What's your favorite feature of the new G6 line? The slide plate - would you try the slide plate? Stiffness profiles? maybe it's the new 580-like 6.1 glove? Let us know!
Stiffness profiles and I'm curious to see what their stiffest model will be like. Love seeing warrior continue to listen to goalie feedback and solve problems from prior years past and consider beer leaguers like me when designing pads and not just the pros. Also, may need to get these just to match my pete smith tattoo =)
I've thought of a slide plate to be a great idea for years. The stiff thigh rise balanced with a "softer" boot seem desirable. I wore a set of Rituals five years ago and liked them until they got too flimsy, the strapping was new at the time and very comfortable. The catcher was great, loved the wide pocket but never did love the break.....I'm currently in ccm 590 pro and love it. I'd really like to test a set out for fit and feel and see what kind of rebounds are produced.
Really love what Warrior improved on the G6 line but I've heard that they temporarily stopped producing goalie gear. I personally had a real hard time finding Warrior goalie gear in stores in my area. Do you guys have any update on Warrior Goalie ?
Hey Cam and Woody... Love the new gear vids! How about do a synthetic ice demo next time? Not sure if the THS has one in their store but that would be so cool so we can see how they react to movements and puck shots. Also, looking forward to the 2022 Bauer Mach set whenever you get those in.
Thanks for the video guys! I'm wondering weather the slide plate could be used on a gym floor surface to allow for sliding when playing ball hockey...would appreciate your response...thx!
Hmmmmm.....married to an athletic director here and would never vouch for something sliding on a gym floor!!! ;) we'd assume they do but have not tested - and what about the boot and inner edge of the pad - will those slide in the gym? Sorry - no ball hockey experience here but maybe it's time we jumped in!
Warrior....pay the man. I have been looking forward to this line drop since it was first teased but last summer. I would LOVE to see a full IN GOAL review on these. All over IG and TT you see a lot of paid endorsements, I want to know more...Why should I throw X number of dollars at upgrading my current set. Need a Hutch and Woody review. Great video.
So if I did a custom option with a 90 degree break in a 6.1 glove, do you think that would make it feel even more like a 580? Also I have heard that the liners don't actually do a whole lot for the actual break of the glove, wanted to see if you guys having any better insights on that
Did they fix the quality control? My g5s I had to send back because they had bubbles in the face of the pad, like a 5 year old stitched them together. The second set wasn't a whole lot better. I was super pissed that a custom pad came so half ass. They play well but definitely could have been manufactured better.
Hmmm hard for us to comment because we (InGoal Magazine) have not tested either pad - listen to this week's podcast (Episode 167) for more details why our relationship with Warrior isn't what it once was. That said, so sorry you had that experience!
@@InGoalMedia right on. I understand your point of view. However I know I'm not the only one who had the same issues with craftsmanship. Frustrating because I am a warrior guy who moved from Brian's. Like I said they play really well. Super fast. They just could of put in the proper effort to make sure the pad face was tight, instead of bubbly and loose.
Same here, the G5 pads had bubbles here and there. And the knee block lasted less then a year and is all worn down to almost holes in the knee block because it was bubbles and the friction was to much on these points. Poor quality compared to the CCM eflex 3 who lasts forever and team after team kids can use them.
Do the same features of the G6 senior gear go down into the youth/junior versions. Would love to see reviews and insights into more of that size gear as that is what my son wears.
We'll have a video with details when they become available. Cam says they are expected in mid-May but as we all know, shipping has been a real problem for everyone of late - so stay tuned and check the web site, please.
Will the removable palms work in the G4 glove and blockers also? I can't find anymore of them for purchase and want to grab a few backups to make my gear last as long as possible. Also might be interested in those plastic slide plates too 🤔 Great review!
from Cam: "should work - check our web site - barring shipping issues, should be live on the 15th, but you know how shipping has been everywhere of late...."
@@InGoalMedia I need Ingoal to pick my pads, just have them show up to my door in 6-15 weeks, no idea which brand and give you guys design control with the colours but with my specs...now that'd make a great video!
Can check in with Shop directly (Cam is a Warrior specialist) but we've been told the 6.1 is closer to the GT Pro Glove you prefer ... there are still differences but the 6.0 will feel exactly like a G5 … should also know that inventory in the entire G6 line has been slow to arrive even now, almost 6 months since this review
In the market for a new "catcher glove." I've been using CCM for a while, both Premier and EFlex as my last two gloves (single-T.) I can't catch a puck to save my life, pucks just hit the glove and bounce out. ( it's the glove not the goalie 😀) The last glove I actually liked, that I could also catch with was my 1999 Heaton Helite IV Kolizg series glove, what is the nearest glove to that?
Catcher Glove...we see what you did there ;) Guess you can't pick sides in the guys' argument! And yea...when we can't catch it's definitely the glove! Hmmmm comparing a 2022 glove to a 1999 glove...feels a bit like asking which car today is the most like a 1999 Audi A6 - things have changed a lot in 23 years, no? We'll put our thinking caps on and we'll ask Cam who will probably say... "You should come in and try everything on to see what you think...."
I am still playing a G2 pro glove that needs to be updated this summer. Should I go 6.0 or is the evolution so big that it will be a big adjustment regardless if I take 6.0 or 6.1?
Thanks for the vid. Was a warriorfan but when changing pads and gloves next time we stop using warrior because it is very difficult to buy, especially intermediate sizes, in europe. And it is irritating af when W promoting the slide plates but they are not available. It is just a time thief. And there is way to much stuff on the warrior pads and gloves. We start with cutting all the unnecessary buckets, shields, rings, etc away when buying new pads.
Well there is a story behind the availability that we may get to on one of our shows...and they are hoping it has improved. Thanks for sharing - being in North America it's great for us to hear your experience in Europe especially!
Innovation seems to find its way into different brands for sure. I doubt others will rush to this but the after-market world, as mentioned on our podcast, we could see picking this up for sure.

thanks for the great content ! when will it be available to be bought right of the shelf without customizations ?
WE'll check with Cam in the morning - or feel free to give him a call, of course 1-800-567-7790
I can’t call I’m from the other side of the world :D hope you update us this morning guys

I hope. My G4 stopped sliding overnight awhile ago. Been using 3M tape and all the creams and sprays to help the slide I need this plastic knee haha
