It's amazing. These little critters actually have evolved interlocking gears in their hind legs. That gives them the ability to synchronously extend both legs to jump faster and farther.

These are pestkie little creature... we locally called these as appieds. They are white feathery and sometimes starchey, flea-like (though much bigger in size). They are most present in almost all kinds of plants even ornamental plants that bear flowers.
They feed on saps and juices and most of the time hides under the leaves and stems. In few days time the lelf will dry and the plant will eventually die no matter how eagerly you wanted to grow it or try to propagate it!
They spread and multifly so rapidly and can transfer from one species of bushes to the other. I had worst proning a near by mayabana in my house... to my dismayed it transfered to rosebush, to my kalamansi, to my ment, I can't belive it... its almost evrywhere!
I used malathion for its control. In three or so as spray, they are reduced in small quantity. But, I'm not sure if they're fully eliminated.
So, for me... they are pestkie ♥

I have several different planthoppers, leafhoppers, treehoppers, etc on my fence in the spring and summer and I am absolutely mesmerized by their various appearances. From the ones that look like they have cotton coming from their butts, to the ones with wax filaments that look like hairs coming from their butts, to the ones with absolutely gorgeous stripes of red and blue, they are what I look forward every day this time of year when I go out with my dog. They are just amazing.
