So I can't quite believe it, but my Dad has gone and replicated my decision by buying a Z4! So ridiculous to see Two Z4s on the drive every time I leave the house now, but I guess I'll have to get used to it! Haha!

Love it, respect to your Dad. I'm a bit older than him and just bought a Z4 two weeks ago, a 3 litre SE with heated seats AND cup holders too! Trouble is, I can't keep the Mrs out of it now and she loves the 'Sport' button! 😂
Your Dad is cool man. Mine is cool and into cars but we have a more sort of formal relationship. Maybe I shouldn't have been such a shit when I was younger. Haha Anyway, you're lucky mate. Keep up the good work :)
Glad I came across your channel just binge watching all your uploads... thank you for making it ‘acceptable’ to buy a old used sporty car that doesn’t have to be 200k plus super cars like other youtubers portray ... officially on the lookout now for a sub 5k sports car maybe even a z4 🏆👊🏻

Ben Powe yeah I agree! One of the main reasons I chose the Z4 over a Boxster
As a dad it’s his right to embarrass Joel at any given opportunity! :-) I even love the fact they even dress the same (in similar albeit different coloured t shirts and jackets)

Now that is a Very, COOL video, how many others can you find on You Tube where their dad bought the same car, now that might be a good challenge for the dad's at least...to find more. I wish my dad and family were interested in cars, Just think Joel if you break down, you have loads of cheap spares now, just borrow it long term, of your dad's car, isn't that what dad's are for.. :-) after all you have a You Tube business to run, so it's very important.

Haha thanks!! I did suggest a boxster but couldn't sway him! Think the Z4 just has that extra bit of refinement! Haha I'll have to look him up! 😂
It's Joel Boxster's tend to spontaneously blow up too, so maybe he's made the bulletproof move wisely. The wife's 2.0L z4 is actually getting better then more it's used after being parked up for a year. Z4's are easy to live with in all weather daily.
Jason Day I know, that's a shame. But yes I'll be interested to see how the Z4s fair over the winter!
As I'm around the same age as your Dad, love the BMW straight 6 and mindful of the better comfort with the extra 15mm ride height, I'm opting for the 2.5. Now to start looking.

Build quality on bmws is superb, and in my opinion, much better build quality than the Porsche boxter, which tend to shake, rattle and ( not roll lot)
Hello, you and your father are the best, i subscribed your channel because I'm interested in the Z4, could you talk about maintenance differences between the 2.0, 2.5 and the 3.0? I live in Italy anyway.
It's cool you live around midhurst. I live just in the south but I don't recognize any of those roads.
How did I miss this one. I have a 15 year old son and I wish I was this cool when he is old enough to drive. So jealous of the relationship withh your dad! Z4s are great but having one with your dad, the most awesome thing ever!
I can't say that I would have been any different than your Dad, Joel. lol the Z4 is just a matter of good taste meets quality. I currently own a classic e34 5 Series and my next car will be a Z4, second gen, thanks in part to your reviews and your Dad's input as well. So Cheers, Joel AND Dad!
