For the fuel tank, I suggest going for a cotton-type filter which is mounted inside the inlet & outlet side of the tank. this will avoid the fuel pump problem.

Rangili looks better, I never thought that I would like any GS other than 1250 but guess its a serious contender for a pretty decent tourer. Usually the valve clearance is recommended at 25 to 30K mileage along with spark plugs replacements, I hope BMW Motard guys have done that and one more thing the levers looked like after market replacements and a bit short. In my experience the longer ones that come with the bike are more comfortable on longer voyages as your hands wont get tired that quickly when using them. I saw metal pannier box in the end of video, guess you're all set for another great adventure, ride safe.
