    Getting the same one (color, trim), but with black leather. Should be in around late April. Coming from a vehicle that averages 19 mpg and uses mid-grade gasoline, even 30 mpg will make a huge difference for me...especially only needing regular unleaded.

    • @UCversace

      Ironically I ordered black leather. But this dual tone came. I’m still very happy with it. Yea i came from the same. Your fuel bill will be significantly less and less frequent too

    Thanks for these updated videos, they have been great. I have the AWDSport trim, still in break-in period averaging 32 mpg mixed driving. For city, was able to achieve 40 mpg in stop n go driving but could be better with warmer weather (Cleveland, Ohio). Warmest so far have been 60 degrees. It’ll be interesting to see how much better mpg heading into spring/summer. Experimented a little on Eco & Normal with B Drive mode, did not notice much difference thus far, but will need to conduct more tests to really determine the mpg difference.

      So my latest tank ive been doing 46 streets 40 highway. Weird i know.
      Things I did differently: eco mode on freeway only. Honda mechanic explained to me that if used on streets it doesn’t allow fast enough acceleration for lights, so people push further on the pedal burning more gas. That its only good for slow acceleration differences like highways once up to speed.
      Also i did a 1 hour bout at 45-50 MPH. I found the car was most fuel efficient at this speed. And after 270 miles. It still reads 40.5 MPG. Even though ive done about 3-4 hours of highway (130 miles)

    Hopefully with what you do on your podcast you might get someone's ear and be able to get them to do a patch to fix the several imperfections...two things my 2020 CR-V does not have are is 1. Sorting the Favorites in the car nav by distance and 2. Being able to modify the search area by a location (town, state, etc.) and the 2023 does not have either functionality to do either. There must be many others out there like me that would like to see the common sense changes made to the Nav system! Thanks for all of your help!

    I'm getting around 41.0 to as high as 42.5 mpg combined (approx. 70% street 30% highway with moderate traffic). The trick is to use B mode all the time, set the regenerative level at 2 for most times and switch to 3 or 4 on downhills or when approaching stop signs or stop lights. Switch it back to regenerative level 1 or 2 when accelerating. Its still pretty cold here in California and I suspect that my mpg will jump up in the late spring months to early fall. Another thing to add, when on B mode, putting it at max regenerative braking level all the time is bad for your hybrid system as well as on your engine. Setting it to max makes it so that it is harder for your car to get up to speed making you stress your engine more. Setting it to the lowest level when accelerating makes you accelerate easier and puts less stress on your engine.

      Woah thats pretty insane! I'm barely managing to keep at 37.5mpg combined and I drive likes its a prius lol. Doesnt using B mode mean you cant coast? I feel like it slows down waaay to hard instead of coasting to save gas? I'm only 170miles into my new Crv so I wanna get the best advice I can before i rack the miles up haha

      @@lofimusiq I got 45.1 mpg on my last tank and so far I am at 47.5 on my 3rd tank about half way done. I drive in B mode. You need to use the paddles in B mode to flex the braking.

    • @jeschr3462
      @jeschr3462 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lofimusiq you gotta set it to level 1 or 2 when you want to coast. if you put it at 3 or 4 you can really feel your car slow down when letting off the gas. I put it at 3 or 4 always when in heavy traffic. if your new to your car dont fiddle with the regenerative brake levels too much as that can be distracting. you dont wanna rear end somebody. all around, i use level 2 the most as its the most useful for all situations.

    CR-V hybrid fuel consumption is a mysterious magical thing. I have a previous-gen hybrid, and I get about 32-34 MPG when driving routes that are mostly on one of our large roads (Fruitville Rd.) but 40-41 MPG on another very similar road (US 41/Tamiami Trail). And that's independent of traffic conditions. Both are long, flat 50mph st/roads, only real difference is the lighted intersection frequency. Yet, dramatically different fuel consumption numbers. Go figure...

Yesterday, I got 45.7 on a 10 mile city drive, going the speed limit, no jack rabbit starts and full regen. *note- your average mpg is displayed in the instrument cluster, left of speedometer. To get the mpg for each trip, you have to use the panel display and tap the energy-regen (shows the powerflow) button where you'll get the trip mpg. If you know what I just said-- then I'm not seeing what you are seeing and I am stumped. I have noticed the sign recognition needs a patch. It misses a lot of signs and often displays something that was not there, ie 90mph in a 70 mph zone. Another issue is the rear camera. It's pretty bad at night when there are light sources from other cars or backing up into a lit garage, the glare renders it unusable and you have to do it the old fashioned way , using your mirrors.

    Should note that the "hybrid" (battery) can only drive the vehicle under low power demands. Any time you go above about 15% power, the engine comes on. It's ALWAYS running as a hybrid. Perhaps what you mean is running on battery alone, in "EV Mode" as it shows on the bottom left.
    The engine isn't there to "charge the battery". It's there to make the car go, but it can send some of the power to the battery, it's just usually less efficient doing that.
    Braking is ALWAYS regenerative. It's part of how the hybrid system increases efficiency. Regular cars waste all the inertia through brake heat... hybrids capture some of it. A side bonus is that our breaks will last much much longer! I've got about 700 miles on my silver Hybrid Sport Touring, and I'm digging it so far. I like the blacked out door trim. I'm going to do that. I added some red valve stem covers... I like the little pop of red. I might get adventurous and paint the calipers red someday.

