Lombard’s losing streak was 2-fold…the quality of his opponents and the lack of juice flowing through his veins.
Lombard's UFC run was sad. He went from "the guy to beat Anderson Silva" to lost to a fat Hendricks.

Gilbert Melendez’s was worse, went from arguably the best lightweight in the world to being destroyed 5 times in a row
BJ fought Machida at heavy weight too! Also beat Renzo Gracie at 185! Kids will never understand. He's a legend 🙌

@@rookiebear1124 That's if the unions get too much power, at which point they start to outlive their usefulness. But right now MMA fighters do need a union because they're not getting paid their worth, or being treated fairly.

BJ Penn was one of the first anti-wrestler fighters. He had a real prototypical set of skills and it set the stage for modern fighters that ended up beating him.

We just want him gone though, the fact he isn't despite one of the longest losing streaks in UFC history speaks as to his Dana White privilege.

That's the problem I've seen since watching MMA: people will use recency bias to remember a person's historic career more by their downfall than by their accomplishments. Take for instance Tony Ferguson. I absolutely believe he's STILL the boogeyman. He's STILL someone I would not want to piss off in public. He just happened to clash with people that were a few levels above his skill and ability, and he was put to the test and failed a few times. I think he can come back, and will forever remember his bloody warfare he enacted in his time with the UFC. I refuse to remember him for his brutal loss to JG and the current champ.
This is an example of MMA fans failing to see or accept when a fighter is out of his prime

I went to Sam Alvey’s gym in Murfreesboro Tennessee. He coached an MMA class and we sparred and rolled with each other. I’m not a fan but still interesting to spar with a ufc fighter at 15 ( he wen pretty easy on me ) as I want to be in the ufc and become a champion someday.
I absolutely love how you use Sonic Adventure music as your main background music. It was one of my favorites growing up.

BJ Penn had 100% takedown defence in his prime. He beat Diego Sanchez, Joe "Daddy" Stevens, Kenny Florian, Shawn Sherk unrecognisable, fought GSP twice at Georges' weight and fought former UFC LHW champ Lyoto Machida at heavyweight! Kids don't know.
I won’t give too much away, but I have a video planned for later this year which will be much more complimentary to BJ.
