Oh my god I cannot believe that we have now pulled off SIX of these Christmas MAPs, all on time as well?! Must be the magic of Christmas! (and the magic of the incredible team behind it, as well as a little bit of caffeine driven last minute editing on my part lmao)
I could not be prouder of the team that brought this project to life - each and every animator worked so insanely hard to bring something of this quality to you guys, and everyone who originally signed up actually finished their parts with only one person backing up a part of a part which is INSANE as MAPs go, and all the more reason for me to be so proud of them. Everyone was so pleasant and so very dedicated in the server, and it was an honour to work with them all, I hope they come back next year!! (as I’m sure there will be another one of these lol)
I’ve always hankered after doing a MAP like this where the aim was to have something really flowy and smooth, with emphasis on the transitions and on the general atmosphere and holy COW does it massively achieve that! Communication was just fantastic in the team and everyone was able to sort out some incredible transitions, above and beyond what I ever expected!

Edit (13/02/2023): The animator of part 22 has had some serious allegations made about their involvement with a minor while they were of adult age - I will not discuss this further, but I would advise that you do not interact with them. I have elcted to leave their part and this MAP up as I owe it to the other participants of this project to keep it looking clean and watchable. It would be wildly unfair that their hard work go down for the sake of someone else's foul actions).

Because a lot of you are commenting on the dubbed line:
1. It was dubbed over because the original line “what’s in this drink” didn’t fit at all with the scene, and I couldn’t find a good way to make it fit, whereas “was that a wink” fits perfectly into the scene.
2. The song is a product of the times. Obviously I don’t think that songs should be banned or whatever and this is a beautiful song with no ill intentions behind it (the original song writers were actually husband and wife so obviously there was no harm ever meant with the song), but you have to admit that some lines haven’t aged well, including the drink line. I understand it refers to the alcoholic content of the beverage and not it being a roofie of course, but it still can be seen in a dodgy way, and what harm does it do to alter it?
3. I didn’t have access to an appropriate instrumental backing track so I couldn’t dub it very well. I tried my best to get it to fit in with the original, but clearly I haven't done a good job as it's been noticeable to a lot of you. Genuinely I tried my best to get it to blend in, but given the limited tools at my disposal I honestly couldn't have made it much better (I also didn't think people were going to make such a big deal over it either so... there you go I suppose)
Instead of focusing on one tiny part of the audio, I would really appreciate it if you focused instead on the incredibly hard work and skill that the animators have all demonstrated - it's a shame that a piddly little bit of audio is getting the attention above them after all! Hope you enjoyed the rest of the MAP though :')
I also will point out that my original comment defending the audio was pretty salty - I’d received about 6 comments back to back just regarding the audio, and I should have cooled off before making said comment. I hold my hands up and say I didn’t handle that in either a very mature or professional way and I should know better. However, the points still stand, just in a slightly less confrontational manner :’) so apologies for the original tone of my reply.
@@fluffylovey AH. I see. I just usually edit out parts (I have a high pitched voice so I ain't able to dub over.) Your voice at least sounded close to the original. I actually had to look myself to see if you had dubbed it, heheh. I just thought my computer glitched but other than that it was hardly notable. Great job!
My main concern wasn't the dubbing or lyrics. I was just trying to figure out what cats these were. 😊

I love when Silverstream was nuzzling on Graystripe when she said "Maybe just a half a drink more".It was so adorable. Poor Crowfeather when he said "How can you do these things to me?". You can just tell he was hurting when Leafpool was walking away.

It's an honor watching all the returning animators grow through the years and see new talent accepted every year. Truly beautiful script and staging . I forsee more viewings in the future.

This map made me realize just how many cross clan relationships were in the first series... like Graystripe and Silverstream may have been the focus but Bluestar and Oakheart were a major part of the events of the books even if it was a former relationship and then there is Yellowfang and her parental relationship with Brokenstar and Bramblepaw (he was a paw back then) and his relationship with both his father and sister who left Thunderclan to go to Shadowclan

These cats are forced to live under rules that force them to only love those who they’ve grown up with-

I feel like this is a very fitting song honestly xD like this entire song is based on how it used to be very dishonourable and shameful for a woman to stay over at a mans and how in the song she does want to stay but knows that doing so will most likely lose much respect for her so the guy is trying to offer suggestions to dodge that outcome and make it less hard on her reputation so they can get a little funky. So the fact this is put into half clan relationships to where they truly love each other but one of the partners is like, "yeah but it's half clan I will lose all respect and honour" so the other is all like, "That's true but if we come up with a suitable lie no one will know and you'll be alright" and I think it's rather cute and nice.
I love how so many videos portray blue star with a low voice, the soothing high pitch is honestly beautiful and a nice perspective

Has anyone noticed that every half clan relationship starts with thunderclan and ends with thunderclan. Greystripe liked silverstream. Then she died but i think he dies later. Bluestar liked oakheart and ended it when she brought him the kits. And with leafpool and crowfeather leafpool said she wanted to go home. But the most important this is that all we know is that thunderclan has had the most halfclan relationships ever and the other clans didnt. Also i forgot heathertail and lionblaze.

I remember when this was released last year when I was doing a bunch of college apps in Christmas time. I was so peaceful listening to this song (i put the MAP in another tab and listened over and over). Sometimes I stopped and watched it and felt so peaceful for some reason. This MAP is the reason I didn't have anxiety attacks when applying to college last year. Now I am applying to college again because I had to defer (covid ;-;) and can't help but do that again. Thank you for your hard work everyone

This is now one of my all time favorites maps!!
The characters in every animation were smooth moving and well lip-synced, there was a consistency with design and backgrounds wich made transitions absolutely gorgeous, and even the colours and scenery behind the cats are beautiful and detailed.
In the small amount of time of the video you guys were able to create distinctive characters and storyline’s, (that might I say fit perfectly with their characters) and for all of this and more here’s some cookies for the producer or organisers work to round up all the animations, the character artists skill to create the designs we see and the hours apon hours each animater put in, along with anyone lose involved to create such a big project.
