After forever, the band that deserved a concert high quality DVD with an orchestra. Theres almost just fan footage on internet 😓

I discovered this performance in 2023. But…..what a jewel. A young Floor so good here. What a treasure.
Me in 2024 - really a jewel! There should have been a recording of the whole concert (if it was one). And Floor's proud parents in the crowd made an extra. They really must be proud to have two such highly talented daughters (Floor's younger sister Irene decided to prefer family life but sometimes joins for example Arjen Lucassen's Ayreon).

Oh to be 15 again... these songs marked my youth and some of the best yet most darkest days. My Choice was one of those songs I used to listen in those bad days and I still reach out to it when I feel down.
she has evolved so much! Her technique is much more developed now. But still, she was already great back in the days. :D

OK, maybe. I think of the AF album Invisible Circles, which Floor wrote. It's a concept album about a little girl raised by horrible, selfish and abusive parents. I wonder where the inspiration came from
Basically fell in love with Floor upon watching her perform with After Forever and then ReVamp. And then she of course became the legend that we know. Thanks for this upload.

I love how it sounds as she gets winded a little bit but never fails to hit the notes and makes necessary adjustments to pull it off. Phenomenal!
How I miss After Forever. I love Floor's voice! Of course now I listen to her in Nightwish, but I would prefer her in After Forever

The band sounded amazing, Floor sounded ( And looked 😍 ) amazing, what a performance, she really knows how to play for the camera, and Floor's parents in the audience looking so proud of their daughter.
Shame it cuts out part way through Monolith Of Doubt.
Saw them in Montpellier south of france in 2005..great memories ..floor went in the audience to see playin Nightmare a french band before them for a few minutes and after the show of her band to dedicate and to talk on the merchandising place .i still have my ticket with her autograph :)...really a beautiful and good person..she is so fantastic with nightwish

Floor is simply the best female singer of all time. And I don't say as it as a Nightwish fan. Although I like Nightwish and find the old songs with her much better, I prefer and love After Forever and ReVamp. Sadly the album Nightwish released with her was incredibly boring, but the live performance at Wacken 2013 is one of the best ever.
I think a lot of people would find this blasphemous to say, but I've always enjoyed After Forever much more than Nightwish. I also enjoy Floor Jansen's voice much more than Tarja. Tarja and Nightwish are clearly very talented and have both respectively made incredible music over the years. However, there was something about After Forever's music that I found a lot more mature and versatile; versatile is a word I would use to sum up Floor's voice as well. I absolutely agree with you that Endless Forms Most Beautiful was nowhere near as powerful as it potentially could've been. It felt as if they played it way too safe with Floor's voice and focused too much on making her sound "pretty" than really letting loose like she clearly has the potential to do.
AnUnhingedMind it's not blasphemous at all. After Forever had its own fanbase since their first album, which they released the around the same time Nightwish released their debut.
Both bands always shared significant part of their fans, although they were - in my opinion - different, mostly because they are/were different bands.
Ever since I heard Follow in the Cry many years ago, they have been one of my favorite bands. After they broke up, most fans were happy with new Epica albums, the closest thing to After Forever for obvious reasons.
And like you said, Floor is the best. Since the first After Forever album, and she only progressed to the best - in my opinion - female vocalist ever. She's much better than Tarja and Simone Simons (I like both too), and that's one of the reasons I found her album with Nightwish boring.
The songs in that album are good, and would've been better with Floor being Floor. We as After Forever fans already knew what she could do, I think that's why most of us don't give a damn about Endless Forms.

Vinícius Ferrenberg I prefer After forever too, because Tuomas can’t make songs for Floor voice, listen her singing AF she’s amazing! She goes high and beautiful low ❤️

The internet arrived just in time for symphonic rock. Within Tempation and After Forever were completely ignored on meanstream media: it was too far out of the box for them.( It must have taken a lot of guts to stay true to this quirky style.) Rock bands were the first to embrace youtube completely, and also rock magazines and interviews started as soon as everyone had some kind of internet connection. And this music was always lend out in the music library: there was a waitinglist. and people making copies because we didnt have money to buy it so 1 person would copy and that person had many more friend all of a suddon. If you were a guy and you wanted a date you would give her a copy of a 'girl metal' cd of symphonic metal. / I have never seen a band so full of the kind of talent that could so easily been turned into something commercial - and they just didnt. They could easily just record an easy listening song with 4x4 verse and hook chorus: but no they had to not follow any mold and make as many unlogical twists and tune changes as possible and have lyrics about morals and so. (But the thing was: after you had heard monolyth of doubt you couldnt go back to normal music anymore. I didnt like the unnessesary complexity, but it did produce the best songs and you got used to it. Its an acquired taste. Instead of punk (oversimplified songs ) this was overly complexified made so that you could never just repeat it after hearing it a few time : it was a kind of punk i guess into the other side of the spectrum: against mainstream.
I'm on my husband's account and I'm a 55 year old woman. I've been listening to symphonic rock/metal opera since 2005 and have never understood why it's not more popular especially in the United States. None of my friends or family like it. I think it's absolutely perfect music and singing besides some songs having guys 'growling;' I can't stand that; they sound like Satan. Lol. This genre didn't have to grow on me in the least; I loved it from the very first time I heard it and that band happened to be Nightwish. Which of course Floor is now the lead singer of. I loved how she sang more operatic in her previous bands and so wish she would do that more in NW. I think Floor has the most beautiful voice ever of anyone, hands down.
I've always loved orchestras, rock, metal, and opera so when it's all combined I'm in absolute heaven! I've discovered so many of these bands and buy new CDs which I know is old-fashioned but I love listening to music that way and I want to support the bands financially. Yes, thank goodness for the Internet or I may have never heard this genre before. Even though it's been in my head most of my life!

Ahh..those Abba eyes...very 70's. Floor sounds amazing here....NW should really make use of that wonderful, flexible, not to mention powerful voice even more than they do currently...

I never understood why these bands don't play in their native language. This concert is obviously in Europe.
Metal is a niche community, but it is global. Many metal bands make more success outside their country than within. Making music in english is the standard for metal, with a few notable exceptions. The reason is obvious, you dont want to reach just the little metal audience in your country, you want to reach the entire global metal community.
For instance After Forever wasn't very well known in the netherlands, where metal is not at all popular. They had however quite decent audience in Latin America. They also had some audience in Nordic countries, where the genre of Symphonic Metal is reasonably popular.

@SteveNL ...Tarja used a very low, mezzo register until roughly 2003, at which time she assumed a higher timbre..yet when called for such as on kinslayer, end of all hope, 10th man down, pharaoh sails to orion, wishmaster, deep silent complete, sleeping sun etc...she came through beatifully...in 2005, GLS in Tarja era was calculated by Tuomas to be a softer, blending higher register delivery..check out Tarja in Kinslayer, wishmaster, planet hell, slaying the dreamer for much more punding delivery...Floor was a beast in AF and REvamp and to great extent in wacken 2013, but then she just became mainstream on most Tarja songs..and can you honestly tell me that on the last two albums her voice is even close to metallic?
