In the videos of the L2 out in the mud you keep referring to the Gleaners weigh so much less is why they can navigate the mud so much better. When I sold Gleaners I never thought they were any lighter then the competitive machines equipped the same so I had to look through my old sales literature and books.
An L2 base weight for corn and soybeans was 16,297# but by base weight that didn't include tire size (23.1-34), a hydro transmission, the big engine ,straw chopper, 4 wheel drive , etc. . So your L2 sitting there is probably real close to 18,000#+
    as equipped.
The John Deere 6620 shipping weight 16,135. Only one engine option and hydro transmission. 23.1-26 tires.
The 7720 same with engine option and transmission with 24.5-32 tires was 17,800#,
CaseIH1660 has no published weights in any literature or even my price book, so my guess is it was lighter then the John Deere, hence the reason they didn't publish it. On the interwebs Richie bros shows a shipping weight of 18,225.
So just using what I can find in literature, and online without actually weighing the machines on a scale you can see the Gleaner is almost pound for pound with the competitive machines of that time.
The Gleaners navigate mud because of the centerline design, the machine was balanced for maximum effect in mud and hillsides.
Allis Chalmers was 20 years ahead of anyone at any given time, and you will notice almost every combine made today, uses the Gleaner layout to achieve balance

Found a bunch of NOS belts in the shop today. I'm almost sure they were for my Father in Laws L2. Still in the boxes. There's 15 to 20 of them, Mother in Law told me to see what someone would pay for the whole lot. Let me know and will get you all the belt numbers.

Both of those L2s move along pretty well across the field there. Pretty impressive watching the track Gleaner L2 just roll over the damp conditions of the field. Hope that was just a locked up brake caliper on the combine & nothing major. Thanks for the ride alongs. Keep up the good work there.

I tried posting on your last video but for whatever reason the comment kept disappearing.
You mentioned you’d like a little help learning editing and choosing a new computer. I have a lot of self taught experience editing our farm videos and I’ll be glad to assist you any way I can. Check out our channel to see our editing style.
I’ve also done a lot of research into building fast computers for editing as we do all of our videos in 4K that take a lot of processing power. Again I’ll be happy to help any way I can. Just reply back if you’re interested and I’ll leave my email.
On the tracked Gleaner, is the back axle set too low with the tracks on it? Looks like the rear end is lower than the front and would let grain out the back a lot easier.

It sounds like that L2 Gleaner engine is right at the top of its ability to keep up with steel tracks on. If it wears more in this direction it makes me think the engine will have more power with the tracks turned around.

I dont have a channel but I watch quite a bit. I prefer a good mix of voice over and talking during filming. Keeps it interesting. Good job on the shelling, its very rewarding to watch.

Excellent video Brandon :) also glad got corn all pick now done and sorry hear also see fire had also hope didn't ruin to much combine also be easy fix up too! Hope see on next videos what happened on fire damage and pop drink got fire out completely too! My dad had fire on 1968 McCormick International 105C few times one smell thru Air Conditioning doing grain what happened first was water pump seize also belt on crankshaft plus hydraulic pump together a line got hit squirt out fluid ! So got that all fix found the GM Delco Alternator and outer Regulartor recharge battery on amps plus electrical need replacement and plus electrical fuel pump short out plus rad hose even thermostat also sensor ! Was costly fix but got up running in few days on gas motor and electrical parts too ! Then one day head home from rent farm to home farm he was piss off raining and Power Steering line in below cab went so he had Armstrong Steering only plus bearing seized up for yield box to Auger shute to with ! Lucky was 3 days of Rain so work in machinery shop with him fix ! Then when all done check plus Air Conditioning motor quit after checking up on big screaming then shut down blew fuse too! Thank goodness for Old 1968 International 1300 1 ton pick.up truck in yard plus old 1976 Chevrolet Impala LS 4 door car to were parts mobile ! There heater blower fan motor were same combine was and hook up on power leads to also bolts up Lol ! Only was fan grill had change over to old from parts ones and rewired up to who did rewired was me and fan had 3 position pull down knob switch with so up to box was off , next in middle was low and 3 all way out was fast ! In 8 hours rewired plus assembly and fuse changes back in action too work! My dad always got me do electrical because had more experience with to it!

I think if you put tracks on the rear too the engine might be down on power. I did notice you had another set of tracks but it might be better to put a lighter weight rubber track on the rear as the reason you sunk in the mud was the drag from the rear. But think about four wheel drive how much better it gets around compared to two wheel drive.