    Toyota has their hybrid models down pat. Their EPA numbers are also on target if not underrated. I have both a rav4 hybrid and a camry hybrid and I get 44 mpg and 51 mpg respectively. I planned on trading in for the CRV but I was waiting to hear back from current owners regarding mpg. I am hesitant bc the last CRV hybrid model also was very poor with economy and claimed higher numbers. I drive my Toyotas normally without thinking about mpg and they are still stellar. I was really hoping Honda could finally compete on that level as I've always been a Honda guy but theres no point in spending 40k+ for dismal fuel economy even when feathering the throttle.

    Was wondering when your next upload would be. I'm going to echo another comment on here - I'm kinda surprised you're seeing lower mileage. I'm seeing 36-38 mpg (low-40s for the first day or so after filling up). I find driving a Hybrid means I have to think alot about what Mode I'm using. I only use ECO when I'm cruising at high speeds on the freeway in cruise control. Most other driving is done in NORMAL. If you leave it in ECO, you have to mash the accelerator which takes it out of EV too quickly. I only use SPORT for climbing hills. I find I can keep it in EV for super long stretches - not just the 2 miles you mentioned. Probably has something to do with how much the battery is charged. And since it's been so cold, the gas engine kicks in for a little while until the cabin heats up, then I find it flips back to EV as long as I'm not mashing for the gas.
    Loving the chrome delete. I bought the kit but haven't had time to install.

    My Passport (which is not hybrid and significantly bigger) gets around 5-8 mpg more then the rating they gave at purchase it was rated at 19hwy 21 city i get 21 hwy 23 city in non eco and 23 hwy 24-25mpg in city on econ So i imagine the CRV would work similar it may also have to do with how fast you accelerate

    Have you looked into upgrading the horn at all?

    • @UCversace
      @UCversace  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. I know its a light horn. But its much less confrontational and less likely to agitate someone. Good for a friendly beep. I think they did it to lower road rage incidents.

    It seems like a headache to adjust the modes and regen level to max out the mpg. It’s like a video game. Wouldn’t the RAV4 be better without this hassle to get best mpg? I drove the CRV hybrid yesterday and it is much more appealing drive than a RAV4 but mpg matters for me however high markup on Toyota will prevent me from buying

    So.. maybe I'm tripping.. but I've been seeing some Sport/Sport Touring trim with the black bumper things and some are chrome. Is it black for a selected color?

    • @derrickbowyer8110
      @derrickbowyer8110 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the chrome is on the touring and the black is on the regular sport.

    We have two 2023 Honda CRVs and they both are making noise in the front of the car. Sounds like a rattle by the windshield or dashboard, I have taken both of them to the dealership since they're still under warranty and they can't figure out what it is in neither vehicle. One of my CRVs is the EXL and the other like yours, the hybrid sport touring. I also find that the auto climate control doesn't work properly specially using heat unless put on very high level on both vehicles. I'm usually very satisfied with Honda CRV vehicles but not this time around.

    why do you need a 2 vinyl types to matte out the window trims?

    • @UCversace
      @UCversace  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The back window is irregular shaped. So you need a different size.

    I am really considering the new CRV - this model Sport Touring Hybrid to replace my wife's 2016 CRV. Her car has 41K miles on, in very Good condition with small exterior imperfections. I estimate it has a Trade in Value of about $19K - we have no loan. So, do we trade in - move up to this model at close to $40K to save gas money ?? yes, this has some nice newly updated features , more Torque and HP overall than ours, and probaly much quieter. I think I read that it has a better AWD system too. The dilemna is this: Layout another $20k (either in a new loan [with higher interst rates now] or a combo of Cash out of pocket and a smaller loan), to get an average of 36 MPGs vs the average 21 MPGs with our 2016?? The CRV is the Goto Daily driver (wife and I are retired at 70 YO), driving grandkids, doing local errands, no more Commuting. Notwithstanding the better power, and more enjoyable ride overall, if I do the math..... the MPG differnce = about $600 a Year gas savings @ $4 a gallon estimate, based on roughly 6,000 miles per year. If I leave the $20,000 in the bank at 3% interest that = about the same!!. So its a purely subjective thing to buy or lease a new car. One thing that age teaches is that Novelties Do Wear off....usually in about 3 months time!! I'll try to post what we do. Another thing I've learned in my infinite wisdom, if You walk into a New Car Dealership, the new Car will be Winking at You... Tempting you.

      Haha very insightful! Yea, with interest at ally bank at 3.75 % its a weird time right now. Personally I did all financing, no downpayment. 4.9% made it a business expense, so the real interest rate is arounf 2.5% after tax write offs, I can keep the majority of the money in a high interest No Penalty CD at 4.75% , ofc it goes down every month as I pay, and technically I come out to profiting on the loan.. haha. but very minimally.

    So 30 mpg for the gas and you are getting 35. Darn I would be hoping for a little better. Are there different tires on the two hybrid versions that may be hurting yours a little?
