I love all the constant detail and side comments. I kept saying yes, yes, yes every time you would provide a detail that makes the process easier and more efficient. Job well done, sir.
@@backyardchevy328 I completely understand. You could have performed the oil change five times faster if you did not have to keep filming from a variety of angles, etc. I truly appreciate what you have done, but I hope you know that you are making the world a better place. Take care, friend.
Thanks for this tutorial i noticed the oem Toyota filter and the Mobil filter I purchased looked like different sizes. After watching your video it confirms I can use the same Mobil 1 filter. Thanks!!
Best video I watched! Thank you so much! You actually said my needed sizes of everything, and told me why i needed to do certain things... Not just to do them and me wonder why. You were straight to the point. I liked it... Maybe in beginning you could list the oil, filter, washer, 10 mm, 14 mm, and rag.... Just a tip cuz I always appreciate it when thats done... Thank you again! I don't need no man for this job! Woohoooo!!! Lol
I bought my 2007 Sequoia 4.7L in 2022 with 114,000 mileage. From the beginning, the oil dipstick measures differently on each side. One side, with the depressed marks, says half a quart low. On the other, with the protruding marks, says about a quart over. I've never before seen a dipstick do this. What is causing this? Which side should I go by??
My Toyota dealership asked me if i wanted to change my 2000 Tundra with 200K miles, from conventional to synthetic oil. They told me the synthetic oil; its engineered to last 10,000K miles between oil changes. Is this true or are they trying to up-sell me expensive oil that is better and healthier for my truck?
If youve been using conventional, switching to synthetic oil can cause ur gaskets or seals to leak and yea that oil can last up to 10k but u shouldnt wait that long between oil changes anyways
No oil should stay in there 10k miles. Replace it max at 5k miles. They hope you spend extra for that. Now I still be the 10k filter because it comes in deals, but still change every 5k. Your car is vital to your life. Don’t make it run on crud past 5k
DON't DO WHAT I DID! Guys, make sure when reinstalling your skid plate to line up ALL your butt holes! I didn't. Paid a hefty price too.... #learn #from #my #mistakes
Yea i can imagine..although its not too bad on floor too since the truck is high enough to not have to lift it..only problem was trying to get good camera angles from that space
@@eduardozuniga5289 Not on my 03 SR5. I just reach over and take it off with a plastic tub under the filter to catch the oil & filter. Then screw a new one back on. There’s plenty room.
Now this is how to film a “how to” maintenance video. Well done sir.

Thank you🙂 i really appreciate it..means a lot when the effort in making videos gets noticed🙂

Thanks for the Great Video. Very educational.
BTW I noticed it wasn't necessary to jack up the Sequoia. Is that correct?
Thank you🙂 yes, Thats correct..i did it without lifting it
Very Good video. Thank so much.
Thank you🙂
Do you know the part number for the crush washer. 2002 tundra here. I found a bunch on line but want to get the right one. Thanks.
I should have it linked in the description
@@backyardchevy328 I appreciate that. Didn’t think to check the description
90430-12031 but this is the part number if u did prefer
Great video 🤙🏼
I looking for the 5w-30 conventional but is only synthetic l can use 10w-30
Great video
Such a pain to remove the skid plates every time. Just cut a hole to get to the filter.
Yea i know..or maybe if it had a flap door that opened up for access
Thanks blesse
Great video. Nice walk thru, no lame music or swearing.
Thank you🙂
Good video. Thank you.
Thank you🙂
What exact filter is that you used? Thanks.
Its a Mobil filter m1-102a
@@backyardchevy328 Sounds good. Thanks!
how much oil should I add?
I think taking off the skidplate is unnecessary if you have a big enough drip pan and dont mind getting oil on it.
It’s 5 bolts…
Now is it the same amount of oil of quart even with oem toyota oil filter.
Yes, most of the filters on this truck have the same sized filter as original

Are those special washers?
Yes, theyre crush washers...meant to crush as u tighten em and seal between pan and drain bolt
Nice
Can I just take off the oil filter with my hand?i don’t have the tool to take it off .
Well depends how tight the previous installer put it on..but if u can get it off with ur hand then u wont need the tool
Gotta grease those skid plate bolts before they shear off

What happened?
That's ridiculous you have to take off the skid plate just to get to the drain bolt
Well u can reach the drain bolt without removing skid plate..but to reach the oil filter it has to be removed
I also did mine from above
@@backyardchevy328 no it doesn't!
Man, it's so much easier if you can put the car on a lift to work standing up. I hate that I have to lay on the ground to do maintenance.
Yea i can imagine..although its not too bad on floor too since the truck is high enough to not have to lift it..only problem was trying to get good camera angles from that space
FYI ITS 5.6L of oil
Removing the plate is an unnecessary step.
You need to remove it to get to the oil filter

@@Ojb_1959 glad someone said it....wont be taking mine off!
2006 Sequoia has room to leave it. Put rags on the plate.
