@@Kiollyperspective is so different at times. I thought: wow, Bayern got caught on the counter three times against Eintracht, just like the video warned they might be.
i highly rate Kompany's ideas, but there are still 3 questions that need time to check: 1. Human management, always human management, either with the players, staff and the board. Bayern has no place for any sigma male, proven by Ancelotti's demise. The breaking point is always tip-toeing away from him. I want to see how he can deal with that where Flick, Nagelsmann and Tuchel fell 2. Player quality for the system. Currently, Min-Jae and Upamaguire are their Achilles heel, plus aging Neuer. 3. Their consistency. Can Olise keep up to the end, or just a new Sane? He's basically what pre-injury Sane was. Gnabry is really making a comeback, or just like Anthony Martial? Can Min-Jae and Upamecano keep up with this system's extreme defensive demands even in UCL knock-outs? Or there will be a Paris taking that heel off?
As a Bayern Munich fan, I find myself increasingly frustrated with Kompany's playing style. The team seems to rely heavily on a single tactic throughout the entire match, from kickoff to the final whistle. Unlike other successful managers like Pep, who understand the importance of varying tactics such as possession, ball circulation, defensive solidity, and counter-attacks, our team's rigid approach is concerning. For instance, during the game against Frankfurt, we were in the lead during extra time, but the risky defensive shape left only two defenders vulnerable to a team known for deadly counter-attacks. It's crucial for the team to be more strategic and adaptable. With players like Coman and Davies on the field, a more defensive and counter-attacking approach would likely have been more effective in preventing Frankfurt from breaking through. Furthermore, the team's tendency towards hurried and misplaced passes is a glaring issue. When outnumbered at the back and with the entire team pushed forward, attempting ambitious forward passes is unnecessarily risky. Just as we are unpredictable in our attacking play, our defensive strategy should also be dynamic. By sitting back, absorbing pressure, and striking on the counter, we can catch opponents off guard and apply trademark pressing when necessary. City's ability to lull opponents into a false sense of security before delivering a decisive blow highlights the importance of strategic play. We must focus on playing the opponent rather than sticking to a predetermined game plan throughout the match. Improving our game management and adapting to the opponent's tactics will make Bayern a formidable force under the boss's guidance.
that's what Bundesliga cannot provide like EPL. In Premier League, the competition is extremely harsh, and the team quality differenciate so much while each teamhas their own ideas beside the classic kick n' rush counters. Pep tweaks Man City to avoid them from effectively countering him, even if some ideas are crazy and/or straight up awful. And in Man City, Pep holds absolute power and respect from every side, especially the club directors. He has total freedom to control Man City team, further amplifying his radical demands that a player needs to be well-rounded in many skills, many roles and coordinate with each other in the match. Some ideas are shit like Sterling false 9, the super narrow 2-3-5 in early 22/23 season, or Gundogan single pivot in 20/21 UCL final, but eventually the team still gets the trophy. His athletes also keep growing and thriving until highly circumstancial things hamper them, mostly injuries. In Bayern, things are completely different. Very few clubs have players so powerful that they can directly overthrow a manager, and FC Hollywood is always a reminder of that feature in Bayern team. And Bayern is so powerful that it's basically the political focus when it comes to football. Being Bayern manager is just as toxic as being a Man United manager, you're dealing with a team filled with high ego atheletes and the directors who straight up biases the players and not giving a look about your own integrity. Bundesliga teams and Bayern have identical playstyle, but the competition is limited and Bayern can easily squash the league with their players. The education and training system grooves that playstyle into every kid, and they just grow the same. This Chinese-like system is designed to farm trophies, but it seems they need to open a little bit. Nagelsmann is one that i feel very sad. He favors versatility through simplicity, he is crazy hungry for progress like Pep, he wants to break the mold you just said. But he also wants absolute power like Pep, that alone is a challenge against the highest egos plus the most veteran and celebrated players who can overthrow him.
Although I like Kompany and think the job he does is very, very solid, I am also concerned. As you showed, Bayern uses essentially a 2-4-4/ 2-4-3-1 in possession, which is very offensive, especially against top opponents. The CB Duo (Upa and Kim atm) have to defend half the pitch alone and if no change happens, then Bayern will continue to be very vulnerable if the opponent is good at quick transitions or counterattacks just like we saw today against Frankfurt und as we also saw that against Villa. The defensive stability and thus the overall balance is lacking, despite the fact that the xGA-values are fine so far ... The result is that basically every game becomes a gamble if our attack can score more than the opponent's attack. The difference to Guardiola's tactics can be seen in the results: Bayern won 9:2 against a small team (Dinamo Zagreb) in the Champions League, whereas City "just" won 4:0 against Slovan Bratislava, but they didn't concede any goal and not even any chance! I think this defensive stability is more important than to score as much goals as possible (which seems to be Kompany's objective), because you only win titles if you concede few chances and goals.
