Misty - Erroll Garner

Day 252 of my daily video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023--posting a video of piano music every single day!
This is "Misty" written by Erroll Garner. This version is found in "Jazz Ballads - Jazz Piano Solos Series, Volume 10".
This is a really beautiful arrangement of Misty--it has some interesting fills, and chord choices compared to other versions that I've heard and played. I'm into a section of the book where I am more familiar with the choices so that makes the learning slightly easier.
I remember learning another arrangement of this piece when I was younger and I remember having a really hard time with the large stretches of chords. I think it seems to be a given that jazz players have to have a large reach to get some of these chords! I have worked on getting a larger stretch though and can reach a tenth if I go off the side of the piano! In most cases, it's much simpler to just roll the chord. If you do it quick enough, and land the top note with the right hand then it usually sounds ok.
