When someone says "clean up this mess" you keep cleaning until the mess is gone, not until they turn around. I assume that there is a bit that is cut for the short because I doubt he'd say "clean up this mess" without teaching him how to spray it down.

Asking a CEO of a company to do the entry level jobs it's like asking your basketball center to be a point guard.

I've pipe welded, diesel mechaniced, run heavy equipment, and crews in the oilfield. Upon hiring on at a drilling company the "office manager"(with a forestry degree) asked if I'd be interested in being a project manager. He outlined the scope of work and I told him what I'd do it for. He hired a guy 3 weeks later.
I got out when my "project manager" didn't show up to a job one day because he'd completely filled his service body powerstroke with gasoline.
Ineptitude and nepotism really seem to rule the world

Can't stress enough the importance of understanding and compassion when teaching. Someone not knowing something makes that person ignorant, not stupid or worthy of cynical treatment. The trainer and company have a responsibility to train their employees to meet their standards, not to demean...
