      We could begin by defining, absolutely, the meaning of "Left" and "Right" - and don't assume that I am just an ignoramus for saying this. The terms left and right as reference to political spheres are very generalized. Perhaps we should drop these terms absolutely.

    this was easily one of the most informative + inspiring things I've ever seen, I've just finished watching it for the 2nd time, and I'm really excited to now get the book, Yanis' references to the late 1700s are a terribly relevant example from recent-ish history, so powerful to think we may be on the brink of undoing the current cloud-shackles -
    I'm really grateful to be able to have access to the thoughts of incredible thinkers around history/economics/revolutionary ideas like this, it's really exciting to think we're potentially only one small revolution away from a far more equitable social situation, given how "globalised" the world asserts to being... it really sounds possible that enough people can agree around the world.. that we don't want to be cloud serfs, maybe more that we want to have a share of the profits being sourced from technological growth.
    no longer should the risks be socialised with profits privatised, the more people that learn this key human right the better I think. thank you yanis, pls i rly hope that people see the sense in this information..

      i don' t get the argument with risk is being socialized and profits privatized. i founded a company a few years ago. i gave up my very best years in life. i had 0 support, still enlisted at university therefore struggling from double financial pressure. i carried 100% risk, guess who takes 1/3 of the wealth i produce right now??

    Just 7 minutes in and the moderator is - through his questions- placing his own opinions into the debate. It’s clear who he agrees with, and who he disagrees with. For example in his interview with Fiona Hill, he clearly says multiple times, “ right, right, correct “. If we are going to rise above left versus right, please get a moderator who asks hard questions to everyone and keeps his own opinions to himself.

    Regarding the last debate there. I think it is important point to bring out that we should ask ourselves why we have a 8 hour limit of work per day, and why we do not allow children to work (but if you watch something like Peaky Blinders, you'll see child laborers). This is very personal as it you live it every day. Do you think that the business owners decided such 8 hours limit? I think one must know sooner or later. Some of us are fine being ignorant about it, maybe you are not in a good surplus situation to even give attention to it - and that is fine. But I believe sooner or later, you will want to at least have an idea as to why.

      It seems you haven’t looked at your own statement. 🤔 Russia has been in the power projection and empire building business since Peter the Great in the 1700’s. Look at how much territory they’ve acquired, it’s mind boggling really. And they’ve been continuously fighting to preserve or expand their grip on territory throughout the 1800’s, as exemplified through the Crimean War. I think that war was a big turning point people miss, as they lost control of Crimea then. They’re on a never ending quest for power and dominance and until the world acknowledges that and figures out how to deal with it, they’ll just keep warring wherever possible.

    non-verbal communication reveals much here. I've easily observed sneers to ideas that don't align with the listeners views. This says much more about the sneer-er than it does the speaker. It suggests they are profoundly identified with their views - their "right-ness". What if you opened your heart a little to receive a difference of opinion. Until people can' overcome their own inner-Gestalt around their ego being challenged...on both sides of the political spectrum - until there's a bit of humility arrived at here in relation to what they think they know...welll, good luck with all that, I guess. Thanks for this notion, appreciate the channel.

    • @namuh_a
      @namuh_a 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. I currently believe pride or lack of humility is the root cause of all our 'problems'. If we all had utmost humility, our minds would be open enough to actually listen to each other and more rapidly inter-think, to co-develop solutions that exist latently within all our minds. Dogma is destroying us. But I think we can overcome this if we integrate our minds (augmented intelligence), where we could e.g. mediate communication via an AI interface to translate between worldviews, and extract the pure thought substance necessary to mould into solutions.

    High standard debate, very persuasive too.
    Man and institution are a given, both need to grow in order to live better than before, albiet a few times it can mean great restraint too. Fair and ethical capitalists suggest reform has been sufficient to address crises, we are in best shape ever in human history. The left, radical and non radical, see giant systems that have underlived true human potential. Better human wants an equivalent better system, it is sometimes the system that lifts up the average man, it is the better man that lifts up an ailing system.

    Ukraine has missed the opportunity to negotiate with Russia back in 2022 when they still retained their territory. At this point in the conflict Ukraine must negotiate on Russian terms. Ukraine with western help and advice lost the war and losers don't have a say at the negotiating table. The world is going through a great transformation and Ukraine picked the short end.

      I began to feel uneasy when the US and Ukraine were the only two countries that voted against a United Nations plenary to ban the glorification and practise of Nazism and racism (UN GA 12396). Zelensky missed a trick. He should have relaxed both the US and Russia and remained firmly neutral, dealt with internal problems, and acted as a bridge across Eurasia, and the country could have prospered. Unfortunately he hasn't the talent and has been cajoled into this mess by all-sorts. Any reconstruction will come at a price for the ordinary Ukranian; full privatisation, wage and pension caps, higher fuel prices. I hope they can turn it around.

    The argument at the beginning is just stunning, absolute insanity and scary to witness. Russia had been calling for negotiations for 2 years, as were many of us in the west, and we were told by these very pro Ukraine war people that it was unacceptable! That is was "putin apologists" or Chamberlin style "appeasement." They acted like it was an actual thought crime to even suggest it, when the brightest among us knew that it would in fact only be going downhill for Ukraine and they were only going to get in a weaker and weaker negotiationing position from that point. Ridiculous to say "oh the Russians won't negotiate" - it was the slava Ukraine lot that were the ones against negotiations! And that mindset of not taking responsibility, not seeing how our "sides" actions and reactions are part of the problem, is the biggest danger in this war and one of the main causes for all this utterly pointless bloodshed
