I cannot believe that a composer of Victor Young's caliber only received one Oscar for his soundtracks - and posthumously at that! Surely one of the great injustices in the movie industry!
THE VICTOR YOUNG, did a MAGNIFICENT MUSIC SCORING JOB ON that great western ****SHANE 1953**** and that sentimental western. THE TALL MEN 1955. Only a few GREAT MUSIC SCORE'S are around during these times. He did a excellent job on this one also .....JOHNNY GUITAR. Boy I miss those real WESTERN'S OF THE 1940'S and 1950'S, 60'S TILL EARLY 1970'S.
