Not at all happy with Meerub's character. She's shown across as stubborn, self-centric, strong headed woman who's confused and goes at extreme. Meerub's character poorly written as her childhood has been happy and is raised by wonderful parents. She has been level headed woman till she got married and suddenly she's an annoying, conflicting person. This doesn't add up at all.
A typical feudal mindset with mysogynist, skewed approach.

That's because of trauma she's hasn't come out of yet it and so is behaving like this , although I agree with your point that writer hasn't done justice to her character at each conflict point she's ultimately shown wrong and portrayed as problematic person

I don’t think that they forced her to get married to him, she was the who took the decision to marry him after that ammi abbu situation, he even asked her for some time so that he can sort this situation up. Even after doing what she asked him to do, meerub always comes up with the same taunt.
Yes meerub is a conflicting figure. As the director says, she has issues with which she is not coming to terms with and not handling the scenario with maturity. She agreed to the marriage to get revenge and that's all there is in her head. She is headstrong and immature whereas Murtasim is headstrong but mature.
Did she have any other option? Her parentage truth was outed in the most insensitive way simply because she refused to marry murtasim. Then she was forcefully kicked out from her adoptive parent's life. Since it's a pak drama meerab cannot find a hostel and live an independent life away from all those people. So her only option was to get married to murtu and she the only way she can get back at everyone is by acting out in that house.
@@vp98215 technically she did have option, and murtasim himself gave her that option that she can refuse and he himself with come up with a solution, but instead she went and agreed.
@@vp98215 yes all that happened whivh was definitely tragic but she herself chose to marry him. He never forced himself, that is what the director is trying to convey Meerub has a war going on inside her as well. She is reacting to everything around her because things didnt go well with her. It is understandable......it will take her time to actually mature and understand the situation, the scenario around her and to channelize it as she should. She was always pampered, protected, childish, stubborn and ready to fight for what was right. The night when she goes to see her parents last time, she chooses to go with Murtasim because she in a way trusts him that he has control of things around him. She feels safe around him but has conflicting emotions, she likes his concern and care but refuses to give in as her anger and revenge towards the family and her parents and comes in between and she feels her self esteem threatened.
Forced doesn’t always mean that apparently they show some gun etc. overhere merrub is forced into marriage by the circumstances created by murtasims family that no option left for meerub except surrendering in-front of them. For 21 years they don’t own her and when it comes to pride they caged her.

Hats off to this guy as he is the ultimate reason we are blessed to watch ‘Tere bin’ drama. To be honest I can’t stand interviewers as I find them too thick to comprehend storylines. She needs to read books to improve her comprehension skills. Her questions are based on her intelligence levels which are very low. I’m o my watching for the director as I’m a fan of Tere bin.

What are you saying? I think she is asking very pertinent questions here, questions that most other people are not asking, questions that most other people will not even think of. Everybody is going so gaga over Murtasim’s larger than life character that people forget that Meerab also has reasons for being the way she is. Rabia recognises that and asks about it, and that makes her an intelligent and empathetic interviewer.
Terebin is a masterpiece of 2023 best drama of 2023 i am in love with murtasim my favourite character is murtasim in terebin, but meerab kuch zyada hi rude hai murtasim se husband aisa nahi krte normally phir bhi wife ko sub theek rakhna hota hai zyada ziddi hai meerab not good
I really appreciate Rabia alot. She asked the right question for Meerab. i didn;t like the way they written Meerab's character. they all said she is strong she speaks the truth bla bla but again they didn;t give her practicallity and smartness she is educated this is how u act. sometimes i am like what did they write . sometimes it is ok to keep quite to get things done and make a smart way to get things done they cannot write little bit for her. she is really a complex character she herself doesn't know what she is doing. she is creating more problems than helping or solving it. It is all about Murtasim. but they should have given some more importance to Meerab. she rightly said

Good explanation about Murtassim but his explanation about Meerab is not satisfactory. I am glad you asked good questions Rabia, that why women should give up their dreams and forced into a relationship, trapped in a house of rules/regulations and should be happy ,only because now she has a husband? Meerab’s life should revolve around Murtassim making him happy and satisfied? It’s a patriarchal mentality and culture. Husband decides when to love, give in a marriage and the wife should be grateful. Marriage should be a two way street where if Murtassim as a cousin supports Meerab, refused to marry her until she is ready and support her as he is supporting Haya also.Meerab said yes because all her support was taken away Murtassim had a Choice. Murtassim still can decide to support her education, goals to become a lawyer, would have been more uplifting story. I don’t like him ordering her around and than forcing his wishes on her, expecting her to listen like a obedient puppy if she wants to be happy in his house.
He is still a feudal lord who wants her under his thumb as she challenged and intrigued him. I think Meerab is more honest in her relationship and herself in the end fall in love with him and become another frustrated, angry “ma begum “or depressed house wife. 😢

I have been there now that I have maturity I completely understand her character Bcs we girls r like meer in today's generation.

They also don't agree to our culture and custom. that doesnot make our culture wrong. Western culture gives more importance to individuality unlike ours. For us family and parents have much more value that them. In the west children are taught to be independent at the age of 18 and move out of their own house. That's not how it works here. Parents provide for the children as long as they can have a comfortable life of their own and it's totally fine to live at the parent's house as long as we want.
