I live in China and got it for $9 on taobao. I use it in my grade 6 last friday class to let the kids unwind on the big screen computer. It's really great for them.
You got the old version. The one that works great and it's really worth the money is the Gamestick X2 plus GD10. The box is basically the same but instead of green lines it has red ones. It has a better processor and it's priced around 20-30€ here in Europe. Try that one and bin the one with the green box.
The recent one that I have reviewed was a solid gamestick, very very cheap but only plays Snes games. But they play really well. The one you mentioned, I checked it out a couple of days back. I’ll look into it.

The latency issue with the controllers along with poor emulation defeats the experience. And these lacklustre products are advertised by a lot of 3rd parties for over $30,50 or even more. Got this similar pack the other day for 5 euros. But for a life of me I can't figure it out how to enable the gamepads. I turn it on (it uses USB cable to power it on, then the main menu boots up right away but none of the controllers seem to link up even tho the lights do turn on. I plan on reselling this and if it sells I will buy more due to a cheap source, but this gamepad issue is bugging me. I read somewhere that these gamepads work on PC too but what some other person told me I find it hard to believe since these are made for different devices not PC. But one day I will have to try with few softwares that might enable them and emulators too, to see if it's true or not ... If they work on PC emulation then I might just sell these gamepads separately and move on from trying to figure them out on the "4K stick" why they don't link up ...

To be honest I don’t know. Since there is an adapter then maybe you can get similar controllers which uses bluetooth adapters to work. I literally threw mine away after I was done testing it & finishing up the review.
The problem is your device is attached on the back of the TV. There is a lot of interference that way. If you want the best results consider using a male female hdmi cable and expose the device to look directly into the controller

Think about it. The HDMI ports on PC's are outputs not inputs. Perhaps you can do it indirectly through a video capture device. But that would be a far too complex setup for a plug and play device like this one.
I'm happy with mine there are those few games that lag but it's good to use if you passing time or have family over for entertainment. Games like Shinobi, Bad Dude vs Dragon Ninja, Shadow Dancer, Michael Jackson on MAME and every SNES Game on it SUCKS.

This is useless, they won’t give you all of your money back if you try to refund it, also, the sonic games I wanna play are laggy even though they run just fine for the flipping original hardware I play it ON! The fact that most games are just romhacks and not the real deal is even more scummy. Also, where’s the variety? Where’s N64? Dreamcast? DS? More GBA Games would be nice.
My friend at least provide an alternative. For me giving 30 euros for all these all games plus ps1 games with just plug and play on my pc sounds fair price. And please don't suggest retropie or anything I can't be arsed to mod or configure or basically do anything other than at least putting my own ROMS and play them

Driver sound weird coz he talk in 20fps. old cheap tec in gamestick dont support ps1. Probly best try is to trash all the roms and add new and hope they work. If you still want to play ps1 you should try the early games made to the system.

My biggest issue was the controller its shit. Jams on right direction all the time. Only paid 13 pound but pointless good arcade emulation when its impossible to do moves on fighting games. Sega runs ok.

The zooming is because these games were designed for the 4:3 TV/ screen aspect. The emulators have to zoom in to fill in the new widescreen TVs fully.
I’ve used other devices on my tv, they weren’t this bad. The settings for this stick was horribly done.
