I have the green one it said it was waterproof i used it in snow it lasted two minutes no smoke just no throttle so I upgraded everything to hobby grade electronics
I have the 10428-A. Everyone I know that has gotten a WLToys 10428* the ESC/Radio is rattling loose in there. Mine the double-sided tape was there, it just hadn't been pressed down onto it. I gave it a press and it's been stuck there since. When looking for alloy replacement and hopup parts search for "K949" parts.

My only gripe with this is the 2 in 1 ESC/rx, and that is ONLY because the TX is such high quality for a budget rc. It would be nice to be able to use the included TX with a different RC if you ended up setting up a better one with the wltoys. I'd spend $5 on a new RX and link it up to my gt3-c, use the original wltoys tx on my mn-99. Just seems a shame that once you upgrade the OEM electronics in this, that tx will just collect dust in a parts box. I'm sure someone with more technical ability could find a way to re-bind the TX with a different Rx, but it's just simply beyond me.
Hint: The front differential is Open, so it's 3-wheel drive most the time. If you pull the front cover off the differential and pack it with heavy grease, like wheel bearing grease, it will effectively lock the front axles, and climb much better, but still leave enough slip that you won't break things.
You forgot the most important part. This is a carbon copy of a Vetrra Twin Hammers. The difference is. The plastic parts are made of a cheaper grade. The Vettera has the classic fiber based plastic. Which every RC racer will attest is something that is light, gives instead of breaking, and very very strong. Where as the WL toys. Is exactly what its called. A toy grade same plastic every Wal-mart toy is made of. This is wh y the Vettra is 350$+ . Oh and the electronics are a huge difference between the two. But as far as the tooling for the plastic molds. They are identical.
I have the standard 10428, but I never got a radio instruction manual. Any chance you could go through that Manual in depth so I could get a chance to see it? Unless you know of a digital copy I could get ahold of?

Have you discovered any improvements over the 10428-A besides the body shell and the lights?