Manchester City has a world class RB, Walker. He ususally stays back and stays close just above the 2 CBs. Thats why it is so hard to counter Man City, and their opponents usually go in the other side of the pitch, where Gvardiol(He is the more attacking oriented fullback) leaves a huge gap when he goes forward. Thats how Man City conceded goals this season many times from counters, but they are indeed way more better defensively than Bayern. Kompany needs to adjust couple things, and he might actually need to sacrifice one of the fullbacks, which should be Davies in my opinion, to stay back... His pace is unmatched, and he can easily catch up with fast attackers. But if Davies stays back he will have a new problem, which is the left wing.. but Kompany should just completely ignore that area IMO Gnabry can stay there at least he will drag 1 if not 2 players out of position, also Kompany need to sacrifice one of the 2 box-to-box midfielders to 1 CDM, Palhinha. He have to play, if Kompany using this high line style of play. Upamecano is great, Kim is great but at the moment these 2 have the hardest role in the Bayern's team, and it is actually very easy to go through them, since both turns like a truck and slow as a truck... Yeah, Kompany needs to adjust the things up at the back for sure. Especially when it comes to defend those counter attacks, because ooh boy, Frankfurt basically copy pasted Aston Villa tactics, even their formation was the same.. 4-4-2 to match Bayerns 2-4-4. Which is kind of crazy if you think about it. 4-4-2 counters 2-4-4... Perfectly counters it. Thats where my idea comes in. Davies a more stay back player. That will make the formation 3-3-4, but you can also have 1 box-to-box to be as a CDM and in that way it could look like as 2-2-3-3 . Kim, Upa at the back, just front of them Davies and the CDM, front of them one of the RBs with a more central role(Kimmich is perfect there), and Musiala and Pavlovic... Gnabry/Olise on the wings and Kane in front.
What i saw today was a high sucide high line from kompany in which they lost possession in upper part of the pitch and resulted into a counter attack goal for Frankfurt, there are good signs for this Bayern team but that high line is gonna cost them goals like they did today. Teams like Barca will take advantage of this.
The defending is very worrying the spaces they leave behind make it easy for teams like frankfurt to exploit. Hopefully they can find solutions to make a good press while being compact at the back
Teams that defend deep are scoring counter attacks and he still isn't dealing with that ..Leverkusen ,Aston villa and Frankfurt have shown everyone how its done.

Absolute myth. People just expect him to score or assist in every big match going on. Which is ridiculous. Don't know a single player who played for a team at the level of Spurs season in season out and score or play key passes as much as Kane has.
You guys need to chill, This is only the beginning, and he's doing give him time and he will improve the defense and don't forget that Hiroki will be available after the international break
Great timing. They have played mid to poor teams until Leverkusen. Some of us called patience before he went went through this stretch of 2-3 games. 1 loss and 2 draws now.
Great analysis. But i think that kimmchs role would have been worth exploring. In posession he often dropps in almost into the right back position to take charge of the build up. What do you make of that? I dont really get the idea behind that. It happens so often that it has to be a concious decision
Still so many weaknesses to Kompany's tactic though. I've watched all their official season games so far and the goals they concede are mostly due to counters since the wingbacks are so high up when theyre in possession. It would be best if he instead used a 3-2-5 instead of the 2-4-4 to implement some stability as well as not forcing other teams to play low-block which has been proven effective against Bayern. Any good enough team like City, Madrid, or Liverpool will be efficient in exploiting this weakness. Kompany needs to learn that dominant stats do not win games but rather not conceding along with scoring. He also needs to bring down the defensive line by some margin. This high line (which he may have taken inspiration from Flick's sextuple winning season with Bayern) is not as effective due to the fact that the defensive abilities of his main center backs, Kim and Upa, are not as good as Boateng and Alaba. Lastly, Palhinha needs to be played more. Letting Kimmich play as an RB and having Palhinha and Pavlovic be the midfield duo will do them wonders this season. That Frankfurt game (which could have been an easy win) really exposed the weaknesses of the tactics and I'm really hoping Kompany will learn from his mistakes and make the required adjustments needed.
I think Bayern will improve in the coming games. Kompany's training sessions have a different vibe. Bayern playing well only makes mistakes in aggressive pressing & high line exposure. It was also a big concern at the time of Tuchel. Bayern will improve.
Burnley got relegated because the quality of the players are just bad for premier league. Now he got world class players and with his tactics, it's just worked
It's all fun and games until they face proper team lmao. They couldn't even win against Leverkusen, Aston Villa, and now Frankfurt too XD Good for "dominating" league though until he gets found out eventually.
he keeps starting pavlovic, whos a great player for the future, but hes just so similar to kimmich, we dont need two similar players, we need Palhinha and Kimmich combo.
