Kerala Sampark Kranti Entering the Biggest Railway Station in Kerala - Shoranur Junction

Train No.12217 Kochuveli - Chandigarh Kerala Sampark Kranti Express Leaving the Trivandrum Railway Division and Entering Palakkad Railway division and then Crossing Shoranur Railway Bridge over Bharathapuzha river and finally entering the biggest railway junction in Kerala - Shoranur Junction
Shoranur Junction is the biggest and busiest station in Kerala which has 7 platforms. There are tracks towards Ernamkulam, Palakkad, Calicut & Nilambur Road merging here. Several passenger trains and one express train (Shoranur - Trivandrum Venad Express) originates from here.
It is also the boundary between Palakkad and Trivandrum Railway Division.

At 1:59 where you say "Line branching towards Palakkad" - that line is actually the Shoranur bypass line, right? The track using which most of the trains coming from Madras, Katpadi will skip Shoranur. Am I correct? Thank you. It is a good video--- I just wish you had captured the platform 6 of Shoranur rather than the CBE-MAQ passenger :-)

Yes..most trains to palakad skips shoranur while few goes to shoranur and gets a loco reversal

Now it's not biggest junction after constructing Shoranur bypass lines towards palakkad. Thrissur has become biggest junction and the bussiest where trains towards south kerala , north kerala arrive in Thrissur, where most of the trains going through palakkad side to other states won't touch Shoranur now
