What a gracious service you have performed using your awesome education to helps us appreciate KCD even more. Far from spoilers the context adds so much. Thank you Professor.
If only Kuttenberg was in Kentucky, I would be at restaurant Ruthard getting a steak. Thank you Martin may you grow your channel so that you also could buy a local village and begin making money with wheat, rabbits and fish!
Thanks! Just right now I was checking the real estate market. But not for villages, only for a slightly bigger flat where we can fit with our growing kid :D
@@Kuttenberger_Martin May I ask a bit out of Kuttenbrug? I'm curious about KCD 3-if it takes place in Prague, are there any other significant events that might occur there, such as those involving the Pišek and Ruthard families, or perhaps any major wars?
@lilakliliaz in 1403 nothing interesting happend in Prague. Year earlier Prague (almost) immediately joined Sigismud. King Wenceslas was captured there. But since then it was quiet. More interesting stuff than happened during Hussite wars, two decades later. First Prague defenestration 1419 (not last - they love to throw people out of windows there :D ). And battle of Vítkov hill 1420. So Prague would make more sense in that period. :)
This is a great question but I am afraid my answer will disappoint you by its ambiguity. First I have to say I have not studied in too much depth the municipal politics, I have already some reading material for that, but it's quite complicated. So what I write might not be 100% accurate. There was a town council (in 1403 probably 18 members) which changed quite often in today's point of view (maybe every year, maybe two). Something like "mayor" was there, but I would call it more like a "chairman" or "spokesman" - this person held the town seal, but he changed every month (!), so he was more like "first between equals". It seems there was a strong effort to keep town council as "collective" institution and not let it "usurp" by one strong personality. Fun about politics is, that it's a house of cards. It's taking power until someone stops you. There is tension, trying the borders... So for example a strong mintmaster could take more power over a week town council. There was no written "constitution" or something that would fix power of each institution/position. So this dynamic between especially mintmaster and town council (as most important players in Kuttenberg) changed over time. And that's the reason, why I can't really talk about the municipal politics in 1403 without further studying - it's too dynamic... I hope it answers at least a bit what you asked :)
Thanks for your video! One tend to forget that sometimes burgers can wield more power than nobles. I'm curious about your job. What does a building surveyor do?
Thanks for your support. I have my company for surveying buildings, most work do I, but I have a couple of occasional workers at hand. We do full 3D laser scanning of buildings for simple point clouds, drone and surface photography for mesh models, and of course drawings of florplans/cross sections/views... For clients all around central Europe (just next week I'm driving to Germany). I will hopefully show some 3D models of some buildings we did in Kutná Hora after the game is released. I have to ask the owners if they are OK with that. :)
That is just town Kuttenberg - a small fraction of the whole "second" map where there will be a whole area between Kuttenberg, Suchdol, Malešov (locations I have talked about) and some unspecified chunk of a land on the north :)
Thanks again Martin for your great video! I really enjoy watching your insightful videos about KCD I+II and Kutná Hora.
I am glad you like it!
That Goodwin theory make the most sense. His lifestyle isn't from a normal household. He acts like Hans, but lay low at Uzhitz.

Martin! Our Hero Martin!
Super video, v některých věcech si celkem blízko 😀
Díky! Tak to jsem ještě zvědavější :)
Komu tím pomůžete? Radši zvedni prdel a udělej svý video. Mě se propagace české historie líbí, líbí a taky v diskuzích trolit hnidopichy.

My cats love your content!
That´s great! I hope in some DLC we will be able to pet cats also in KCD2 :)
Nice intro 😁👍
Thanks! :D
Koukám že si někdo pořídil tu super mapu Kutné Hory. Taky už visí u mě v pokoji
Je skvělá! Udělal jsem si z ní asi 50 fotek různých celků a detailů a právě tu teď používám ve svých videích :)
Díky!
Hope people would watch more of you when the game comes out
I hope so too. :)
Kudos from WHS to Dear Mr. Martin ♥

You really help to embark on KDC2 with background knowledge, I really appreciate it! Was there a mayor figure of Kutná Hora? Greetings from Durynska