Defensively this system is very frail They'd beat most lesser teams but I hardly see them winning big games They'll be punished for this aggressiveness
KOMPANY is not a better coach than Naglesman. He is just a learner or student coach. I doubt if he will even finish the season as Bayern Coach. Lets see how the season will unfold when they start meeting big teams by April 2025.
They sold their best full back De Ligt and kept Upa Maguire and Kim catastrophe. He is ignoring Tel who was a highly promising player. Now completely out of shape due to lack of match practice. Like Tuchel Kompany sticks to poor performers like Coman and Gnabry. They bought Palinha for 51 million as 6 and he is sitting on the bench most of the time. Kimmich is awful as a defensive midfielder and especially as a defensive 6. Still he occupies the spot and his corner kicks suck! There are multiple issues will will result in failure. Kompany will not win a single trophy! Mark my words!
Kompany Tactics is Great but it’s need good CB in back who has good pace and great in 1v1 Upamacano is not good enough for that They should go on and sign Ronald Araújo (Fc Barcelona Dávid Hancko ( Feyenoord)
High risk dominant soccer with questionable results against better, but still lower valued teams. Loss vs. Aston Villa. Despite dominance 0:1 vs Leverkusen and 1:2 vs Frankfurt during the game (draw as a final result). One Dreamgoal from Pavlovic less against Leverkusen and 1 better defense from Frankfurt and both games would have been lost too. Bayern Munichs game style works against lower ranked teams in the Bundesliga. In the Championsleague they won't come far with that game style. The top ranked teams will rip Bayern apart in. the CL. Just the imagination of countless counter attacks by City with Haaland or Real with Vinicius vs Upamecano and/or Kim is comedy gold.
When you are losing 0:1 against a lower valued team (Aston Villa) you are not really dominant. When you are behind in score 0:1 against a lower valued team (Leverkusen) you are not really dominant. When you are behind 1:2 against a lower valued team (Frankfurt) you are not really dominant. With true dominance, those teams wouldn't even come close to winning or leading against Bayern. Kompanys game style has severe weaknesses and they haven't played higher valued teams yet.
I mean, they just sold the game against Frankfurt. But now this short International break coming up, Kompany will have 2 weeks to re-assess, do a recap on the last 3 games and adjust on the tactics, and work on stopping the counter attacks. He will have now time to sort the things out, and i really hope he will do that, because Stuttgart and Barcelona coming up next, jeez. Not so simple and easy for Kompany now.

Kimmich is awful as a defensive midfielder and especially as a defensive 6. Still he occupies the spot and his corner kicks suck!
There are multiple issues will will result in failure. Kompany will not win a single trophy!
Mark my words!
Kompany Tactics is Great but it’s need good CB in back who has good pace and great in 1v1
Upamacano is not good enough for that
They should go on and sign Ronald Araújo (Fc Barcelona
Dávid Hancko ( Feyenoord)
Some players in the Bayern squad are trash
Similar tactics like Flick's Barcelona am saying it again. Barcelona vs Bayern is going to hit.
Exactly, he won the CL with these ultra-offensive tactics, but after that, managers were figuring it out.
@@davidosPOV Barca will have their key players back dani olmo, frenkie, gavi will be back so the match will be so interesting
He needs to play pauhlinha
I came here to comment but Kiolly said it.
The timing
😂 The new coach has not done. S*** they were playing like that under flick , He's not even playing some of the best players we have, facts
Until they meet Barca wild be fascinating
Barca will have their key players back dani olmo, frenkie, gavi will be back so the match will be so interesting
Pray for Bayern when they play Barca. You've seen it here first
When you are losing 0:1 against a lower valued team (Aston Villa) you are not really dominant.
Don’t know I feel like Bayern will struggle against bigger teams because of their defense
Who's gonna win barca or bayern in your opinion ?
Is it just me or is the defensive style a version of the same but worse than that of Flick's Barcelona?
And they lost to villa. Perfect timing.
If Aston Villa were smarter they could've actually humiliated Bayern. Imcredible how they got away with only a 1-0 loss that night.
Kompany has bad luck against Premier league teams
Do slot pls
Similar tactics like Flick's Barcelona WTF
Barca will have their key players back dani olmo, frenkie, gavi will be back so the match will be so interesting
exactly same as ETH?
I mean neuer threw todays game
I mean, they just sold the game against Frankfurt. But now this short International break coming up, Kompany will have 2 weeks to re-assess, do a recap on the last 3 games and adjust on the tactics, and work on stopping the counter attacks. He will have now time to sort the things out, and i really hope he will do that, because Stuttgart and Barcelona coming up next, jeez. Not so simple and easy for Kompany now.
HE SHOULD JUST START PALINHA!!!
Kompany is an admirer of Hansi Flick its obvious he copied Flick
Just after bayern draw
But wise man once said
Hey it's work 😂
