52mm is normal
Im 39 and i have DD..when i was 19 inhad MVP..during MVP diagnoses i have normal bmi and now obese and DD diagnosed
Sorry to read that. I hope you have a treating physician to support you!
â@@heart_n_lungsmy cardio said not to worry and prescribed me alprazolam for restlessness and orphenadrine for chest pain..does anxiety cause DD?
Very informative video. THANK YOU
1:01:07 the measurements for e' done are wrong, actually s' has been measured as e'...... e' stands below the baseline...
But the overall presentation has been excellent..... I understood so many new things in your fabulous ppt.... Stay blessed.....
Marvelous!!!
First of all, thank you for your comment, however the measurements are the ones "below" the line - septal; if you take a look at the EKG & the value is 6,5cm/sec, and lateral, it is 8 cm/sec - so, both times the e' is measured. The S' is on both images a bit cut off ð
